Thanks for not playing music while you fish. It comes across much more natural, like we are there with you. So many RUclipsrs make that mistake. Love your channel!
My wife is from Alabama and was an avid fisher until disabled. You are just about the only one she enjoys watching fish, and you have the added bonus of sounding like home to her. She was like you with luck and she outfished everyone we know. She loved it so much that she dreams at night about fishing still, even though she can't do it anymore.
A shame to lose that nice bass but as you said, its the way life goes. None of us want to waste a fish but you tried your best to revive him. Another good video. Thanks for inviting us to homecoming.
It’s days like these that keeps you coming back for more! I’m just as addicted to river/creek fishing as I was 50+ years ago. Great adventure, great video!
Man that was quite the adventure John!! Thanks for taking us along, so glad you made it out safe from that one , and congratulations on those big fish!!😉👍
Dude that whole video was so cool John! Lol it had it all, sentimental, great fishing, dramatic storm, people falling down, and church in the morning! Thanks for the watch buddy. 10/10
Me and my 8 year old river fish out of a Jackson Big Tuna every weekend. It's all he cares about these days. We watch your videos every night before bed. Keep up the good work. He told me last night "dad we really gotta get some of them hellgramites". We really appreciate and enjoy your content.
None of us should ever forget that we participate in a Bloodsport. We do our best to preserve our quarry especially the bigger ones but we can't win them all.
absolutely addicted to your videos especially when i cant go fishing. yet it makes me wanna fish even more also from my point of view, a fish dying from fishing is the cycle of life. we are like any predator but sometimes catch and release doesnt always go to plan but atleast we have a choice to let them go. it happens and will happen.
Great video ! It has every element for "Creek Fishing Adventures" award for the year ! Glad you were able to get back to Kentucky for a trip. Lots of beautiful fish for your group. When you were in the storm, I got a little worried about that Lightin' Rod sticking up on the back of your boat !!!!!! LOL ! As for the smallie that didn't make it, it happens to all who fish at one time or another. As you thoughtfully described, it became as the circle (cycle) of life. Always good to re-connect with old friends. Thanks for taking us along with ya'll. Perfect WORD at the close. Always be safe. Pap Blevins (S.E. Kentucky)
Impossible to pick my favorite video of yours because there are so many good ones, but this one has to be in my top 5. It had highlights, struggles, and the perfect Bible verse at the end. God bless, John.
They say you can never go home again. "They" never went fishing. Great video my man. Your video/music for your intros and interludes are great as well! Your grabbing some great music for those shots. Keep those up.
Thanks for being honest about that fish that didn't recover. I'm certain that many youtubers just edit that part out. Great video btw, the music company service you started using seems to really add value to your videos, hopefully it pays off with more subs!
That was truly an "EPIC" day of fishing. I guess you had to pay your dues at the end! That was rough! All in all just a beautiful and well timed trip. What a perfect scripture passage to end with. You're awesome! Blessings!
What a fantastic video! The way you shot and shared the beginning was great!! I really enjoy your vids for many reasons…biggest are no yelling and making a scene, NO foul language and a scripture verse to wrap it up! (This one was extra perfect!) Thanks for sharing all of it!
I know sometimes it happens when we catch fish that they swallow the hook & we have no control over it, I have cut my line to try to save them but sometimes it's their time to go, one time I felt so bad that I killed one & it was floating & a bald eagle came and got it, made me much happier that it was the circle of life, but what an awesome float with so many great catches, your do lucky to get to do what your doing & I know you don't take it for granted! God bless you!🎣👍
I am not much of a commenter but that video was just captivating. And sometimes fish don't always make it but that is the exception and not the rule. Thank you for for the ride! Truly blessed.
what a privilege to be able to do that under the rain @ 31:32 , looks like you sincerely enjoy and are relaxed . wish I could do that , priceless ! that's why I enjoy your videos, so real, it's like I'm doing it
Absolutely insane day of fishing man!! I'm from Kentucky! Great to see an extensive video on Kentucky. Thank you. Maybe I'll see you on the waters 🎣 happy fishing!!
@@bryantdodd6636 I’m a BG native and have floated/ waded Drake’s and the Geeen river tons. So many good memories. They’ve got a little bit of everything.
Great video. Sure it was a fun homecoming. Looks a lot like our creeks (like Sugar Creek or Big Walnut) in west/central Indiana. Love the medium sized creeks on kayak. Gar sightings as well. we have a lot of Gar here as well.
Continue to love and enjoy your content!! Glad you're with Family fishing with your roots Brother. I been watching your early videos, learning as I go!😊. Thanks again and God Bless 🙏
You're old kentucky you're old kentucky home You're gonna have to get back to her more often. What a fantastic trip and fish. When you get excited so do we.
Hey I heard there is a big recall on Dodge Ram trucks, you might want to check on that. What a great trip. Great fishing, rain was okay, but the lightning could have been skipped. Went out on a high Cascades lake in and had just started across when the lightning started. Let’s see, metal boat, graphite rods, lightning every few minutes, nah, we are going back.
Your true nature as a sportsman shows through in your concern over the fish in distress; men of character show respect for wildlife when hunting and fishing.
My friend deep hooked a big smallmouth once on a canoe/camp trip. We cleaned and scaled it, and covered it inside and out with old bay and butter and roasted it over the campfire. One of the tastiest fish ever. Just saying. I hated that it died but at least it provided a good meal for us.
I completely agree with you on fish casualties. It happens and there's no ill intent. We all try our best to take care of them. It always makes me feel better thinking that another animal has an opportunity to eat. Btw, I stole your front camera idea.😂
john you can cary a hammok tarp they light weight and make for great cover if you get cought in storm like that i keep one on my yak becouse we got cought in a pop up on the river and wished we had a way to hunker down and covered from the hail rain dont bother me but hail makes it ruff
I know you like the raised seat open style fishing kayaks but on a river like this it seems like the Old Town Loon fishing Kayak would be safer and drier. It is a sit in kayak and you should have been able to go down most of those rapids. Right now I am fishing out of an old Dagger Crossover which is a cross between a whitewater kayak and a river kayak. I am going to put rod holders on it and add an anchor.
The only thing i hear when you have a kayak and cruising through the creeks is nature .Not a motor scarring away everything in sight. You can appreciate every thing around you 🙏🙏🤔
Excellent video. At the end what were you doing? I would think the fish would be fired up during that. What an excellent day. Thank you for taking us along.
Happened to my friend and I on The Lake O' the Pines in East Texas. On his 19' john boat out in the middle of the lake (big lake), we sat there with water just rushing off the bills of our hats. Then we looked at each other and just busted out laughing! Good times.
Beautiful creek and beautiful Smallies. I love catching them but they are smaller. Even they are fun. I caught an 18 incher years ago. Thankful I got a nice pic. It sucks that one of yours died. I'm glad you didn't edit it out. It sucks but it happens sometimes.
Very cool homecoming video! You really got on some quality small jaws. I figured this was the video from your instagram page when you got poured on 🌧️ stay safe 🙏🏾
O my God dude that storm 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love how your laughing during it man we GOT to float together that looks insaneeeeee LOVE it!!!!!! That looks like one amazing float qnd ot screams I'm in Kentucky with those pop up storms🤣
Small world! I recognized that shoreline immediately…born and raised in BG. Ironically, my mother hails from Etowah and have family in Cleveland and Benton too, so your videos on the Hiwassee, etc bring back memories. Awesome channel!
Awesome fishing! Jealous. Major bummer about that one big smallie, but I appreciate your perspective and words about it. And your editing, music, etc. has gotten so much better. Professional without losing the appeal of a “homemade RUclipsr.”
Great video as always! You rock my friend! Really enjoy watching you out there on the water doing your thing. Sorry you got caught in that storm! It didn't sound very good. You had some nice catches. Keep up the good work! And as always, #CreekFishingAdventures rocks!!!
I appreciate you using your platform to not only be a "Creek Fisherman" but a "Fisher of Men" God Bless You!
He is definitely a good man. Love all of his videos
The fact that you took as long as you did to compassionately talk about the injured fish tells me a lot about your character. 👍
i was glued to my screen pulling for that fish!
I look at this way. If the fish unfortunately dies. That dead fish will feed all kinds of other fish and creatures. Hes not going to waste.
Thanks for not playing music while you fish. It comes across much more natural, like we are there with you. So many RUclipsrs make that mistake. Love your channel!

Welcome home. From Somerset KY and was hoping you’d come up and hit some KY creeks. Looking forward to more KY creek fishing videos. 😊
Nothing better than going home!! Especially when it's been a while. What a blessing!!

Enjoying the longer videos!
Definitely a quality smallmouth, John

Dang right those smallies are giving you a warm welcome home. They're telling you come back!!!!!🤘🤘🤣
18 is OK. He will complete the circle of life.
What we endure for a great fishing day 😅😅. Hail is like discovering a wasp nest in a flower bed.
Great day fishing! Thanks John.
That was quite a storm there buddy!!!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee
I bet out of all of your fishing trips, this one will never be forgotten. I enjoyed watching your adventure.
You got that right!
Looks like a great creek for a catch/cook/camp kind of trip
Well done everyone and way to fight the storm.
Awesome video glad ur safe its surprising fishing before a storm how good the bite can be
John, nothing wrong with keeping that one to eat. You did your best to revive it, but never forget fishing is a blood sport.
This was one of the best ones yet. Thanks for all you do, God bless!
You're old kentucky you're old kentucky home You're gonna have to get back to her more often. What a fantastic trip and fish.

Get'er done!!! Stay safe and have a Blessed Day!!!
Nice 4lb smallmouth....dont expect those much in creeks...lol...great vids...keep them coming😊
Your true nature as a sportsman shows through in your concern over the fish in distress; men of character show respect for wildlife when hunting and fishing.
WOW... What a great video. Y'all had a great day fishing, and then watching Y'all paddle in during the storm was fun as well. Great job John!!!!!!
Only thing better than fishing is watching John fish!
Home is where the heart is. Awesome trip....
As always, God bless your adventures in his name.
I’ve watched this video a few times because of the thunder storm right at the end! That was awesome!!!
Kodak moment you boys will always remember! God got you through the storm!
This creek looks pretty nice, it looks like a successful day of fishing!
Great video John and a true creek adventure !!! Loved it , thanks for sharing 🎣🙂
Kentucky is blessed with small stream fishing. I would like to see some videos on the tributary streams that flow into Barkley and Ky Lakes.
If you don’t get caught in a thunderstorm fishing in the summer are you really fishing?
That was a pretty good thunderstorm at the end that lightning is a little scary nice fish guys enjoyed the video 👍
Your intros and videos overall have really gotten better recently! I love how you’re incorporating musical transitions. Great job!
Continue while you're young. I absolutely love watching your videos.

Its the circle of life . That bass will become food and something else will take its place.
I'm proud the Lord looked over you 🙏
Stayed at The good ol Ramada cool to see you where in town

we were loading our kayak up at the end, we made it to the takeout

Probably the most exciting video that I've seen on your channel, it had everything. Good job John!
😎🎣🎥🏆
A wonderful adventure! It's all up to God what dies and what doesn't.
At :20 I said to myself I know where that is. Healthy fish and a very fun video.

John, ANYBODY that fish's has had that happen 🤔. It's no big deal. Part of fishing 🎣
The first thing i want to say is, how the heck did someone get John Dalton out of bed well before light. Thats a miracle in itself. LOL
What a man will do for fishing!!
i dont usually like to but this day was definitely worth it
A great fishing video...
