I'll be honest, despite seeing all the previous parts that make up this episode before, like 50% of my motivation for re-watching this is the host chemistry between Kay and Sonny. Watching these two interact, and Kay growing as a foodie is a real treat.
@bobbiebob575 bob same with Vietnam. Starbucks actually does extremely well in coffee loving countries, but certain countries just have their own way of drinking their coffee. Like Vietnamese coffee cant be replaced by starbucks in Vietnam.

She grew up in the big city, eating big city food. Taking her out to the countryside to eat was an eye opening experience for her. It was also a taste bud opening experience for her.
I love how Sonny does this... Take somebody who is from the culture but has grown up in a different setting, and broaden their own perspective of their own cultures.
While Kay was initially iffy, your enthusiasm and passion for food eventually gave her a change of heart. You have that effect on all of us. Keep making these vids Sonny.
Nice play with that change of heart card and she had no Ash for the counter and you broke her down a bit on some of the ish to eat. I grew up on a farm so cheap cuts of the animals was a staple every weekend. Liver and onions was a family Sunday dinner night get together with the night ending with games of sheepshead for money. Apple sauce and potato pancakes 🥞
This channel is SERIOUSLY under-rated, Its literally one of the best thing to watch anywhere. Kay is incredible, she is nice to watch and the two work especially well together, a good team. The whole series is interesting/educational/funny, i don't think it could get much better. Also Sonny is so natural in front of the camera he's fantastic to watch. Obviously the production/camerawork is top notch. You should all be incredibly proud. 10/10

Underrated would mean he’s not receiving the recognition or views that he’s supposed to based on quality and great reviews…he has 10 million subscribers… has much respect and has given much respect from and to other cultures… and his work is definitely recognized and enjoyed…going mainstream like television could possibly hurt his brand based on the fact that everyone streams and a great deal of us enjoy his videos… he even has sponsorships for his videos…he’s not underrated…

Ya know, the first time I watched it, I was mildly annoyed how little eating experience his guest had. BUT, I've seen it a couple more times now and she wasn't a bad choice. She's very relatable to people who really don't have a huge food range experience. And she took it in stride, under Sonny's guidance. He's become a great host to his guests, no matter who they are.
Sonny, I've just now come across your presentations and I am appreciative of your skill working with diverse cultures, your obvious love of foods of all types, and your comedic interludes; you're a gem sir.
For foodies this has to be the best shows not on TV. Production value is off the charts. Guest hosts are so much fun. It really might be the Best Ever Food Review Show.
I've wanted to see this show since the Yucatan clips started hitting the interwebs. One thing I didn't realize until I was around a lot of Mexican, South American, and African folks was the purpose for there spicy food. I grew up in rural Indiana (shut up, I know 😆) and there virtually nothing here aside from the basic fast food or chain restaurants. But my family did have the privilege of going on vacation annually, usually to the gulf in Florida, Las Vegas, or South Carolina (around Foley Beach.) I fell in love with seafood which was a real shame being stuck in a fucking corn/soybean sanctuary aside from my 8 day vacations each year. Anyway, when I was 21/22, my wife and I moved to Houston. We made tons of friends from everywhere you could imagine. I had friends from Cuba, Paraguay, Peru, Australia, Germany, Vietnam, Mexico (obviously), Chad, Niger, Kenya, Cameroon, Crimea, Czech Republic, Dubai, India and lots of other places. I was introduced to a bunch of different cultures which felt far more valuable to me than the years I spent in college. But the one thing I noticed from everyone I met was this general rule with food: The hotter the average climate a culture has to deal with, the spicier the food typically is. When I asked a few people, they couldn't really give me much of an answer as to "why" that was. But when I met a buddy from Cameroon, he told me that he asked the same question to other Africans. Since his village was more temperate, he wasn't a huge fan of spicy food. But when he moved a bit more North and inland, the food got a lot hotter. Apparently, spicy food is a kind of natural immunity to the climate. If you live in a really hot area, eating spicy food makes the actual heat less intense. My wife and I had made friends in our apartment complex with a lady and her husband (a few years older than us) who were from Kenya. She would babysit our infant son when we were at work, and she would regularly make us food if she was making one of her family's recipes. She knew that we loved trying new foods and it doesn't get much different from rural Indiana and Kenya. She made the most amazing but absolutely ridiculously spicy food I've ever touched. I brought some to work and a couple of my friends that claimed to "love spicy food" tapped out almost immediately. I thought she was just fucking with me so I had asked her if Joe (her husband) liked that insanely hot sauce. He rounded the corner with a damned leg bone dripping with the same ghost pepper sauce that had us crying bad he was just lapping it up like it was ranch dressing. Even when his eyes were red and he was sweating profusely, it didn't even seem to faze him in the slightest. The hotter the climate, the spicier the food... Because it keeps you from dying 😆
I would like to add that people in warm climates down south put more different spices & herbs (besides chili peppers) in their food to preserve it from spoilage. The idea is that these spices and herbs in the wild have anti fungal/ anti bacterial properties and that they taste very bad for other animals besides humans. In countries with long cold winters like Germany/ Central Europe, Northern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, northern half of Japan, and South Korea they tend to make fermented foods instead like sauerkraut, kefir, surströmming, beer, and kimchi. As a side note, the Koreans recently started adding spicy peppers into their foods in the early 1960’s after the Korean War ended as a result of some American diaspora, as well as a lot of sugar and processed food in their diet.
@@Toomuchbullshitt Sorry I didn't see your reply until now, but I appreciate the recommendation. I'll check it out here shortly. I just think it's really important to understand how/why other cultures operate the way they do because we can distinguish between "good/bad," "better/worse," and simply different. There definitely weren't any "bad" days when I got to try all the other foods/customs my friends brought for me. But working in an enclosed fabrication warehouse beside 2000°F natural gas furnaces and a galvanizing facility in Houston during the summer DEFINITELY taught me to appreciate spicy foods for their utility 😆
Ye I’m enjoying this series a lot, bill your doing great with these shows i remember your videos from 7 years ago to this your calibre just keeps improving👊🏽 much appreciated

Sonny my man needs his own food review reality show on a major network. He has the intelligence, charisma, charmingly effectiveness , genuine mannerism, humorous, collective experience, physical appeal, cultural awareness, communicative, organic leadership, core value, tremendous track record, & overall contagious personality for entertainment and content. Also, Sonny is fearlessly not afraid of taking a risk or two and respectfully presents viewers with honest feedback which is one of the reasons why his ratings is so astronomical. His approach towards the guest/co-hosts is diversified & uniquely appropriate in regards to the social community. However, Sonny is a national & international sensational appeal to food lovers who grows abundantly in numbers weekly. Big thanks to Sonny & BEFRS team for providing us with premium phenomenal consistent content worldwide. 💻🖥📱🌐

So much work goes into this. Respect Sonny...And the chemistry with Kay was just amazing. It almost felt like you guys were flirting (in a very attractive way), and those are the memories we live for. Kay is such a vibe.

Im glad this channel still gets tons of views. When you get pulled away by life you always worry you'll come back and youtube will have killed a channel somehow. Gmm, Best ever food review, never die!
I am so fascinated with the underground cooking method. I would think all the dirt on top would smother the fire out. I want to try meat cooked that way so bad. I’ve been to the Yucatán once before & it was lovely. I hope to go back.
The hole is usually lined with brick or stones. Logs are added and burned until only the embers are left. It's topped with a metal lid then covered, leaving it to cook with just the heat.
White glowing coal means it's at its hottest point. You can't kill that process anymore except for with water or a total enclosure. And even then. It's sucking in some oxygen probably. Do you know how traditional coal is made? Similar procedure out in the center of the forest. And the good thing is the crazy hot heat is not lost to the air or to the thermodynamics of the air but it's kept around in the dirt. How else would you get such a soft well done meat without charring it?! The heat just travels through it and still sticks around. What other method could do that? Also it's not bad to have a dying down fire from the white glow level. It's at maximum, slowly dies down but stays around because of the surrounding dense matter. It's putting the most love into food heating wise.

As a side note, the Koreans recently started adding spicy peppers into their foods in the early 1960’s after the Korean War ended as a result of some American diaspora, as well as a lot of sugar and processed food in their diet.
There’s a whole video on it that goes on in much better detail!

This is the only RUclips channel I am this committed to watching !!!
She is epic. Beautiful, funny and gutsy. Good luck lady🙏🏽
The quality of this channel is consistently top tier. It's always a joy watching you travel the world Sonny!
Ye I’m enjoying this series a lot, bill your doing great with these shows i remember your videos from 7 years ago to this your calibre just keeps improving👊🏽 much appreciated
Honestly one of the best birthday surprises! I've held off on the rest of the videos so I could see it all fresh in full length
I love how Sonny has so much respect for ALL the Cultures that he interacts with.... Sonny come to NZ and hang out with some of my people, New Zealand Maori Indigenous we would love to have you here...
The Maori are great! He would have blast learning the Haka and hunting with some modern warriors
@@ClipCoyote he most certainly would... Teach him the Haka, the hongi and you know how us Maoris love to sing... He'll be a Maori before he leaves...
Yes please! That would be awesome. So far my favorite series that he’s done is the Mongolian series, I think that a Māori series would be just as fantastic!!! ✌🏻💕😊
I just LOVE the work of Sonny - & his team - & his cohosts! You get me hooked every time! Thank you!🎖🎖🎖💞💞💞😎😎😎
Mexico sure is a fascinating videos. We appreciate your effort and hard work as always.
But the food is actually pretty boring and just fat and unhealthy with tiny exceptions :)
@@WojciechKalka she’s hot bro and the cuisine appears delicious - sweet, bitter, spicy, tart with rich protein fresh vegetables and corn derived carbs… what am I missing here?
I know Polish cuisine is famous around the world and no one knows about Mexican food but it doesn’t mean that it is bad
@@jaredneilsen ur bald and creepy
@@jaredneilsen well isn't everything corn and super fat meat plus beans and potatoes, fresh vegetables are hard to get and well if you like corn, I find it disgusting .. well this is why I eat Thai cuisine it is a lot better :)
@@WojciechKalka I
Not like corn or beans either, though I think corn derived tacos are nutritionally better than processed wheat (as far as I know).
I haven’t been to Thailand (yet) but would agree Thai and other south/ eastern Asian
places are probably the most complex and delicious to be found anywhere…
Mexico does have a lot to offer...... Love from India(Sikkim)
Sunni, you should ask Young Bloods the you tube guys from Australia to go out with them on one of their boating trips. They catch loads of seafood and cook it right on the boat or on a little Island.I know its totally different than your usual but it would be a great video with education on sea life.
I totally agree that will be insanely phenomenal! I hope he takes on this request...
I think they're mostly focusing on traditional cuisines for now. Plus lots of people have been doing catch n cook for a long time in yt
@LA A lot of people watch for the whole experience including the amazing places he travels and the educational value. I'd also love to see Sunni dive and catch/cook his meal.
10mil is gunna be so well deserved! One of the best creators on the platform!

Now this is legit authentic Real American food.
Pigs are literally not from the god damn continent and its 50% of the food shown...
That’s racist
@@Sniperboy5551 how
You’re right , mexican food is authentic American food , because México is located in north America geographilly speaking.
Go eat taco bell bum
dude... the guy have almost 10 million subscribers here on YT.. He is literally making millions every year from this.
If Sonny ever needs a hype man for an MLM convention or BEFRS NFT launch party, you’ve absolutely nailed it… I just hope your wife isn’t the jealous type
He used to lol, but I’m sure he makes more money thru RUclips and plus he’s his own boss
@@nataliep6385Absolutely & he should be.
@@jaredneilsen😅 Thanks! Im such a huge fan of his work. My wife loves his Asian content & knows I dedicate my Sunday mornings to his craft.
So much work goes into this. Respect Sonny...And the chemistry with Kay was just amazing. It almost felt like you guys were flirting (in a very attractive way), and those are the memories we live for. Kay is such a vibe.
It's been a while watching his food tour...never disappointed !! Respect😊😊
I love Kay. Very simple and natural, sincere and funny, most of all, she can deliver a counterpunch towards Sonny 😊
Who else notices the connection between these two ❤
Only you and three other thirsty "You had me at hello" females who gave you likes. Likely the same people that complain about sexual harassment in the workplace...but cannot fathom a male and female working together in a platonic setting. Go figure.
No. He’s married and the chemistry between him and Kay is more like a big brother/little sister chemistry. It’s pure and sweet.
@@melissadunton3534 WHO SAID MARRIED MEN DONT CHEAT
Wether or not they do, no one needs you trying to make some weird love connection in the comments, especially with people you don’t know and never will know.
@Melissa Dunton hate is written all over you why catch feelings ona comment that didn't mention your name
Sit that Ass and itcy fingers to do some house chores than lashing out on people's comments with no enough underwear
You will definitely love every featured video of Sonny! :) Culture, People and Food! :)
Best part for me had to be when Sonny said you got to be careful and ready for these birds to poop on you . And the ranch owner was like "no my business wait yeah that's true. I'll allow it" 😂😂

You guys show the world so many different cultures, that is so good for humanity. Keep up the good work👍
i love seeing the diversity of food from mexico. from native american cuisines to mixed with european and other cultures of people who migrated there or in some sad cases enslaved there(as it was in lots of the americas)
Im glad this channel still gets tons of views. When you get pulled away by life you always worry you'll come back and youtube will have killed a channel somehow. Gmm, Best ever food review, never die!
Sonny. Thank you for a great start to my day..great content
Honestly, I like that you know in certain episodes she bring someone a long and it turns out they love the stuff at the end of it most of the time
New hair is looking LIT, Sonny!
I like to think Anthony Bourdain is looking down and smiling. Carrying a torch like the one he had is hard. Thank you, Sonny 💜💜💜
"Blood tastes just like meat. So if you are a vegan, just eat blood." 😂
Crazy but the impossible burgers actually use hemoglobin to color their burgers
Sonny's hair is becoming more lush and thick by the video 📸 well done Sonny 🎉
Such a great video as always bro! The Yucatán cuisine is definitely special! My favorite are the Cochinita pibil tacos 🤪
I love her vibe and Cheek and Tongue are my favourite Taco meats so I was salivating watching them eat. Really curious about the brain.
Really is the best food review show going
Sonny has the ultimate dream job.. traveling the world while eating amazing food
I can't get past the fact of just how gorgeous Kay's nails are!!!
I love your videos❤
I hate the fact that I had been to Mexico before discovering your channel
Watched the short version already but I'm liking it for better engagement
I really like her on the show with him. They work great together in my opinion
