@@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan Golf is fun again. Need to book a lesson to put it all together. The only sticking issue is the right knee down move. Haven't been able to synch it with tempo.
Old school is true school, your explanation is 100% right. It's a natural accurate powerful swing, adapurful in power and touch. The Alfa and Omega in the art of golf. In a true sense your inside right fore arm is exchanging power and swing natural motion to your left inside forearm throughout. Well done bro, well done. Nod UK
Yes and also pulling and turning diagonally,; but not lifting up as another You Tube instructor teaches in his miracle OTT swing; but does not actually do it in his personal swing. Cheers
I played golf with a young man that was a 350 batting average with Maritime College. He was hitting like a pro. His six iron went around 200 yards. His swing was the most like Hogan I have ever seen. He was a line drive hitter. He could have easily been a pro. I feel what anchors the golf swing is knowing that the hips end the backswing and the hips begin the downswing.
Yes specifically the firing( pulling) of the left hip back which immediately activates the diagonals arms and rotates the trail hip and knee pointing at the target. Lesson 5 of Ben Hogan explain the automatic chain of events of the downswing to the finish of his beautiful swing. Cheers 👍😊🥂
Whenever I have had trouble striking the ball I would try simply bending my right elbow more readily in the beginning of the backswing. It led to more effectively striking the ball. I worried that bending my right elbow too quickly upset power in the swing. But if doesn’t negate the tension in the backswing. It’s more reassuring to not need to bring the hands up in the backswing. To keep the hands just under the right shoulder is a better set up to striking the ball. With my hands a little too high I can’t effectively feel for the re-centering move in the downswing.
chris, when i swing like this it works great for while and then i start hitting pull hooks probably from a grip that is too strong. i revert back to an arm slashing type swing and that works for a while but i know it's not correct. i will have to work on my grip so i can keep the hogan type swing going which feels so correct to me when it works. thnx for the help.
Check grip for sure but also keep in mind that you want to keep turning or moving to finish the swing. When you start feeling the arms swing by is when you absolutely know the lower body has shut down. Hope that helps.
@@steveperry1344 Hi Steve at 77 I now call myself the hip golfer: My right hip opens up for my backswing and my left hip opens up for my downswing. Like you whenever I forget about my precious hips turning and being central to my swing my arms and hands takes over in a multitude of bad ways. . Cheers 👍🥂😊
Hi chris and thanks. You have also used the base ball motion to understand hogans swing. The pully lever idea seems a bit different. Am i misunderstanding? Rgds
When I load and coil correctly it feels like I get the best result when my arms wrists and hands become soft on the downswing and release like whipping someone with a towel. As long as I keep my focus on maintaining a tight center that my hips move round my contact point and swing timing remain consistent. Would that sound to you like I’m doing the right thing because it feels incredibly powerful yet easy
Yes and starting with my hand up I feel complete pulling motion of my entire backside. I think some have called this relaxed tension as I am letting it happen naturally with my diagonal upper arms across my chest. Cheers
I'm confused. The first video I saw was you demonstrating the Ben Hogan grip but when I watch this video you're not placing your thumb on the left side of the club. What's going on here)
First, Did your ball 1) start straight and then go left (maybe) 2) start moving left and go more left (probably) 3) start right and move too much back to the left (probably not). Also, is your distance inconsistent and is the flight higher than what it should be when you hit it very well. These questions will get at your path and dumps by if the wrist angles.
You have to hit the ball, with the whole golf shaft, and you have to keep your left shoulder moving left.... (around the corner ). Or, maybe you're flipping your club at impact. I assure you that Chris knows his business.
You never saw Phil Jackson take or make a 3... but i guarantee you'd listen to his advice on creating shooting space beyond the arc. Just sayin.... I personally prefer less shot taking and more analysis and explanation. But I do see the merit in your question. 👍
@@samuelcole5728 then Chris should have a student on his channel absolutely ripping shots down the middle. He's given us zero proof that his method actually works.
@@Daniel_V23the proof is in the the pudding you mixed from listening to all of Christopher directions carefully. At age 77 his lessons has helped me tremendously. And best of all the cost is free. Cheers
This is incorrect as you’re teaching a take away that is way too much inside which will create hook shots or push right depending on rotation this take away will create inconsistency in ball striking
Just got back from the range. This definitely works. It was the missing piece of my swing. First time I've felt in total control of the club.
Chris! Tried this on the short game! Ill be damned! You're the world #1 golf instructor! Can't thank you enough for making these videos!
You're welcome. Thanks for the kind words.

Look at the mature Hogan swing, this is what he did. Nice explanation Chris. You won’t hook if you use the weak grip and keep your body turning.

another good vidoe Chris!
Thanks, glad you are watching.
Hi Christopher I like your explanation of Hogan swing far better than the other Christopher. And It didn’t cost me a dime. Cheers👍😊🥂👌

It would be how he moved the bat to get it into a position to start the forward swing in baseball, if you will.

This is a great drill to do with no shoes on. If done correctly you can really feel your feet and the amount of force pushing into the ground.

Nice the key part here is you really can start to feel things correctly.
Feeling things in the backside is fantastic. And 100% correct.
As per Sam Snead!
Hey Chris saw you at Publix a few weeks ago lol

While on topic, how much of Hogans full swing moved into his short game?

Why don't we ever see you hit a ball?
@Flatgolfswing what does that have to do with Chris hitting a golf ball or not?
@Flatgolfswing remind me of this when I start my cooking RUclips channel using pretend ingredients
