Can't wait to finish mine. I bought the plans and have been building mine with 100% black walnut. We shall see how it turns out. I've also added 12 inches to the length for a longer entry.

I love that your success is leading to newer and better equipment in the shop. The one thing that I liked about your collection of Rigid tools in your older videos was that it made it obvious that most DIYers cold make similar things in their shops with the less expensive equipment. I know that is still true juts not as obvious but the new equipment is really nice! Congrats!
I wrestled with that, but at the end of the day I’m a carpenter first, and I make some RUclips videos when I can haha. So ultimately the bigger machines and tools are better for my business. Atleast you understand they’re not necessary for everyone! A lot wont and will just use it as an excuse haha
Oh, and I got plenty of negative comments with the Ridgid tools anyways so I figured what’s the difference! Haha thanks for watching man!

I've always heard that the tapers go on the inside, but it seems to work fine this way too. Perhaps with a fairly shallow taper it just doesn't matter. Nicely done!

Thank you for the video, you explain everything very clearly hard to find with wood working. Only thing I suggest is getting yourself some proper tools to push your pieces through the table saw all it takes is one slip and boom there goes your finger or hand. Just just looking out for you bud.

Very nice project and nice build, I don't know how you turned up the drawer stops with the top on, but maybe you could put them on the inside of the draw.
Reached underneath and rotated them up👍🏽there’s several ways you can do it this is just the most hidden

This is a beautiful piece my friend.. I love the look of the Poplar. Did u use Poplar, don't know if I spelled it correctly, for the top of the unit? The grey is really sweet looking man.. I was wondering how u got that groove cut into the legs.
I'm a wee bit envious of ur machines u have in the shop. They are real nice bro.
I don't have the spare reddies to blow on something so nice but we gotta work with what we have so I have enough tools to get something like it.
Poplar is a lovely wood. Is that one of the softer Hardwoods? I ;ove the look of the grain in this wood.
U built a stunning looking piece and the face frames with Pocket holes are real nicely done too. This is where pocket hole jigs really shine imho.

Here's a random question. Why do you refer to the drawer fronts on this build as 'false drawer fronts'? I'm still pretty new to woodworking, so hopefully that's not a dumb question. It just seems like any other drawer front to me, so why the 'false'? Another awesome build. Cheers!
In a lot of styles the actual drawer front is the front piece of the actual drawer box. Here I’m adding a second layer “false” front

*Pleaseeee Tell Me!! Why do all Entry Tables from (Amazon walmart other funriture stores)say that they are 30" Height but look taller?? In pics i measured and seems like they are short if they really are that tall are they not mesuring right????
I noticed that you used to use BIN oil-based primer, similar to the one you linked to in the description, but later changed to the Kem Aqua surfacer. Any particular reasons for this? The BIN is easier to obtain for me, though I don’t look forward to cleaning my gun after using non-water paints!
I just try different products sometimes. BIN is my usual primer
@@JohnBuildsIt Thanks, John. Would the water-based version of BIN primer be sufficient, or would you stick with the oil-based one? It's twice the price and I'm not quite sure if my spray gun can handle the oil version.
Regarding the rabbets on the false drawer fronts matching the dimensions of the drawer exactly so that the drawer recesses into the frame... Couldn't you have just used a thinner piece for the front and attached directly to the drawer?
Thought about it, but material that thin would be way more likely to cup or something over time, plus there’d hardly be any depth to screw into when attaching it to the box

So when painting the edge of the MDF, do you just sand in-between coats of primer to get the little fuzzys to look smooth?

Great video. Is there an alternative less expensive topcoat similar to General Finishes Enduro Poly at the big box stores? The closest i've come up with is the poly stains but I don't think those have good coverage. Any thoughts?

I’m about to do the same type of upholstered top to a playroom bench. Debating between a regular staple gun and a narrow crown stapler. The length of crown staples worried me. Would a regular staple gun be a massive mistake?
Not an upholstery expert but I think any kind of staple would be just fine 👍🏽

I cannot believe that someone with $10k in top of the line Laguna Tools would do such a rookie thing. Spend a couple of bucks on a box of flux brushes if nothing else.

I have several brushes. Sometimes I prefer this and find it faster and easier. Don’t see anything wrong with that lol.
