Having a live audience makes shark tank feel like an infomercial. It also fundamentally changes the negotiations when sharks are trying to out negotiate each other.

Scrub Daddy was one of her most successful deals. This guy has a winning invention for sure. A way to store leftover pizza without taking up so much fridge space. I can see one in every household and I’m sure Lori can too. This is worth soooooo much more than $1.5 million and Mark knew it too. He was trying to buy it on the cheap

Yeah that's right. but whats bothering me the most is at this point few sharks just want to sabotage Lori's deal, the moment they see that Lori can make a great hit with the hero product and an entrepreneur they just come in and make weird offer.

This is chaotic guys!!! An audience wasn’t the best option. Like the sharks seem more nervous, lots of yelling, awkward interruptions and too nice now compared to previous seasons.

The live audience makes it feel like a daytime talk show and hearing the sharks strain their voices trying to talk over them is awkward. Seeing Phil Crowley do the live announcements is the best. Keep him around!

The Live Audience takes the seriousness and the edge of everything. Even the Sharks are finding a hard time to ask the right questions and really size up the business, person and product. Maybe this idea needs a bit of time. But with the Audience there, I'm sure the Entrepreneurs are going to make bad deals. Sharks are going to make deals just to please the crowd, then drop out of it later.

Another think to point out, having live audience makes this show look like a game show.
The audience can easily make the sharks make unwise decisions and make deals that actually they wouldn't have made if the audience wasn't there cz they're somehow a destruction 😭😭

Relax guys! The live audience format is only for this one episode (Season 14, Episode 1), so the rest of the season is the usual Shark Tank we all know and love.
Their behavior is completely different with an audience. It feels so fake and like they're performing
the live audience has a impact on the negotiation in a lot of ways i think its better and a lot more personal when its just the sharks. They already have enough pressure and adding a live audience just compounds that.
The live audience benefits the seller crazy. Sharks just want to make a deal.
Tbh I don’t think the sharks gaf what anyone thinks but it’s way easier for the entrepreneur to catch sympathy. It goes from one of the most actually real serious shows to just a joke.

5 million is actually very fair request. This company in 5 years will have more than 5 million in sales and seeing the margins it’s fantastic!

That is why most sharks jumped in and Mark even offered to buy the entire company. Of course he would play with numbers but he knows where it’s going to be in few years

Yeah but it would take years for that to happen. The value in marks offer is that he could take the money and work on different inventions during the same timeframe. So by the time this company would’ve been worth $5M he may have developed other companies and retained full ownership
His company can make 5m or can he make that? Company Revenue and liquid cash are two different things.

It’s more raw with a live show makes it more awkward sure but I think the entrepreneurs have a better chance when the sharks are thinking in the moment subconsciously impressing the crowd
but they dont really have a better chance since the sharks can still back out of a deal after the episode is done

Was there a demand for live Shark Tank? As far as I know their ratings are still huge so I don't get why they're trying this gimmick. I like Shark Tank a whole lot better without the Sharks trying to please a live audience.
Because it is not fair without an audience. I watch black entrepreneurs get sliced up without hesitation. At least with audience input there might be a little hesitation before crushing a dream.

The audience ought to be buying the products presented in real time and the viewer can see what percentage of the audience is buying from pitch to close.

The announcer's voice is gold! ...excellent choice because he's looking long term instead of short term.
All I can say is that I'm happy to finally put a face to the voice of the show.
I love shark tank. What gets me is how many people I talk to that love shark tank and still don't have a diverse portfolio just one thing job income. What happens if something goes wrong. I remember my business ethics professor at Harvard told us never have all your eggs in one basket cause eventually that basket of eggs will Crack. He was a professor plus had several business ventures. He had lots of stock too. Every thursday he would show us companies he invested in, ,stocks he bought you name it and why. He changed my life! Question students asked was how was he able to juggle so much,he Said leveraging others.
I’m curious to know two things: (1) how long it has been since you took that course at Harvard; and (2) how diversified is your portfolio in terms of income streams? Obviously it takes time to build up enough capital to jumpstart a new revenue stream.

What's funny is that I've had the same product but with holes at the bottom and two extendable handles on the sides to be used as a dish holder, or food product holder/rinser over the sink, or a rice or pasta strainer....he literally took the exact same collapsible product and simply put a lid on it and took off the retractable side handles.
