      Yes but! They didn't set up with the proper and effective Line of Sight on all the burning material including the gable end area. They were too far past it. Later, they backed down. That first officer should have told them exactly where to set up.

      @@jimmythrow1769 Using it and using it effectively are two completely different things. You could hear the officer saying they needed to relocate it. It should never have been parked in the wrong place in the first place.

    Nice initial deployment of the deck gun and keeping it there... They probably have to wait until more companies arrive before they can go inside and do the really heavy exposure to get at the "heart" of the fire, possibly in the vicinity of the chimney and maybe the flue itself... I hope everyone that lived there got out OK...

    This is an example of how fire departments have a citizen loving quick response on paper but it’s not actually truthful. After the arrival of the B/C others notified dispatch of their arriving on scene when in fact they were more than one minute out. No excuses please.

      I guarantee that you have never fought a fire. As a 10 year vet I commend their speed of an initial knockdown and hydrant catch. Nothing wrong here. The reason they went in with a dry line will be because of temps and a RIT being established.

    Why is the chief (incident commander) catching hydrant and working the pump panel when he should be doing a 360, checking for gas shutoffs, and monitiring incident in a big picture perspective?

    I give props to the guys that can do fire fighting in the snow idk if i could do it I love the heat and not having to have ice on me if I get wet 😂 if I get wet its dry in a hour or less of course that's unless I've been sweating really heavily 😂 but it's only the inside that's wet lol 😂 but even then once I take my top off im dry in minutes lol 😅 now of course that's dry arid desert area im sure in humid climets its different.

    Not sure a chimney fire is an accurate size up of what’s going on. This is a legitimate structure fire with attic involvement. Might shock units coming into the scene thinking they have a ball and chain fire instead of a legit job. Great video though.

    • @hihfty
      @hihfty Год назад

      @@Gromek_126 it’s just interesting to keep the “chimney fire” size up throughout the incident. The chimney is irrelevant and could add confusion when trying to paint the picture. Generally I’ve seen chimney fires with extension just get updated to “structure fire”. But if that’s what common in there area than so be it.
