Man I am a confirmed beach bum tiki bar guy but that's some gorgeous territory brother! Continue blessings from our Lord to all our Vets and this great Republic!
Another awesome mission on this Creek!!! I really feel like the highest potential is a good summer mission for us here! You sure did put on a spinner clinic!!! Thanks again for the awesome paddle company !!!
Fishing in the great state of Kentucky. Nice clear water, beautiful scenery, and lastly but not least SMALLIES. That suburban looks really good, John. Great video lot of hard work in this one.
That's a creek I am very familiar with and fish it about once a week during the warm weather. I'm happy you could enjoy my home water, and hope you can make a trip back. The water downstream from where you took out is very good as well.
Next time, put in where you took out at go to the river. Largest fish are there. There is a smaller ideal cfs on the elkhorn. Too much and you are in an annoying amount of whitewater if you wanna fish. My home creek. Major part of my life. Practically a girlfriend. Beautiful and unique place.
You couldn't have drawn up a better looking creek and day to match with a trip. Its definitely starting to taper off as the water cools. 15:37 that's a good one...uh yeah. And in the middle of the day is what makes it special. Great adventure teaming up with Matt again. 2 of my guys with the hot creek 411...blessings
Love the video. You may want to try out a packraft. Alot easier to transport. There are gives and takes on it versus a canoe or hard kayak, but i really like the durability of it, and i can throw it in a bag and hike with it. I have also floated the Missouri river to fish isolated lands in montana and was able to float a field dressed deer out with them.
What beautiful scenery John, you always manage to land a big one, that makes for a great video, I been trying catch up on your videos, been really busy!🎣
Well I'm glad you caught at least one nice fish, but you needed about another foot of water. Now you just need to float the next section(from where you took out down to US127). Cheers from a Frankfort local!✌️
Absolutely one of the best videos you’ve made recently. That sunrise shot is amazing. The views are spectacular. Appreciate the time and effort you spend to make. Thank You
You gotta put some twists in those straps. It seems counter intuitive, but letting those straps lay flat and vibrate will both weaken the strap AND it can damage the yak. When I first got my molded kayak, on my first trip I just let the straps lay flat and vibrate at 55mph. After less than 10 miles they had melted a 0.5' groove in my yak from the friction. Ever since then I've been putting at least a full twist in every segment of strap that is free floating.
John, Great Video and Fishing Trip . Throwing a Spinner Baits is one of my favorite way to catch Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass. God has Blessed You. Tim L.
So, first video was Switzer covered bridge down to the forks, thought so. Now your going from forks pass Jim Beam distillery, probably down to the river. Again just started watching. Used to have to portage around that dam. I heard they removed a dam down that way. Good fishing.
Well John, I think you're finding out that our Ol' Bluegrass state has some pretty creek scenery also. Really nice smallie for that water. The Suburban is looking real good. What do you think about our new ball team? As I'm writing this on Tues. the 12th, the game tonight is supposed to carried by ESPN @ 9pm. I hope they do well against Duke. You keep hanging with Matt and he will take places! Pap Blevins
The original Switzer bridge was soo much prettier. But, flood took it and ran it into that car bridge. I wished they rebuilt it like original, sad. Water is usually skinny along Elkhorn. Try Georgetown area sometime.
John I have an identical ‘03 Z71 Suburban that I’m modding for the same reasons. I’m in Gadsden, AL but consider Gee Creek Campground on the Hiwassee my weekend home. I love your channel man! Maybe we can talk “overlanding” Suburbans sometime. I am so ripping off the work of Suboverland out in Idaho. Have you seen YT channel?
If someone cannot afford going all in on the PDL version, would you still recommend the paddle Sportsman or Topwater for a beginner all-round kayak? I do a lot of creek and river fishing but want something I can take anywhere. I like your video on the Crescent Shoalie for the way it cuts through the water - but I want something I won't feel wobbly in when going through currents and over rocks starting out. The Sportsman line seems super stable for anything you throw at it- but is it hard to paddle/tiring? 🤔
FYI. I fished our local small river yesterday. It was overcast, light rain, water very clear and a temp of 54. I tried everything without success. I had a 3 inch keitech on a swim jig head and decided it was time to try something completely different. It was getting late so I threw a pink 5 inch zoom fluke onto that jig head. I had a heck of a time getting it on but once I did , it swam kinda ok. It wasn't long before a gigantic, and I mean gigantic smallie hit it. I guess the hook wasn't in a very good position and it got off, but the point is, that pink fluke lit that big boy up! I will be using it again but will have to figure how to rig it so I get a better hook up. Tight lines!
Don't understand all the fish you and Aaron find with craws in their mouths why yall don't fish craws more than just today if they a eating it fish with it.

Now that was a beautiful creek/river! Those rock bluffs were incredible. The Suburban is lookin good!
What a beautiful sunrise. That looks absolutely Heavenly.

There is a loader that suction cups to back glass and has roller to help even further for rear top loading. Just started watching soooo.....
Nice 18" Smallie another great video with you and Matt! At least you had some scenery to look at while paddling!!
Just gorgeous. I'm so glad you had a chance to go there, and thank you for sharing your adventure with us.

Beautiful scenery! Great video too. Makes me wish I was fishing.
Big pimpin the suburban - looks great bro...super jealous. Thanks for another awesome video.

That’s a good idea.
That green chevy is really something John ... soo beautiful and it makes the trip more enjoyable 🏞🍃🎣
What beautiful scenery John, you always manage to land a big one, that makes for a great video, I been trying catch up on your videos, been really busy!🎣
Another amazing video John, the scenery was gorgeous 🐟🎣🐟🎣
Twist the straps and it will help with the noise and vibration.
Beautiful scenery looks like great time

4:25 beautiful shot , looks like out of a post card or picture

Hi, i like your vehicle , hope you two have a wonderful day fishing
Gosh! Beautiful landscapes over there! Amazing!
Great video. The Suburban looks great and the fishing was awesome.

Amazing scenery!!! Thank you for this video and for taking me along with you!
Thats a great stretch of Elkhorn! I don't get to fish it much because I have so much crap on my SS127 it can be a bear to drag.

The Fall bite can be tricky but with views like that, it makes it worth the adventures
Nice fishing with a good friend. Your vehicle is looking fine, too. Thank for sharing the trip with us.

We kept expecting one and never saw it haha
They took the dam out about 3 years ago
@@acerrubrum yea, I think I seen a video about it. Haven't been there in 13 years or so. Switzer was one of my go to's when I lived in Lexington.
Thank you for working so hard because that was truly enjoyable. What a blessing!

No words were need for seeing that odometer roll over to 200k. That is just a silent feeling we could all share
Man what an absolutely gorgeous float y'all had. Don't you just love Fall in the outdoors? Great video man.
Incredible cliffs!
Great video and float guys John i do believe you are the spinnerbait king
Looks like a smoother float!
That looks much better than before. Plus my old kayak looks mega nice on it since they are nearly the same color 💯👌🏼
it matches perfect
You need an Airbedz in the back of that suburban. Pittman Outdoors has the best Airbedz.
Nice fish on
Can you please fish this in the winter I want to see if that are biting

Can’t beat Chevy Green.
At 6:26 you can see on the backside of that smallie something tried to eat it.

The topwater 120 is great for everything, very stable and paddles great
