X was my favorite in terms of gameplay so I'm happy they added stuff from that along with 1 and 2, I'm also just a fan of class systems like FF Job systems. The thing I like the most so far is how soon you get your core 6 main characters so we have more time to be with everyone instead of getting everyone halfway through.

Can't wait for the videos you'll make now that the game is out :D
Dear god I forgot X existed, granted I have only played the first game but still…
The Heroes also reminded me of the optional party members in Xenoblade X, but I didn't even stop and consider the potential for some really excellent sidequests. While I have plenty of problems with X, it easily has the best sidequests in the series, and though plenty of the "normal" quests are excellent and memorable, the standouts are of course the voice acted affinity missions that flesh out and develop these optional party members that don't feature much in the main story.
Agreed, I loved the affinity missions and optional characters, they might have been one of my favourite parts about X
They are also like rare blades in Xenoblade 2.
