@@j4rooo Yeah, Legend plays more B and C tier decks (which I prefer), while CGB goes straight for the top rope with the spikiest decks-I recommend finding a budget deck in the colors you’re interested to keep you occupied while you build up the cards for the deck you really want. #1 wildcard investment for making several Brawl decks: Lands.

I just love how synergistic Golos and World Tree are.
One is played on 5, fetches a 6th, the other activates its passive effect when you have 6 lands.

Your talk about how you reset your sleep schedule is interesting because I do the exact same thing. Staying awake way more than I should to change my schedule.

I used to too, now I go for a heavy dose of melatonin. It saves me a sleepless, often terrible day 😅

I don't usually comment, but. I've been playing a ton of Historic Brawl and Golos lately after your first few videos.
The deck functions around the matchmaker putting it against other meta decks by playing monoblack snow Golos. It's been incredibly fun and hilarious, also fitting both my playstyle (control) and my favourite colour archetype (black.) It's essentially just destruction the toolbox with some incredible finishers. I had a few black staples already, but have been slowly crafting out the power staples.

That reminds me of those old Chromatic Lantern Historic decks that were mono black until they weren't, and would play all the best planeswalkers.
I think this is my first comment on this channel. I wanted to leave feedback and say I LOVE you doing more Historic Brawl. I am a commander player, but enjoy watching standard. This standard just feels much of the same and there is so many ways to use the same ingredients, but it all taste the same. Seeing you have fun, playing with a world of open ideas, and doing something different has been a blast. PLEASE, continue playing other formats like Historic Brawl as main videos.
That Thought Distortion made my day. There's something satisfying about seeing control decks punished so savagely.
I find that I have refined my play style watching your stuff. I love the interaction and the various lines you maneuver through. As always top tier content. 👌

(hearing CGB talk about spiky arena singleton brings me joy, gladiator is another fun and spiky format)
extus can get super aggressive with the right draw and golos can struggle with hyper aggression

Sometimes when there aren't enough people in the queue you will get matched against commanders up a tier than yours so you don't just keep waiting. I once got matched against Kinnan while playing Raffine and it was the most unpleasant game ever lol

To be fair to the second opponent, I too scoop to the first counter spell, even if my winrate is good against he deck. I just don;t have fun against counter heavy decks, even if I win, so I scoop early just in case it is one of those decks.

I think Hero of Dominaria just dropped out of Hell Queue. I used to only play against Golos, Dragon-God, Kinnan, Winota and other Hero decks a few months ago. Yesterday I played about 5 matches an none of the above were to be found

@@hrodvithit that may be true but I also find 30 minute staring match games extremely boring and also whenever a HB control deck seems to only try and run a paradox engine combo 🥱
Going against Magda makes the "Hell Queue" idea a little iffy, but I guess it's possible there just weren't any scary commanders queued at that time.
U will go up against lower and higher decks sometimes. Somehow they have to gather some information on how decks in different tiers play against each other to rerank them.
Also Magda can be very powerful. Not hellQ levels of broken but very powerful.
29:38 THAT is why you don't play god damn counter spells in a Golos deck CGB. And that is why your Golos friends conceded when they saw one. It's so anti-synergetic, that anyone who forces them in deserves no respect. But because it's you I'll write it off. You're still great.

As someone who plays it regularly, I 100% think emergent ultimatum needs to be banned from historic brawl.
I have never once lost a game after resolving it. I don't even think it's possible to.

How I play Golos :
1.) Throw in 99% semi-random mythic cards.
2.) Lose 99% if the time.
3.) Cherish that 1%.

Have you ever heard Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome? It seems that Neurodivergent people (like ADHD) have more likely to have a delayed sleep cycle, it seems that "normal" people get tired at like 23.00 and some just get tired 2 to 4 hours later then others.

I understand it can and is also very private to talk about this, but its nice to hear you being open about this aspect as it makes you very relatable and human.
This is consistent with my research also. Fighting the good fight every night for a reasonable bedtime. Sleeping away the daytime hours is bad for mood.
Interesting about the all nighters. Another neuro atypical thinker here and I used to do the same. CGB, any left-handedness in the family? You mentioned you used to have a stutter which is frequently associated with left-handedness and also cross-handedness. Which also have a strong correlation with ADHD. Which tends to lead to hyper focus which is strongly associated with ignoring sleep cues.

It woul dbe cool if they made a ladder for brawl, maybe both brawls play in the same ladder. Maybe there would be some more competitive play, however then maybe it wouldnt be so much fun. Oh well, thanks for all the content!
I might be a salty man for saying this, but in general Golos and Sythis players are tantrum driven cowards, one counter spell or kill spell and just fold and cry. I will say though, that I do love seeing them get a good taste of their own medicine.

At 26 minutes when you were worried about a counter spell, they didn't have blue mana open, just saying lol. You could've used the emergent and it would've been fine.
Okay feel free not to answer, but i think one of the reasons I like your videos so much is a lot of the personality that comes through I identify with. I realized that the Venn diagram of “things I identify with in CGB and personality traits of mine that are products of my adhd” is almost a perfect circle. Was wondering if you have ever looked into this?

Historic Brawl is the only real reason I'm acquiring Alchemy cards at this point, but I don't think they make that big of an impact given that it's 100 card singleton and the other cards are quite potent.
At the start he say if you play specific commanders it mathved you to similar power level
Before I watch any matches, Opponents will be from this list: Sythis, Kinnan, Baral, Prismatic Bridge, Teferi or Golos mirror.

Build the deck you want to play (2c to start) and slowly use the wildcards. Totally worth. Better then the grindy standart. I love the deck building and the games are fun
It’s nice though because unlike Standard you don’t have to get four of every good card, just 1 copy. Ends up being cheaper in the long run!
