- The person who accused me wasn't just some random fan. It was the Pirates' bullpen catcher! See for yourself -- this was total B.S. And just so you know, I've attended more than 1,600 Major League Baseball games over the past 30 years and never knocked anyone down. That's not what I do or who I am. I'll admit that I reached in front of people for some toss-ups many years ago, but I learned from my mistakes. Now I try to be generous, and I've always been extremely careful not to bump into anyone, so this kind of nonsense is super lame. There've been lots of false accusations over the years, but there's zero proof. So many lies. So many haters. So much sloppy journalism. Good thing I now have a videographer with me at most of my games so I can reject these bogus claims.
Aside from the drama during batting practice, this was a fascinating day for several reasons. First of all, stadium security finally cracked down on fans using ball-retrieving devices. Secondly, I headed up to the upper deck to take in the best view in MLB, and third, a Pirates player suffered a devastating/career-threatening injury.

Dude, thanks for saying that about PNC Park and Pittsburgh itself. Hearing someone gush like that over the city you grew up in, really put a smile on my face. I know it was small, but it really nice to hear from someone who probably sees so many beautiful cities like yourself!

You are very welcome. I wish I lived closer (or that Pittsburgh was closer to NYC) so I could visit more often. Also, I'm glad to hear that Jordan Comadena doesn't speak for the entire city, and BTW, for everyone out there suggesting that he was joking about the whole trampling thing, I can assure you that he was not. The dude has a *serious* attitude problem -- not a good way to treat people when the team struggles so much with attendance. I hope Jordan has a change of heart and learns that it's always better to treat people with kindness and respect.
Zack Hample agreed. Baseball players are supposed to be kind and friendly towards THEIR fans. Absolutely no excuse for that sort of behavior from somebody in a major league uniform.

Jabs, Why do you sell batting practice balls on ebay as "game-used"? You admit right in the descriptions that they're from BP but you still say "game-used." Example: "Up for sale I have a Rawlings Official Major League Game Used Baseball that was snagged during batting practice" . Maybe "stadium-used" but clearly not used in the game. (Or maybe you mean "used at a game but before it"?)

DrinkingTed3bear Yes but I absolutely love the feeling of catching a ball with my own glove. It’s a glorious feeling and I cherish every ball I catch. I would be actually disgusted if a guy in his mid-30’s or such jumped up on a seat in front of me and snagged my ball.

2007 A’s vs Mariners - Sitting in Left field, homerun ball lands right under the empty seat next to me. Opposite seat, is a 3 or 4 year old girl. We lock eyes, then I pause and smile and let her grab the ball. She got the ball signed and was on tv and the jumbo screens. I still smile thinking of that kid growing up with that memory. I think that is why he was mad at you.
I would love for a kid to catch a ball instead of me. I have caught several balls as a kid and resort now to giving them away. This dude is a joke and i would throw an elbow at his throat trying to catch a ball

I used to work at a mlb stadium. We would make fun of all the middle aged toolbags that would show up 3 hours early and get all sweaty fighting each other for a 4 dollar baseball.

The bullpen catcher is actually my old hitting coach, no joke! He went to Purdue University, and I live about 2 blocks away from its campus. He’s actually a nice guy. However, you should probably just let the fans have fun, in my opinion.

Yeah, I ran into that coach before. I went to two home games in a row when the Giants where playing the pirates. I got one from Clint hurtle in the first game, I was also asking Jordan in the first game for a baseball with no result. In the second game a bullpen pitcher was about to toss one too me, he said “No, No, he already got one”. Still mad about it
These ball players are not only super petty, but then accusing you of running over people, lol. Yes, I had a recent experience at Busch stadium with a Pirates player. I politely asked for him to toss me a bp ball and he was a complete asshole to me. The whole pirates bp threw 1 ball to a kid and the rest back to the ball boy. Balls that were rolling all the way to the back wall with kids standing there begging for them to be tossed the ball, didn’t matter. They always threw them back.
That's terrible.
First of all, that kid is WAY to young to catch a home run, let alone with his BARE HANDS. Second of all, the kids dad pulled him out of the way from the baseball. And third, the kid might have gotten hit and seriously injured from the ball, Zack you did him a favor.

Being a Major League Baseball Player is basically a career and a way for these guys to make a living. Yes there are *some* players who probably do play for the fans, but there is also the fact that this is basically a job for these people.
