Underrated channel. I didn't even know that the plugin worked with newer versions until now. EDIT: With the most recent version of MCreator, the plugin adds an actual thing to make animated entities, so you don't use the regular entity one.

I'm not quite sure what the setupclass geckolib is since I wasn't paying that much attention to the video, and didn't see it when doing stuff. All you need to do is get the correct version of the plugin for MCreator and follow the steps given in the video to install it. I haven't actually done anything with the procedures yet. If you are using the same version as me, when creating a mod element you should see options for animated stuff. It lets you put in the basic animations (idle, walking, etc) without using procedures. If you need to make the model with blockbench, then make the model and make the texture. For animations, go to the animate tab and create a new animation. Name it whatever you want, it really doesn't matter. Back in MCreator, when in the animations tab you need to enable the animation you want (except idle, you NEED an idle animation) and the text box below the animation is where you put the name of the animation (EX: Attack animation is named "attack" so in the box you type "attack") I hope this helps.

fixed it if you want to make a 1.19.2 mod and it says this error you have to go in files delete mcreator workspace and do the steps over as it will download the files

this method is outdated, the newest verision of geko lib mcreator plugin will add you an option of making an animated entity its just like creating a living entity but you have a new tab called animations to make it much more simple to add animations
I tried to do this but there was nothing like "setup class (Geckolib)" in the event trigger, I agree this is an outdated tutorial, but, there are a lot of mods that have geckolib animated models/entities but there only for 1.16 - 1.17 or even 1.15. is there any way to add geckolib animated entities in the 1.19.2 mod, or I should transform my entire mod to 1.16-like versions? and if anyone knows any Minecraft version which is best for geckolib so please let me know!

How do you make more than one animation, like what should I name them in mcreatorb because none of them work, for example under the animations tab in Mcreator I make a new json file but I can't name it "reaper.animation.json" again because it overrides the first one and if I name it anything else and set the animation to something like sprint or walk it still doesn't work, or do I have to put all the animations in the same .json file?
top right side of the screen go to the animate tab and click it, then go to the top of the screen where it says "Animation" right next to "Edit", click Animation and go to the bottom of the options where it say "Export Animations...", click it to save the .json file full of all your animations.

well this is ever so slightly concerning, far as i know i followed the tutorial to the letter but when i try loading the game it shows a few strange square symbols then crashes. did i create a demon frog?

Non-geckolib entities are supported if you use a Java model for them, the built in models don't work.

You do have to put all of the animations in same .json. :)
