I had a hard day at work today. Then the Wander Women post nine days. My day was EASY in comparison. Love that Mary Poppins brought her magic at the end.
Just returned from a Thanksgiving meal with my 92 year young father, 90 year young mother, sister, no age for her😜 her daughter and son-in-law and their Labrador Retriever, Scotia. Everything and everyone perfect. And to top that off I arrive home to find an upload from those Amazing Wander Women. So,so happy. Safe travels…see you next week🤗🇨🇦
Thank you SO MUCH for taking us with you (just discovered your video's) on your journey and beautiful views as if we are walking with you. Especially for those who never can hike like this and like traveling and can see this beautiful world through you, thank you! Best wishes to you all! ❤
When I grow up I want to be a Wander Woman! Oh Wait! I AM grown up! I still wanna be a Wander Woman!!!! Thank you ladies for inspiring me to get out there and FIND MY WILD!!
Annette always reminds me of an olden days peddler hauling her hodgepodge of wares, because of everything dangling every which way off her backpack. I love it! She really is a poet. 💗
You ladies are soothing my soul…so much negativity in the world right now and I’ve turned it all off! So thankful I discovered your videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. By the way, you are in my backyard! That makes it even more fun!
What a grueling segment. The seven mountain passes in warm weather alone would be incredibly difficult . Add snow and 12 degree temperature and it becomes dangerous. So glad that you all safe and sound. You women are amazing!
I remember in Banf backpacking in smoke it was hard. I did the high sierra trail this July and some of it crosses the pct..I cannot imagine doing it in smoke..it was 106..I think the heat is better than smoke. You ladies rock!!!
Holy cow! When I saw those first flakes I said out loud....uh-oh. glad you're all ok and I'm glad you got to see such beautiful things even though it had to be scary. I took a hundred pictures in my head while I watched.
900 miles? Wander Women “No problem, we can do that in our sleep”. Did you ever think you would think almost 1000 miles was no problem? Fall colors are amazing! What a sweet angel cute little Mary Poppins is! So nice of her to come looking for her tribe to make sure you ladies were okay! ❤️
You folk know your stuff. You are any inspiration. We saw the snow coming on the nightly news, and were a bit concerned for you. So glad the tale continues.
Great job all of you did on this section of trail. Such energy and determination. Beautiful mountains you were in even with the smoke. Maddie my dog ( a Lab) heard the loud noise at the one area and she thought it was thundering here so she's under my feet. I tried to tell her it was just the Wander Women..but she doesn't believe me. Thanks for sharing your journey with us and I look forward always to the next. Blessings, Teri
One of the most beautiful walks I’ve seen. Am I right I saying that you couldn’t see all of this from a car? Makes me want to head west from Ohio! Stay safe- stay adventurous. ❤️
I was getting worried, such a long stretch without an update from you. Then watching, I was getting worried about you breathing in all that smoke! Maybe carry an N95 mask for those really bad days, the Santa Ana winds will fuel more fires as you head south. I am amazed how you can navigate going down a steep, rocky mountain pass in knee high snow in the dark!! You 3are always an inspiration!
I’ve started to hit the like button as soon as I turn on your vid for fear of getting to engrossed and forgetting later. LOVE Your journey and updates. I actually saved this one for a few days. Brought it up tonight after a not great day at work. Still doing that, but so close. Interesting to contemplate that I must be older (retired) to do this at this point. Seems so backward. I now worry that so much will be burned before I am able and so now strategizing differently. I live near Yosemite and have hiked many snippets of the trail in all 3 states, but I want more of a snippet before it burns. Thank you for sharing.
So inspiring! Love seeing Mt. Whitney behind you. I hope the next time you go through Kings Canyon its not so Smokey. You three hike on - hurray for trail angels.
Wow, you have done that section so fast! It took me 2 weeks - I think, as my R knee quit bending. Such a shame about the smoke. I have been concerned because I know it is starting to get really cold. When I came out at Onion Valley at night, and camped, the next morning it was so cold and my fingers hurt so badly while I was packing up and that was around the 5th of October. The good news, this year, is that this week is supposed to be a bit warmer -- but the Sierra did get a dressing of snow. Take care.
Wow, that's quite the awful weather you are traveling thru! Snow and thick smoke. I'm really hoping you can find a way to continue without having to go that high and be in the snow/cold again. Sure doesn't look like much fun and I'm sure that folks will worry about you all. Happy trails (or not if you decide to pass on it for now), be safe please. PS love that Mary Poppins cam to meet you, especially with some food goodies :)
Wow!!! Your videos usually draw a gasp or two from me at the outright stunning views. I lost count during this one. What spectacular footage. You gals are rocking it and keeping it real. Be safe ladies. Glad you made it through what could have been a deadly situation. Thank God for all the angels watching over you.
Thanks for taking us along! You ladies are amazing!👏💪💗 The national guard are now being used as school bus drivers. Maybe they could help put the fires out too?
You are an amazing inspiration! Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures, we live sonewhat vicariously through you, but have ventured out morr and farther because of you all!
Love the Fall colors- too bad about the smoky skies. Beautiful section-trail.Superb filming and music selection 🎶 Snow on the passes ....brrrrrr! Yikes regarding the tracks in the snow😳 How nice Mary P surprised you!
You ladies are awesome! So glad to hear from you. What a long stretch! Stunning scenery as always! What a huge tree to hug! Blessed beyond measure for sure.
You are brave women! It’s been three years now that I have been on the verge of hiking the section you just completed. Lord willing, 2022 will be the year. Thank you for taking time to share your great adventures. 💕❤️
Incredibly brave -that's what you are! To manage in the snowstorm and come out with smiles on your faces is so inspiring! I have enjoyed wandering with you through the Sierras where our family spent many vacations when I was growing up! It was my first introduction to hiking as a kid! JMT is on my bucket list, but I think I'll opt for the summertime! I love following your adventures! You make the hard work of climbing look like such a rewarding journey!
Would have totally jumped in that water with you!! Loved watching this since I wasn't there with you till the last day, you all continue to inspire me with your grit and how you embrace every new challenge, lots of 💜💜 always ~Poppins
Actually, so glad you met up with WW. The weather is getting a little risky. We have snow at Stevens Pass WA and it was only 4,000 feet and warmer than 12 degrees. Hope everyone stays SAFE :) Hey Poppins. Do you have the ZP Hexamid Tent? I am thinking of getting the Hexamid. Your thoughts. Rick
Just watched the video of you guys on the Gazette Channel. You is famous!! LOL I'm on my 3-month road trip now with limited internet but catch up on your videos every time I am near the internet. Thank you for being such an inspiration I am loving seeing things I taught kids about but had never seen in person. Now because you showed it can be done I am doing it too. Just in a class A not even thinking of walking any of it. lol
Wow, congratulations on getting over all those high passes! Scary to watch once the snow started. Did you have any microspikes or anything? Beautiful amazing scenery!
I knew you were in for it, and probably will be again tomorrow! When I saw “October 8” I thought, here it comes! And it was so gorgeous. You gals are an inspiration to me. We’ll be heading up to Lone Pine ourselves on Friday and then up near Bridgeport, for our annual vacation; I’ll wave as we pass by, lol.
12 degrees is not enough degrees! With the turn in the weather, I hope you can maintain your pace through the Sierras. A couple-three from Kearsarge to Whitney Junction, then a few more to Kennedy Meadows? And onward to the desert!
Mary Poppins is such a blessing for you girls! You all rock! I can’t beLieve you all got in that cold mountain stream in October!!! Here I was all proud of myself for getting into the lakes here in Alberta in Late August! Lolol. Feels like small accomplishment now haha! So loving getting to see the Sierras in the fall! Hope you ladies stay safe in the snow! Will be biting my nails for the next episode!
We here in So Cal got rain. You got snow. I’m so glad VVR was open so you wouldn’t have to hike down to bishop even though it’s an amazing town. I’ve been to onion valley many times. It’s beautiful. You really did a lot of huge passes in so many days. But good thing you are going now. On a big snow year you slog through tons of snow. But when it’s cold there it’s bitter cold. The town of lone pine is so cute and scenic. If you gotta hunker down it’s a great place to sight see. Check out the Alabama hills and lots of great historic sights around there besides the incredible beauty. Snd just rest and eat. If I were you I’d do the San jacinto mountain section now before it gets too cold snd snowy. Then come back and do the desert sections. Finish the section from Kearsage to Kennedy meadows then skip to San jacinto. You can do the desert sections anytime. Wrightwood to big bear is also ski country. Might want to knock those out too. Look forward to hearing your next plans snd seeing your next adventures. Thanks for posting
Ladies, you are amazing! Glen Pass...covered in snow...at night...and at 12 degree F.....wow. Just wow. Now, some people would call you crazy 😁. But I call you adventurers of the highest caliber. And Kristy, I think, ...maybe, ...your sister was watching out for all three of you. She may have been shaking her head at you, but I bet she was smiling as she did it. ☺️. So glad Mary Poppins came to Check on you all and SO glad you had the Spot to show your location. Blessings to Mary Poppins for being such a great friend and good person. 👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. That warm sunshine at the end looked glorious! ☀️. Hope you had the biggest meal in town with a large hot cocoa and a splash of bourbon, Irish Cream or Kaluha for good measure. 🥃 You deserved it. 👍. Well done. 🏔⛺️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Gorgeous views! Love the reflections in the water! Y’all are amazing…enduring snow, cold, rocks and smoke. Your trail angels are awesome. It was good to see Mary Poppins again. These videos are the highlight of my evenings. Thank you for sharing!
It is so fun following you on this section of your hike as I hiked the JMT in the late summer of 2020. VVR is great. The lake was low last year too. So glad they were able to accommodate you this late in the year. The mgt. is definitely hiker friendly!
Bless you ladies...for lots of things...but the most recent, that you said "Mather" the way Mather said it, and not long "a" way so many younger walkers do...
As a JMTer and Sierra backpacker it was interesting to see the trail with fall colors. Glen Pass is hard enough without the weather but in the dark? Crazy. Enjoyed watching my favorite section. Forester Pass is my favorite pass because of the trail building it required. Enjoy.
A great section to walk. Love seeing this trail again. Hope that you go back up to Independence (Onion Valley-Kearsage) to walk in and then pass Crabtree Meadows, etc.
OMG, Nature is throwing so much at you girls, you must be candidate Immortals. Spectacular scenery all the way, too! Thanks for another amazing episode. 💖
You three truly amaze me. But what can I say it's all Girl Power on the trail. I'm glad that your all okay considering the weather conditions. Be safe out there.
When you cross on the Fish Creek Bridge near the start, if you don't and bushwhack upstream it becomes giant old growth all species, the aspens so fat like upside-down carrots, pines & firs in the shadow of 1800ft of granite face on the south side of the creek to shadow the valley. It's not a hike ... we followed game trails from the ridge above to there hunched over in shrubs, then next to water felt lucky it went west, downstream to the bridge, so worth the adventure. Cheers 🍺
Looks like the weather may improve this week once the wind dies down. I’d be up for trail magic/ support water cache drops or bring in any gear you may be needing. Walker pass/ Mohave isn’t too far from me.
Another remarkable adventure with spectacular sights. We just returned from hiking and camping near Moab, Utah. Canyonlands, Deadhorse State Park and of course, Arches National Park. And I thought the 10,000 foot passes were high when we went over Guardians Pass outside of Salt Lake- you were up and down some incredibly high passes (12,000 ft). What a blessing to have Mary Poppins watching out for you ! Keeping you in my thoughts as you continue your journey. Warm hugs from your Oregon buddy !
Nine days, I didn't realize you wouldn't post for so long and I was beginning to worry. You sure ran into some challenging weather. You glad you made it through there safely. I would hate being so cold. Of course the W.W. just keep going. Take care, be safe.
We’re starting to get snow in the Colorado high country & knowing you were in the Sierras, we were getting a little worried. What a beautiful, rugged section. Glad you are safe!!
I was definitely worried when I realized the was snow coming down up high. As usual, WW find a way. I’m hoping by your comment you are considering bypassing Forester Pass. But whatever you all decide to do will be the right choice. You go!
I had a hard day at work today. Then the Wander Women post nine days. My day was EASY in comparison. Love that Mary Poppins brought her magic at the end.
You ladies rock! And you’re so damn inspiring! I hope I can embrace the outdoors the way that you do, retirement in 400 days! #AT2023

Awesome footage and endurance by you guys. Beauty and adventure over load. Love it. Thanks for taking me along. 😊👣🥾🥶

You ladies are GOALS!! goals to be like you and goals to have hiking friends like you. So intrepid, so cool, so rad. Love!!! Hike on, Wander Women.
When I grow up I want to be a Wander Woman! Oh Wait! I AM grown up! I still wanna be a Wander Woman!!!! Thank you ladies for inspiring me to get out there and FIND MY WILD!!
You ladies are amazing. Great section. Smoke and all. Thank you for sharing. Keep trekking. 😀
Annette always reminds me of an olden days peddler hauling her hodgepodge of wares, because of everything dangling every which way off her backpack. I love it! She really is a poet. 💗
Wow! You are just squeezing by with the last of the good weather. Safe travels. ❤️
Thank you, Wanda Women. You bring joy to my life with your adventures and videos! 💜
You ladies are soothing my soul…so much negativity in the world right now and I’ve turned it all off! So thankful I discovered your videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. By the way, you are in my backyard! That makes it even more fun!
Way to go lassies, you guys are amazing 👏 look forward to next video, happy trails 👣 💛
OMG! The snow and cold! I'm glad you're safe and Mary Poppins found you!❤
It's really something to see that much of the High Sierra without any snow on it!
Very impressive ladies. Great hiking! Mary Poppins you are absolutely amazing as the Wander Women! 🦋❤
WOW, WHAT AN AWESOME NINE DAYS. I LOVE THE LONG VIDEOS.
What a grueling segment. The seven mountain passes in warm weather alone would be incredibly difficult . Add snow and 12 degree temperature and it becomes dangerous. So glad that you all safe and sound. You women are amazing!

"Do something difficult...do it now!" You'all are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
Ain’t no mountain high enough for you gals! Amazing fortitude and attitude! Great appropriate message at the end! Cheering you on whatever you decide.
Holy cow! When I saw those first flakes I said out loud....uh-oh. glad you're all ok and I'm glad you got to see such beautiful things even though it had to be scary. I took a hundred pictures in my head while I watched.
You folks have added a lot of color to MY life. Thank you! Happy Trails. Goat
Wow, so sweet Mary Poppins came looking for you. Fall colors, snow and smoke. Again amazing. Keep trekking. 😀

Hiking in all that smoke must be hard! Troopers!
Thanks for sharing the hike 🙌 was curious about conditions after that snow. Glad you all hiked out strong 🥾
One of the most beautiful walks I’ve seen. Am I right I saying that you couldn’t see all of this from a car? Makes me want to head west from Ohio! Stay safe- stay adventurous. ❤️

Outstanding! That looked like a tough stretch but love your positive attitudes even in the cold high altitudes.
Even though we just went through there it looks so different a month later! I want to go back!
So inspiring! Love seeing Mt. Whitney behind you. I hope the next time you go through Kings Canyon its not so Smokey. You three hike on - hurray for trail angels.

You ladies are badass! You are making this happen. Thank you for letting us join you on the journey! You got this!
Wow... you hit it all in this one! Terrain, altitude, weather are no match for The Wander Women♥ Go WaWo.
You are brave women! It’s been three years now that I have been on the verge of hiking the section you just completed. Lord willing, 2022 will be the year. Thank you for taking time to share your great adventures. 💕❤️
You ladies are simply AMAZING!!!
Over and over again, your tenacity astounds me!
I'm sad you didn't get to see the Rae Lakes in their glory - but that provides a good reason to come back and do the section again.
Awesome trip Lady's Thank you for sharing. Happy Hiking
You guys have been doing great!! And the scenery (aside from the smoke) is so beautiful! Glad the snow didn’t get any worse.
Awesome video.. congrats on all the mountains passes way to go!!!👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wander Women rock!! I love your ambition and your lifestyle!! Hike on!! You inspire us to get off our butts and get out there!!!

Superb Sharing Great Women! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Wow, thank you for watching!
Mary Poppins to the rescue I love it. Loved the waterfalls, colors and even the snow. Glad I didn't get to experience the cold with it!!!

Beautiful colors and scenery and some tough conditions!
Yeeesss y’all are in beast mode! I have section hiked the JMT and that section is spectacular. Stay safe WaWo ☮️
Was getting a little worried since we hadn’t heard from you. I didn’t realize how long this stretch was. Glad you are okay. Thanks for the video!
Yeah, worrying is a thing for us.
Just catching up! Wow stunning scenery and my word you ladies have some grit & determination!!
Omg you gals are brave. Glad your safe, sounds terrifying
Watched three times, great 👍 video! Hike 🚶 on!

Thank you and you are right about Mel. She was with us all the way.
Amazing , tough women you gals are! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful to see this section in the fall!
Gorgeous views! Love the reflections in the water! Y’all are amazing…enduring snow, cold, rocks and smoke. Your trail angels are awesome. It was good to see Mary Poppins again. These videos are the highlight of my evenings. Thank you for sharing!
LOve you girls. Thank you for taking us along...
Post-holing through the Nevadan orogeny, you gals are living large!
Wow what a hike. You are better women than I! Time to head south for the winter, it’s warmer 😀🌞

We love Utah. Glad you got out there.
So glad I still have you to follow while I recoup from hip replacement surgery. My CDT and AT peeps are done. Hike on ladies!
Good luck on your recovery.
Nine days, I didn't realize you wouldn't post for so long and I was beginning to worry. You sure ran into some challenging weather. You glad you made it through there safely. I would hate being so cold. Of course the W.W. just keep going. Take care, be safe.

I was definitely worried when I realized the was snow coming down up high. As usual, WW find a way. I’m hoping by your comment you are considering bypassing Forester Pass. But whatever you all decide to do will be the right choice. You go!
