Did you miss my reaction to the Ballad of Jane Doe? Here it is! • Vocal Coach Reacts | R... Видеоклипы
So a little bit of explanation for this song, Misha is singing about his fiancé ,Talia, that he met online through is RUclips rapping career (hence the techno part of the song). In the musical he explains how he is saving up to move back to Ukraine so that he can marry her. He has never met Talia IRL.
He’s a rapper?! That’s GOLD 😂
@@singwithAshley yep! there’s a song called, and i quote, “this song is awesome” which showcases his rapping skills and the beauty of autotune.
He also raps in auto tune when he gets angry, this whole techno thing is a reflection of his anger that he’ll never see her if he doesn’t win this
@@singwithAshley it's also theorize that the techno part of the song is his angry with not being with Talia with "I wanna get with you baby" being an straightforward anger response. While the first half being his sadness about losing Talia
@@singwithAshley There’s also subtle hints that there was no actual relationship.
The most we ever find out about her from him is that she styles her hair just like a Ukraine female politician and that she leaves MOSTLY positive feedback on his youtube comment wall (so trolling, catfishing or just misread signals, who knows)
One character constantly calls her his “imaginary girlfriend”
Then when the sentient fortune telling machine in the afterlife (yeah… it’s a whole other thing) offers him the chance to see what their life would have been like together, every character desperately tries to convince him that it’s a very bad idea while at the same time trying not to break his heart. In the end convincing him that the dream he has of them is better than even the greatest version that could have been in real life.
Then again I could be over-reading into it, and it’s just an healthy extreme long distance relationship for two people who have never met and only ever spoken to each other on youtube comment sections and text.
"do we like him ?"
um, we love him actually, thank you very much
YESSS
I LOVE HIM
Oh my looooove my Miiiiiishaaaaa
YES WE DI 😩😩
You're right, Gus's mic was definitely quieter than all the other actors. It's harder to hear him almost the whole show.
It depends on the recording/ performance, I think they were just having issues in that run, because in other clips of the song you can hear him much better
I reckon it might also be because he's singing in a different language, so we can't pick up on/ distinguish his words so easily? I've noticed that in other multilingual songs too so that was my thought. Of course I say this just assuming that you don't speak Ukrainian.
I’m pretty sure in this specific song he’s singing quietly to try and convey sadness
i think they turned his down a little bit on purpose bc they know he can project really well, idk tho😭
fun fact: this song is based on Ukrainian folk music and the majority of it is in Ukrainian!
lyrics:
Кохаю
Я тебе кохаю, ooh
talia, oh my talia
my talia
Я тебе кохаю
oh, my love!
translation:
my love
how i love you, ooh
talia, oh my talia
my talia
how i love you
oh, my love!
it's (quite literally) a declaration of love. there's a pleading in his voice, and he keeps on reaching out for her, but can't get to her since she slips through his fingers every time. after this song, he's offered to listen to the future he could've had with talia, and when he says "yes, i would _desperately--",_ he is advised against it; "you have a yearning, and it's better to leave it that way. whatever he'll say will only ruin it."
Noel knows his romance stuff (and probably doesn’t believe Talia is real either)
I think it’s worth pointing out that Mischa was forced to watch the marriage he could never have thought the entirety of the song :(
OUCH 😭
That hurt my soul-
so basically mischa is from Ukraine and he moves to Canada after getting adopted because his mother was dying and he is very neglected by his adopted parents so he turned to rap music as an outlet for his rage. He met talia in his RUclips comment section and they started online dating and they're engaged by the time the play begins. it's suspected that she is a catfish but we never get conformation if she's real or not. Mischa has a song just before this one called ' this song is awesome' where he raps and its supposed to lead right into 'talia' as he switches from rage to passion.
Also the very upbeat dancing part of talia is him slipping back into rage because he knows that he can't be with talia anymore due to his death.
I love the idea that he was being catfished, because that may have been why his soul was so open to kissing Noel. He had unknowingly been dating a man for so long that his soul is now more willing to be intimate with a man.
@@atticuspacey2374 oooooo
@@atticuspacey2374 WOW i actually love this sm
@@RaspyRat yeah, i just love how open ride the cyclone is to this sort of speculation. The writers managed to make us feel so familiar with these characters while still leaving so much unknown about them. This is what really make RTC so amazing
@@atticuspacey2374 yea :)
little quote from the musical: Mischa Bachinski, Ukrainian bad boy, catch phrase: My gangster persona is just armor to conceal that I am naked child wandering through the wilderness holding in my hands my wounded fragile heart…
This is probably my favorite line in the show.
Yes we LOVE Mischa. He’s so special he gets two songs, one is an autotune rap, and the other is talia. He’s a Ukrainian “bad boy” who is a rough alcoholic angry teenager. The only thing he truly loves is talia, his Ukrainian fiancé he met online. No one actually knows if she’s real, this could very well be a song about him making up a lover in his head to love. But he’s a very complex yet funny character, pretty sad the more you look into it. He’s singing this in the afterlife, meaning he had to leave talia and it’s just a song about how much he loves and misses her it’s quite sweet
Oh, if you think he goes high, you should TOTALLY see Noel’s Lament from Ride the Cyclone!!!
Love Kholby (the actor for Noel), super talented!!!
It’s a great laugh.
Can’t wait!
There's also a pretty nice high note in Space Age Bachelor Man imo
YES! Noel lament 🙏🙏
and yes!
@@singwithAshley YES! Definitely do Noel’s lament or sugar cloud next!
Ik this is late but I haven’t seen anyone really mention this. The techno part represents a line he said right before his first song “Ukrainian men have two emotions, rage and passion”. His first song “this song is awesome” represents his rage and “Talia” represents his passion. The techno is a representation of him being angry that he will never get to meet Natalia.
there's a video now called "Talia but Misha's mic isn't quiet" where you can hear Gus' vocals way better
Oh, we love Mischa, make no mistake lol
Two songs that'll confuse you even more are Noel's Lament and Space Age Bachelor Man
Hope you are enjoying the ride!
pun intended
Bro imagine going to watch this musical after just listening to Ballad Of Jane Doe expecting a classic sounding musical and then getting hit with a sex cat space Jesus thing
@@mikejason5621ght before the classical song you came in expecting the whole musical to be nonetheless
I watched rtc and I still don’t get space age bachelor man where tf did I come from
He's the best rapper in all North Eastern sescachuan 🤙🏼
*Saskatchewan!
Id like to point out that Talia, a girl Mischa has never met, is being onto Jane Doe, a girl with no identity. She's the perfect canvas for him to project her onto
In the techno theme, I'm pretty sure he's going from singing his heart out the girl he loves because he'll never see her again to him being kind of enraged, you know? This is kind of a sad moment for him because he's never going to see her again, and she'll be left wondering why he "ghosted him" out of no where. In the musical, he plays a very masculine boy but on the inside he's a .. not fragile but almost lonely in his own way. His song goes from 'Oh I want to see Talia.. I want her.' to a 'I won't ever see her again'. And he doesn't know how to express it... if this makes any sense at all.
Honestly kinda sad we didn’t get an official recording of Gus helper who plays Mischa in this performance 😭
Awe!!
oh ho ho, just WAIT until you hear the cast recording’s version!! Chaz Duffy, that version’s Mischa, has a more operatic technique-he just lets his vibrato fly, and it is STUNNING. because there isn’t the dance, he also sustains that last “oh my love” straight into the section of longer vocalizations-it’s practically a religious experience to hear. There’s also that beautiful effortless flip into the very last note, and the final consonant on it gets me every time-it’s a masterclass in acting a song, you can hear the pure yearning in every syllable. I adore this song and every performance of it; enjoy the rest of your journey into the Cyclone!
Mischa is my favorite character and i desperately need more reaction to this song because it is awesome!(pun intended) Mischa's entire character is so tragic and still manages to seem like a cool guy without seeming to seek for attention, Mischa's character and Gus's performance is all together just madwickedawesome
100% same.
FUN FACT!! At The start of the song misca was saying “ya tebe gohayu”(obv written in Cyrillic but I can’t read that lol) which translates to I love you from Ukrainian, so basically he starts his song by saying I love you in his home language❤❤
Crying now
AAWAW IT MAKES ME SO SAD
PJSK AND RTC FAN???? MARRY ME
It's actually "ya tebe kokhayu", but yes!
You probably should have done This Song is Awesome and Talia together, I mean they make no sense together but they're both Mischa's songs.
What's really cool about this song is that it's got heavy Ukrainian theme/scandinavian notes which is such a contrast from his last song. As a Swede, I absolutely love love love this song - reminds me of midsummer's at home :)
Oh this is so sweet! Thank you for watching!
For high notes, I next recommend either Noel's Lament or Space Age Bachelor Man. For songs that might break your heart, Sugarcloud or It's Not A Game/It's Just A Ride. For a fun bop of a time, What The World Needs or This Song Is Awesome (the precursor to Talia). If you want a little bit of spooky, look for Karnak's Dream of Life 😏
Basically, just the whole musical 😅😂 going in with no context and out of order is such a chaotic thing and it makes for great sequential reactions imo.
Edit: by the way, the "style" of this song is meant to be Ukrainian folk music or a love ballad, I believe. I'm not entirely certain on that, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Talia is Mischa's online fiancee from his home country. They met through his youtube rapping career, best exemplified in the song before this: "This Song is Awesome." It is a common theory that he's being catfished by her. The projections represent the romanticized version of her that he has in his head.
Ah! So when the pictures of Talia appear it's not a memory ( karnak which is a fortune telling machine who sets the base rules) shows what life would have been if Mischa had not died on the roller coaster along with the 5 other choir members
As a Talia, this feels so obscure because I’m really not used to my name being in stuff like this
But glorious! Yes?
The transition from his passionate singing to a more techno vibe is meant to show his anger about not being able to be with Talia. He says earlier in the play that when he rages he sings in autotune, which then leads to his first song (which shows his anger), this song (which is his love for talia), and the last part of this song where he is angry again.
Ah Talia is my favourite song from the musical and Mischa is my favourite character so seeing someone finally review this song just made my day
Technically this is half a song the "solos" of each character are in order
What the world needs(ocean)
Noel's lament(noel)
This song is awesome/talia(Misha)
Space age bachelor man (Ricky)
The ballad of Jane doe (Jane)
Jawbreaker/Sugar cloud (constance)
Mishas song is split into two solo acts making them the same length as the others
Constance song is just sugar cloud but jawbreaker is a speech she gives before singing and the first thing ever written for ride the cyclone.
honestly all the actors are so talented and all the songs slap so hard that it's difficult to decide which to ask for next 😂
if you want to lose every sense you have of what you think this musical is about: noel's lament
if you want to do the above x2: space age bachelor man
if you want to listen to the only song that makes sense for the premise of "character singing to argue why they should be allowed back to life" and what could double as a villain song in most other musicals: what the world needs
if you want to hear some nice harmonies and get a bare smidge of context for what is happening: fall fair suite
sugarcloud is amazing but i do think you should save that one for the end (other than yunno, the actual finale) bc the emotional impact does somewhat rely on constance being the last member of the choir to sing her piece. but WHAT a piece it is!! i was crying during a recorder solo LOL
(To explain the techno part, its explained that Mischas anger is shown via auto tune, so that part was his anger over not being able to be with her)
You HAVE to listen to what the world needs and/ or Noel’s lament. The songs get crazier as they go but they never fail to be absolute bops
Like the cast recording says "The second part of this will make no sense out of context."
I like to think the reason Mischa is so quiet is because the overwhelming thought of Talia is louder in his head then himself
aw i love that
But it’s prolly just the audio mixing tho lol
@@G00dTaste prob but it's nice to have headcannons
AAH FR
YES
Noel's lament and what the world needs are both super good and I think they show off those actors vocals super well,, very catchy as well, they all basically have their own style of music
when she said "spanish" I was like "what??????"
🤣
Michsa said earlier about rage and passion. The techno is the transition from passion to rage about losing her.
2:20 oh no we definitely love mischa !!
The "r" is the characters accent, he has a Ukrainian accent, bc he if from Ukraine, the words most people can't understand are the Ukrainian words, which is him repeating "my love" this en "I love you my love"
I will always love the fact that they project Thalia's image in Jane's Doe dress, because they didn't know who she was so she could be anyone, and Misha also never met Thalia so he also didn't knew how she really was
This show is so fing perfect
For context mischa is Ukrainian and moved to Canada, talia is very much reminiscent of folk music. He’s singing about his fiancé talia who lived back in Ukraine, he never met her as they met online and he was planning on moving back to Ukraine to be with her before he died
WE LOVE MISCHA IN THIS HOUSE HOLD
also yes it is kids who have died
We love him don’t worry Ashley (also yes all of them are in high school)
I know some people are asking for space age bachelor man (which is also very good!) but there are some very apparent differences between the cast album and the stage recording. in the stage recording there are some moments where it feels kind of awkward because there’s long pauses, though the visuals are great. if you want to listen to the more vocally full (?? idk what other word to use) I would recommend the cast recording (or both!)
Ok ok ok, please please PLEASE do Noel's Lament next!! It's another different vibe entirely, that or Sugar Cloud!
I was so happy when i saw that it was Gus Halper! dont get me wrong the other guy who sings the spotify soundtrack is amazing, but I just love how Gus shows emotion in such a raw way!!!
please do what the world needs , sugar cloud , or noels lament next!!!
I'm really enjoying learning about all these techniques from you ^_^
If you are going to react to more of them, may I recommend doing so in order? I think the story will make a bit more sense. That and i just think the first song is really cool
First time seeing your channel! As soon as I heard you repeat his "Talia" I instantly subscribed! Holy heck youre an amazing singer!
You should react to the song Fall Fair Suite, it's the best song in the entire musical IMO! 💞
A little note on the projections, this is kinda a dream ballet of their hypothetical wedding
yessssssss i’d be so hype for a full reaction video of you watching the whole musical‼️
Everyone here is explaining the song itself but I don't think anyone has actually explained the musical. For anyone who wants to know. It's about these 6 kids: Ocean, Costance, Ricky, Noel (Nole), Mischa, and Jane Doe. All are in the St. Cassian Chamber Choir well unsure abt Jane Doe cause the choir director Father Marcus died several hours later. But this fortune telling machine Karnak can accurately predict when and how you'll die. But after a freak accident on a roller coaster the Cyclone the kids died. Karnak brought them to this warehouse afterlife to bring one back to life cause he can. Because he himself is about to die life for a life. But each character gets a song to sing about something they care about. It's a really good musical my personal favourite, there are bootlegs if anyone wants to watch the whole thing. Roller coaster safety the slime tutorial was up last I checked idk.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!! You should totally do sugar cloud or Noel’s lament next!
please please PLEASE do Noel’s Lament next!! It’s really confusing and i think you’ll enjoy it!!!
plus the vocals are AMAZING
Okay so little thing on the EDM part: that part at the end embodies his rage that he never met Talia in real life
“Do we like him” if Mischa says hes hungry i will saw off my arm and cook it for him
Perfection 🤭
Mischa is louder than the ensemble on the cast recording, so I honestly think his mic was acting up in this production? Which is why he’s inaudible at times
I love this!! Absolutely please do Space Age Bachelor man next! Or Noel’s Lament
mischa is so in love with talia it’s so cute
YAYYY! please do noel’s lament or space age bachelor man next!
mischa's songs are my favorite because of the duality lol. i love how in talia, the traditional ukraine folk singing turns into crappy edm music because as stated in the musical, his passion has turned into rage lmao
This is very late. But I personally love Mischa. 2nd favorite character (1st being Jane Doe). And I have heard that it was confirmed that Talia was real, which honestly makes this song even more heartbreaking considering how he loved her so much
Better late than never!
the reason Mischa's song changes drastically is mainly because at the beginning of his monologue (every character has a monologue before their song, explaining their life since they died, in a rollercoaster accident actually! the Cyclone rollercoaster incident) he says Ukrainian men have to emotions: anger and passion, he actually has two songs! This Song is Awesome which is more rap and autotune where he talks about how his life is so great and he has money and so on, then the second one is about his life with Talia, a girl she met online through his youtube rapping channel and he feel in love with her, a lot of people say it was a scam, that she was false and some say she wasn't it's never confirmed though, that's why it changes to match more with this song is awesome and it's more "disco"
YESS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
Your reaction to Space Age Bachelor Man would be hilarious 😭
the reason jane doe is more choir like is because nobody know who she is or her personality so they based her song of of "oh yeah she is in the choir and this is a carnival so lets make a choir like song!" the rest of the songs represent the personalities, dreams and ambitions of the choir but jane doesnt have any of that so she is just the corpse with no head that is part of the choir hence the church songs vibe, misha is a romantic thats why he sings about his love, noel is a baddie so he sings about wanting to be a h00ker in france and so on and on, i feel so bad for jane tho her character its just so melancholic and this songs makes me cry my heart out this musical makes me so sad :(
the way youre reacting to my favorite song, in my favorite musical and then you mentioned my favorite movie (the breakfast club)😭
#Fate
I like to think that the disco at the end is his personality or his favorite type of music is sneaking in and that it’s just who he is and what he likes. Bc if you listen to ‘this song is awesome’ (the transition song right before Thalia) he says his rage has subsided. I only say this bc I feel that this shows that’s how much he feels about Thalia. Showing the person you wanna be with what you really like is really showing how much they mean to you
I’ve been waiting for this one
1 mischa is called the bad egg on RUclips (rapper) 2 Noel’s lament next please
I hope you do space age bachelor man
sabm is my favorite one to send people who know nothing about rtc because it causes so much chaos
Im very curious to see how you'd interpret Space Age Bachelor Man😂
I would love to see you react to Sugar Cloud! It’s so underrated and she sings so good.
We love him!!!!!
We like him. We love him.
As a person from a slavic country, I smiled when I heard this the first time. It's amazing.
Mischa is amazing. He's someone us Cyclone's love
You should totally do Noel's Lament next as well as Sugarcloud I am starting to fall in love with your reactions!
The explanation for the change of beat, it’s because Mischa says “Ukrainian men just have two emotion,.. RAGE. And passion..” So, the thing its that his first sing, it’s rage (This Song is Awesome), and “Talia” Its passion, the thing its that when he feels rage, he sings more lime hip-hop/just rap (Mischa said when he feels rage, he sings about money in autotune). And thats the thing, its rage because he couldn’t get with his lovely Talia. Thats why the “I wanna be w you baby” ;)
Also, the video of Talia singing i kinda think its more like, how HE imagined him with her, like, be finally together and dancing. Like a daydream or like he would talk a lot of the idea of her and him in the free camp. (Sorry I really have a bad English).
Your English is great! Thanks for the information! Sing with you soon!
The reason (that I think is true) why it turned into techno, is because in his other song, he said "when I rage I rap about money in auto tune" techno is kind of similar (kind of) but hes mad he'll never get to see taila ever again
Honestly I’d love for you to react to Noel’s Lament or Sugar Cloud from Ride The Cyclone! That would be amazing!
I love this musical so much and id love it if you made a react on my favorite song, Noel's lament, because its overall a really fun song and i think youd love it! Plus im sure youd get surprised by some parts of the song
He goes techno because he’s a youtube rapper who loves auto tune, he sings 2 songs and the other one is CRAZY
and Talia is a girl online and it’s speculated that it’s noel catfishing him, we never know if she’s real
I hope Noel is catfishing him 😂
I can't WAIT For you to react to noels lament and what the world needs
I can't wait for you to react to Noel's Lament :)
Міша з України, та у самій пісні він українською каже "я тебе кохаю"))
і весь цей ансамбль та вбрання - українські традиційні, ми у хорі таке співали. дякую за ваш розбір!
I’d love for u to react to space age bachelor man from rtc!! :)
(I’m a musical theatre student btw so I love these types of videos ughhh)
There are a lot of comments here, so I don't know if you will see this or someone has already said this. But, I recommend Fall Fair Suite as an eventual reaction. It doubles as a really good song and a little bit of an explanation. It's one of my favorite songs. I also recommend Noel's Lament.
God i love this musical
In the musical it is said that he raps when he is angry and sings for passion, so in the beginning he is singing out of love and passion for talia but then he is realising that he will never meet her (because they met online) so he is angry at that and he starts rapping/the techno music starts.
You should definitely also listen to the cast recording of this song :D!! It sounds a bit different but it's also really good
WE LOVE HIM
We do! 🤣
WE NEED THIS SONG IS AWESOME
YOU LOOK LIKE OCEAN FROM THIS MUSICAL!! UR SO PRETTYYYY
And YOURE SO SWEEET!! Thank you for singing with me!
i think you would like sugar cloud! i would also love to see you react to space age bachelor man, its my favorite lol
you should definitely check out either the Uranium Suite or Space Age Bachelor man!
the screen is projecting an idealized interpretation of what he wished he could have had in his life. he has died and the story takes place in a limbo type of thing
We love him
Yes! That is Jane Doe. However, her real name is Penny Lamb! (spoiler) PLUS: It's not so much a memory, rather a fantasy, or dream kind of.
Oh no! Not a spoiler!! Luckily I watched the full musical before I read this comment 🤣
Talia is basically the one person he had left, that he truly he wanted be around, and she is across the world, and can only be reached through his phone.
