Legend has it that this fire is still being fought to this day.
Great job chief handling just about everything and remaining calm and collective!!!
Command catching the hydrant, respect.
Deck gun use! Finally a dept utilizing that beautiful piece of equipment!
Yes but! They didn't set up with the proper and effective Line of Sight on all the burning material including the gable end area. They were too far past it. Later, they backed down. That first officer should have told them exactly where to set up.
@@JB91710 this is best fire department in America finally using a deck gun
@@jimmythrow1769 Using it and using it effectively are two completely different things. You could hear the officer saying they needed to relocate it. It should never have been parked in the wrong place in the first place.
They are rarely of practical benefit on a typical residential structure fire

Why weren't you there to tell them how to do the job?
Oh wait thats right... you've been rejected by every FD you applied to 😆😅😂🤣
Good video. Calm, organized command and E-1 maneuvers
Man, the chief is a one man fire fighting machine!
The chief running around...he is like a one man show, good job.
Great fire attack, great video. This from a firefighter from 50 years ago 🚒
Well organized men. Awesome job.
Best group I've ever seen. Very organized and quick response!
lots of respect for the command officer...
This is definitely the best ff/command go pro footage I have seen in a while. Great command presence, knowledgeable and skillful and great situational awareness and great display of calmness while operating short handed
Good video. Praise our firemen.
Nice initial deployment of the deck gun and keeping it there... They probably have to wait until more companies arrive before they can go inside and do the really heavy exposure to get at the "heart" of the fire, possibly in the vicinity of the chimney and maybe the flue itself... I hope everyone that lived there got out OK...
Deck guns should be used more often.
Thank God for fire fighters !
water on the fire in under a minute of arrival. good job.
Is there a part two where they spray water on it and put it out?
4:05 Whenever I see a pile of hose, i think of the ditty "On top of spaghetti..."
Command was on point. The engine crew that showed up was moving pretty slow. Gotta pull ceilings to find it !!!!
This is an example of how fire departments have a citizen loving quick response on paper but it’s not actually truthful. After the arrival of the B/C others notified dispatch of their arriving on scene when in fact they were more than one minute out. No excuses please.
Can't say much more than everybody else is said that was impressed good job chief
Curious, what were they using the iPad for. Was it planning or reporting or something else?
Holy hustle.
Nice job by chief. Anyone know what app he is running on the tablet?
Those firemen could act a little faster, what if it was their house?
I guarantee that you have never fought a fire. As a 10 year vet I commend their speed of an initial knockdown and hydrant catch. Nothing wrong here. The reason they went in with a dry line will be because of temps and a RIT being established.
Did your engine not get out with a full staffing?
What did the firefighters come to do, heat themselves, the house was three-quarters destroyed by fire, are the guys firefighters? Poor country.
Why is the chief (incident commander) catching hydrant and working the pump panel when he should be doing a 360, checking for gas shutoffs, and monitiring incident in a big picture perspective?
I give props to the guys that can do fire fighting in the snow idk if i could do it I love the heat and not having to have ice on me if I get wet 😂 if I get wet its dry in a hour or less of course that's unless I've been sweating really heavily 😂 but it's only the inside that's wet lol 😂 but even then once I take my top off im dry in minutes lol 😅 now of course that's dry arid desert area im sure in humid climets its different.
What the hell why does all the videos of firefighters using water look like kids who have never put out a fire? He sprayed for a few seconds then let off like your supposed to but instead of continuing to put it out they just let it get bigger again?!
If Jeff drake had anything to do with it. House is probably a total loss. That man has the back bone of a jellyfish
Quick response but why did it take so long to put water on the fire? They did a knock down and then by the time (15 mins) later they were ready the fire was much worse.
water was on the fire in 1 minute, if you look closer you'll see the deck gun being used to knock it down
so besides all the praise for the firefighters, did that lady ever get her dog out?
From where I'm sitting you guys are awfully slow you should be putting water on the Fire the deck gun was was was doing a good job until you stopped it for some unknown reason
Was anyone in the home?
It's best to clean your chimney before you use it.
That b.c is a leader...true leader. My b.c would be in his rig with the heat cranked
Lol I understand that deep breath
What state?
Michigan
Water would be nice
Plainfield Township where?
Michigan
House chief fire fighting lol us
did I miss something aa I saw was the ground
I can see why Lahana burnt up!!!
Just cut off mid action 🤦♀️
Picture in a picture is no good! Can’t see what’s going on!
🔪add it🔒🔒🔒🔒 0:57
I got nothing.
I am watching from Elmira NY The Elmira fire department starts putting water on the house fires they battle as soon as they get on schene
I’m in Elmira too. God be with all of you no matter what you respond to.
Not sure a chimney fire is an accurate size up of what’s going on. This is a legitimate structure fire with attic involvement. Might shock units coming into the scene thinking they have a ball and chain fire instead of a legit job. Great video though.
Exactly!
He said chimney fire with fire through the roof..I don’t see how you’re confused
@@Gromek_126 it’s just interesting to keep the “chimney fire” size up throughout the incident. The chimney is irrelevant and could add confusion when trying to paint the picture. Generally I’ve seen chimney fires with extension just get updated to “structure fire”. But if that’s what common in there area than so be it.
More talk
Don't you have watertanks? Took an awful lot of time to put water on the fire
Zazur house 🏠
Just seems there has got to be a better way to attack fire in 2023. UHP firefighting ?
Nice job IC.
1st on scene
Hand jacked the hydrant
Charged the line
Helped advance the line outside!
Back to IC
Job well done Sir!🫡
