- A team of 8 small tanks are attempting to battle against a super boss tank! Who will win?
Rules:
Each player is represented by a marble in the plinko, which will determine which abilities are used. Players and boss have separate plinkos.
Tanks will automatically target the nearest enemy. The boss performs this check only once per second.
Tanks will automatically move towards a points a certain distance from their nearest enemy.
Bullets that collide in mid-air will destroy each other.
Every 33% of max life the boss loses, it will get another marble.
Every time 50% of players are eliminated, the remaining players will get another marble (4 players, 2 players, and last remaining player).
Player abilities:
Cannon - fires 3 small shots in a straight line.
Shield - protects the tank from damage for 3 seconds.
Missiles - fires 4 homing missiles.
Repair - restores some lost hit points.
Boss abilities:
Cannon - fires 1 shot that deals splash damage.
Shotgun - fires many small pellets in a wide arc.
Minigun - fires a stream of bullets over a few seconds.
Charge - boosts forward, dealing damage to tanks that are impacted.
Competing:
Team 1 - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Magenta and Purple
Team 2 - Boss (White)

This battle was basically dominated by the tank team till the boss got access to the charge attack, then he just mowed them down. Team wouldve died sooner if they werent shield spamming and guarding allies for sure.

I personally think the minigun attack was the beginning of the end for the tank team. The other attacks were either to easily dodged or shielded against, but once the minigun came into play? That was when the team began sustaining damage.
Yeah same thought here, red performed beautifully towards the end
Personally, the point where the boss had 3 marbels and tanky boys got 1 was the breaking point, if they had 2 marbels to his 3, maybe they could have pulled through

@@ObviouslyEvil Не только миниган, но и рывки оказали страшное влияние, ведь из-за длинных рывков в сторону маленьким танкам приходилось ехать до него выстраиваясь часто в шеренгу, а так же летящие ракеты не могли нанести урон ведь не успевали долетать и босс уничтожал их своими снарядами.

Actually, that happened a lot of times throughout the video. One tank would have a shield up and block attacks for the other tanks.
Man that was a great fight and a close battle for sure, really clutch.
It surely couldn't have been closer than this. Literal seconds and both teams died at the end.
Especially because this is an AI simulation. Really shows that Lost Marbles is excellent at balancing :D
This has to be one of the most interesting marble "races" I've seen. It combines the simple visible marble mechanism with an actual exciting AI fight. That's top tier content of its kind and I'm glad you were able to pull this off

this is pretty neat, it's kinda like a bridge between the standard mode and space battle
edit: concept for future use?: have the brightness of the marble in the plinko act as a sort of 2nd health bar display

The boss still died, in a military battle, that's not really a win, that's a draw.
I agree. From all of my test runs it was never this close so I didn't account for that being an option. But after how epic the ending was I left it as is - but I will see if I can implement a "draw" condition for instances just like this.

My first instinct is to say that the missiles are a wee bit overpowered. Comparing the missiles to the cannon on the small tanks, they do a whole lot more damage and are far less likely to miss. Similar problem to how they are in the space battles. The shotgun on the boss tank does do a good job of clearing stray missiles though, so perhaps the issue is less that the missiles are overpowered, but that the cannon becomes relatively useless, especially when the boss starts dashing.
Some ideas, then:
- Make the small tank cannon shots faster, so they're more likely to hit the boss even when it maneuvers. Maybe space the three-round burst a bit more, so the three shots are a half-second apart each, rather than all together fired within a half-second. You can flavor the boss' cannon to be a mortar instead, with the slow shot and area damage.
- With how much the tanks are moving around, some kind of mine dispenser weapon would be interesting I think. For the boss, specifically.
- Second chances. If the boss receives extra firepower (esp. with mines), it could be interesting to give the small tanks a 'second chance' (and third, etc) to continue fighting. If the tank's HP reaches 0, it stops being able to move and fire, and is counted 'out', becoming disabled. The boss won't actively aim at it. If the boss drives over a disabled tank (or dashes into it) the tank is permanently destroyed. However if a friendly tank bumps into it, the tank receives a little 10HP pick-me-up from the friendly, and can continue fighting. I don't know how balanced it would be or how well it would work, but it's an idea, heh. :P

Some great ideas, thank you! The missiles are intentionally stronger as it is ultimately still a game of chance, but perhaps a bit too powerful compared to the cannon. The cannon bullet speed was fine tuned so that tanks can still dodge by just driving around.
Next version I'm working on has a multiply or release type cannon instead.
Mortar idea is is a good solution for one of the scrapped weapon ideas I had - a Nuke that travelled slowly and detonated at a set distance. A mortar visual would definitely look better!
@@lostmarbles2d I think shields can be changed, it can be destroyed, but it will disappear after longer than 3 seconds
Boss can enter to "rage mode" after the hit points is reduced to a certain amount, then the boss will be tougher to beat
The shells should fall onto the ground after travelling too far(limited range for each type of attacks)
Damn, it took down all the tanks but it would seem they still got it
They still lost as the boss survived with 56 HP before Red's remaining shots caught up with it, so it's not like there's a definitive tie
you gotta make a playable version man this would low key be a co-op game I would play!

@@lostmarbles2d tanks control like tanks, but have the marble system and have them stock up on that type of attack. It would be too over powered if the boss could spam mini gun, so have a limit of 3 on all his attack stockpile, and 5 on the normal tanks stockpile. Charge would also be overpowered in separating one from the group, so give the small tanks a smaller dash.
I did not expect such a game to keep me that engaged. And the very close finish really it for me, cheering for every missile salvo that got caught by the minigun

This battle is incredibly well made!
Ideas I got:
Make the boss tank have a true form, like a spaceship hybrid!
Make the boss tank heal itself.
Make the boss tank have weak points, then the main weak spot after them.

The boss’s themes should be:
Fixions - Maniac (1st form)
DM DOKURO - Universal Collapse (final form)
Also add more boss abilities like:
Boss summons enemies of any type, including minibosses
Boss has a voice (you can add voice lines that we can see too to make it look like TDS on Roblox)
Boss has shield hp
Boss can shield himself for 5 seconds
Boss’s name should be like ‘Metallion’
Boss’s final form name should be ‘True Metallion’

Even tho i didnt like the space battle, I thought it was great. in the future i would like to see this again, with other things, like the charged shot where if the team shot are near each other and of the same type combine into a faster and/or stronger version of it, kinda like in the space painting one
Not gonna lie, I'm actually rooting for the boss tank to survive until the end. At first it seems underpowered with only cannon available, at least until all of the weapons unlocked it becomes a force to be reckoned with.

I think little tanks should get increaced hp regen from repairing, and boss should get abillity to gain 1 hp from attacking, but getting this abillity when tanks get repair abillity

I knew the second the movement tech came into play it was over for the liytle tanks
at first it felt like the big one was underpowered

I thought about that, but it's really tough to balance because of the power difference when there are only a few players left. I might add it as a rare option in a future version.
