Bro, im not far from you at all. Plan on hitting Pleasure Island friday night under some lights. A couple observations, if i may. Your use of so much rice wine vinegar made your Trout into a civeche, of sorts. If you'll get a bamboo mat, your rolls will turn out so much better. I was blessed to be married to a half Japanese lady for many years. Such a blessing in my life. She loved to fish. ❤
Yes, it was like a take on ceviche, but with a Korean twist. Still "raw", but not "raw". A bamboo mat would have been better, but I need to get one! Thanks for watching!
That line on your check it stick marks 1 inch. It is not the starting point for measuring. The check it stick is designed to measure by butting the closed mouth of the fish against the 90 degree angle part of the stick. You are adding an inch to each measurement by measuring the way you are in this video. If that 2nd fish measured out at 15.5 then it was really 14.5 and an illegal fish.
Nope, the check it stick adds 2 inches at minimum to the overall length. I measured twice and made sure. The scribe is 1.125" to the left of the 2" mark, making it well within state regulations.
@@1836FishingOutdoors the check it stick does not add any length to the measurement when used correctly. Its the most accurate way of measuring and even the measuring device game wardens use when they check your fish which they do by butting the closed mouth of the fish against the 90 degree angle.
Best Catch and Cook I've ever seen.
Thanks man! More to come for sure 🎣

I never go fishing without a net or two, one for land fishing, one for wading.
Words of the wise, idk why I leave nets at home 😆
Where was that place you were fishing from? And thanks for the content like your style of fishing.
It was the intracoastal canal in Port Arthur. Thanks, I really appreciate it! 🎣
Hey bro can you say what part of Texas? Not asking location you're fishing . Good vid.🎣🤙🏽
Thanks man! I'm fishing sabine pass on pleasure island, lots of random places you can fish.

@@Dawson184 If you used it "as indended" on a 28.5" redfish and you didn't have a tag, and got checked you'd get a fine.
@@1836FishingOutdoors lmk how it goes next time you get checked
I was wondering why there were 2 different measurements. Which one does the game warden use? That's the one I'm going with 😅
Nice vid
Much appreciated man!
Looked like you had the cork set to 1.5ft but you said 5 ft 🤔
It was a slip float, so it looks like 1.5, but there's a stopper on the line that allows it to sink to a specified depth 🎣
Im not a fan of sushi but that looked pretty good!
Thanks man! Definitely gotta do this one again with a different fish!
I would be that guy catching nothing.
With that attitude! Just gotta give it time.
I am going crappy fishing in my new pond prowler 8. Lake Conroe.
Nothing wrong with that, crappie are great!
Throw a lure
😂 you got me there
