When wifey kicks you out of the house, might as well make a challenge out of it!
That was my first thought, and knowing Bjorn like we do, it was a likely 'other' reason for this challenge. But of course, we know that can't be true.
@@BobH809 Gets kicked out --> Turns it into a monetized video that will generate $$!
I think she does that regulary!
Puppet master!
Marques (MKBHD) has recently said on his podcast that he watches your videos Björn!
What podcast? Would like to see that
@@HisQ it's called waveform
"oh shit i squirted"
Bjørn Nyland - 2019
not weird at all :D
Omg yus😂😂😂😂
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
thats what she said - michael scott
13:47 when a RUclipsr who earns money from ads mentions adblock...
I loved it :-)
You are one crazy viking Björn 🤪 spending 24 hours in your car for fun.
Haha
@@JeanPierreWhite he's hybrid Viking 🤣🤣🤣
@@JeanPierreWhite exactly!
Over 200000 thousands children got adopted from Norway the last decade's mostly from Asia.
I would love to see a -40°C test with a Model 3.
Just parked outside over night on a mountain top and if it's working when you try to drive 😙🎶
That's a question I get over and over again.
Me too. I would like to see if it better or worse than optimus
@@vasekbenes6652 yeah, but without keeping the car awake. Just drop it off there and try to start it in the freezing cold.
His old X already experienced -30 and the tires froze up
@@ZillionPrey actually -36°C and frozen up tires are pretty normal under these conditions.
But the question wasn't if you can park it for some hours and sleep in it (which is quite and edge case), but park it outside normally. At these conditions.
Also the Model X is a completely different car.
He tested this witch optimus prime
Wow Björn, 27:00 minutes is your first B-roll in films. I'm impressed.
8:50 "that's what she said", 10:37 "that's what he said...
Nice 😏😂
You sir is making me fall in love with Tesla now
10:12 Pro tip: You can (in most cases) open the bottom of the bag much easier because it doesn't have the opening to hang it in the store.
Consumer advice. I like it.
First time I hear someone say "don't eat outside, eat inside the car!" is their rule 😜
If it is minus 11 deg C yes :-)
Come on Bjorn... fess up!! What on earth did you do to get kicked out on such a cold Norwegian night?!?! Mad props for turning it into a 'youtube channel competition' thats some kind of mad scientist kinda brilliant! ;) ;)
I’ve just realized why I enjoy watching Bjorn, because I get a lot of flak from doing and thinking in an unusual way, and he’s made a career out of it.
EXACTLY
This guy is soo damn natural and hilarious 😂😂 love his videos !! Keep going bjorn!!!
Here in Germany I can watch RUclips and Netflix without Wifi, just using the LTE of the car.
Joern Bredereck it lets me. And I’m in the us
I think the tractor of the trailer has parked next to it precisely because of the noise of the cooling system. The cooling units can also run electrically. On ferries, the cooling system is connected to 3-phase AC and runs emission-free and a little quieter.
I've seen truck parking spots next to motorway rest stops that have CEE sockets able to supply 15 kW. Example: www.goingelectric.de/stromtankstellen/Deutschland/Lauenau/Maxi-Autohof-Hanomagstrasse-2/11751/
This video has definitely helped me understand the potential of winter sleeps in sub zero temps. I sleep 8hrs between double shifts and drive approximately 100km each way to/from work. In winter this car will keep me warm and comfortable. I currently use an ICE car with a winter bag and futon. Warming the car before sleep and at wake time. Currently waiting for the impending demise of my ice car. *Tesla Cyber Truck on order but will get long range 3 till truck is available. Late 2023 estimate delivery. Also wondering what summer cooling would be like in 25-30C keeping the car at comfortable sleeping temps at night. Sounds like a summer challenge. Thanks for the video.
8:50 Trust me on this one
😂
Conor Byrne I laughed so hard that I scared my dog
10:05 DO IT! I felt the struggle you had Bjørn :D
Hahaha
SCII, I knew I loved you Bjorn!
Watching a youtube watch youtube. Put on your own livestream and livestream it and create an infinite feedback loop.
Interesting vlog. That is one reason I love living in Texas, no snow:). Keep up the good work.
I would like to see a comparison with your FLIR camera between the car with vs without Evannex heat shield.
Starcraft 2 videos I love it 😻, so many similar recommendations by the great RUclips AI
Earlier Bjørn was talking a couple times about how he was playing games before start making RUclips videos.
Bjørn is a Starcraft player confirmed.
Heat pump test could be very interesting especially if you can test it between 0 to -15c degree ideally!(or close to that...)
I drive a lot and sometimes have to spend like 30 hours in my XC70. The only complaint is when engine is cold, you absolutely have to drive around for a bit to rise the temperature, just starting car and waiting doesn't work. In lonely winter nights it means 2 hours nap and short ride to the next nap spot.
Yea the rear heater doesn't save with keep climate on and sometimes temp resets when you open/shut door to get in back.
I've also found by locking with button by reaching through rolled down window that you can still get into car with phone key enabled.
You might been able to get the preconditioning if the car was back in drive.
you should do it again with camp mode now!
Very surprised Model 3 doesn’t have a heat pump coming from a Zoe that has one and is a fraction of the price. Video on pros and cons of heat pump vs PTC please Bjorn.
They will take longer to get warm(especially in very cold climates)
No need to be on wifi when looking youtube. Works well with Tesla's mobile data
Allu_ Tube me too
Same!
Country dependent maybe?
Works in Switzerland and Germany for me.
RUclips requires tethering to my phone to play in the car.
Allu_ Tube I wonder why you would think Björn is wrong. Certainly he has tried to use it with LTE and found that it doesn't work and therefore he needs to use Wifi. Your experience will likely vary especially if you live in another country. Edit: Yeah you're a Finnish kid.
i dont know why but im addicted to these tesla camping, overnight challenge videos haha
Here's a challenge: See how long you survive without any food.
Home is where the charger is...😎
"Vennbahn - World's weirdest border?" was also recommended to me by RUclips. Fellow nerd I guess...
Kia Soul 30 Kw 1000 km challenge please.
2019 are like 20 000 Euro so affordable but how are range and charge times
At the begin the car used the battery heat for warm up the car, I guess because of that was lower consumption...
Amazing video
Regarding the shielding you definitivt want the reflective material toward the outside, as it currently is on your shielding. High reflection (I.e shiny) means low heat radiation. A thermos is shiny for the same reason.
Not possible.
Bjørn Nyland I get that the concept can be difficult to grasp but it is definitely so. google it 🧐
Found a product for the sharp edge between the trunk and back seat. Amazon - D006-10F, Edge Trim Black Small, 10 feet. I can't attach a photo but it works well. Added it to the Subwoofer cut out too. Will
Fine Videoer Bjørn🙌🏽
Because mkbhd watches bjorns videos like he said in waveform he is now watching bjorn watching mkbhd videos 🤣
And I thought I'd thoroughly tested a model 3 Performance on my 45 minute test drive yesterday.
DJ WARREN
How was it? :)
@@FreeAgent99 hmm! Stunning acceleration. Handled better than I expected with plenty of front end grip. Unfortunately it was a Base Performance without the 20inch wheels and larger brakes. The large screen that dominates the cabin takes some getting used to. Overall, apart from the acceleration, it didn't feel like a £52k car. No sense of occasion. Will I buy one? Possibly.
DJ WARREN
I rented the performance version for a week and my main take aways were:
I used all the features that the car had to offer (good usability) which I was not able with other cars I drove. Too many buttons, „how do I start lane assist again?“...
Very relaxing on long drives, since already the base version of autopilot is enough.
Last week I drove again a regular ICE car and was stunned of how mechanical /old-fashioned it drove and felt. But I agree for that money you would want some better premium feel inside ...well you trade that for the most smooth ride possible.
If it's plugged into a Supercharger, can anyone simply unplug it ?
DJ WARREN No, the charge port is locked when you lock the car.
When you mentioned you were going to play in the car and then sleep I was a bit alerted but turned out fine 😉
This guy is so funny🤣
Nextmove did this test over night. Sleeping in Kona 64 kWh version at -5°C. Consumption was 0,8 kW (7,6 kWh in 9,5 hours).
Not 0.8 kW per hour. 0.8 kW
@@bjornnyland correct.
So approx 60-70% more consumption without the heat pump, sounds about right.
At 0C difference would probably be bigger. At - 10C and below it will smaller.
The test was in an e-Niro, not a Kona: ruclips.net/video/wS1vYzHu8ig/видео.html
well... if i let my petrol engine idle , it wont heat up very well. last winter i got into a trafic jam and had to stand for about 25 minutes. when i arrived it was nice and warm in the car. but after only 5 minutes it got colder and colder. i had to hold my revs at about 2000 revs/min that the engine was able to produce enough heat. In this state the car showed me a consumption of 1.5l/hour. with my 48L tank that would result in roughly 15 Hours... i tried a Kona for a Weekend and that car is high up in my whishlist. That one used about 0.7 kW at around the same temp to keep me warm. With 80% SoC that would result in 70+ Hours. if you manage it correctly :D .. just need to wait about 2 and a half years till the leasing runs out for mine :o
Björns channel is the most pg, non-pg channel I've ever seen.
You have two different tests yet to be done with Kia e-Niro: This and 1000 km challenge. If you have the possibility to do that some time in the future, it would be great :)
Can you make a video to see what happens when you open an amazon link in the RUclips description in your tesla model 3? like a product that the youtuber wants you to buy.
30:00 sadly this theory only works if your battery is atleast 200°c. 50 is nothing, Will only have 2% effect
3:41 he said "always bring your banana" 🤣
If not found turn on the captions..
why are you mixing your english with german words all the time XD
Bjorn the guy at 14:30 is a complete sell out, always biased towards Tesla's favor. Believe me, you are a much better RUclipsr than him. He may have quality, but his videos are just not genuine and you truly feel that.
You should try to get in touch with Marques Brownlee . I am pretty sure he regularly watches your videos. Do a duel stream where you watch him from your M3 display.
Good video to show people who freak out about "But if you get stuck with an EV on a road for a couple hours in winter!"...you can just answer: "So?"
That’s so funny to see you watch the same person on RUclips as me 😂loving your videos by the way Tesla is my dream car
RUclips/Netflix needs WiFi connection? That’s new then. I tried 2 weeks ago and it was working fine through car’s LTE
I'll leave a comment a second comment for not being related to the first one. In Spain, a couple years ago, an unexpectedly hard blizzard hit the country. It wasn't forecasted as hard as it actually was. Leaving apart negligences form the government, in some part because we aren't used to these phenomena, lots of roads and highways were blocked. Casually the blizzard matched with vacations, so lots of travelling families got stuck in the snow for more than two days, in the mountains up to five. You now what?? The ones that didn't run out of fuel actually had their car broken down because of carbon buildup, specially diesels. Idling an engine for such a long time is to kill it slowly.
Please do upgrade to shooting in 4K. It makes for a lovely viewing experience (even if it will make your editing jobs a complete nightmare!)
I had no idea that at electric car was so capable of maintaining cabin heat like that. Interesting.
Nice a fellow SC2 fan.
wtf! Beastyqt popped up!! I watch the same every night haha and on Twitch. How big of a chance is that.
Hmmm. In the US I can play RUclips videos with the car's cellular connection.
When you are your own best friend and you take yourself camping ⛺️
Please do a new 24 hour challenge in Mg zs
I'm a big fan of carcamping tests.
Thank you very much for your video.
Maybe just an 12 hours overnight test will be relevant enough since normally you just need the shelter of the car for that.
😉
I am sure you were kicked out by wifey and smart you converted the situation into a RUclips video!! 😅😅👌👌👌
At some parking spots here in germany we have ac plugs for cooling trucks. Theoretically they could use them also for heating the cabin.
Try a classic IONIQ - I tried to sleep in the Blauer Engel for 8 hours at 0°C and without insolation. It was "intresting" 😎
So this how björn is celebrating christmas
You are watching StarCraft 2 games?? Cool!!!! 😀
8:48 that’s what she said
Should have live stream.
I think gas station food in Norway is better than in the US.
How did you get the screen to turn off when you went to sleep? Did you put it in "cleaning mode"
Normaly even if the key is locked inside you should not be able to open it from outside . I tried it with the keyless go card of our car and locked it in with the remote it didn't unlock . It only showed a little message. Maybe it works different on a Tesla
Maybe hybrids with heatpump can be the most long lasting here. Something like Toyota Prius Prime, I have regular prius and tried to camp in summer with something like +15 degrees during the night, It uses battery to run fans and fires up engine for about 30sec-1min every 20-30mins to give some juice for the battery and heat up the engine, then it shuts it off and uses engine as some kind of fireplace, slowly transferring its heat into the cabin (it might be the most efficient thing in that sense, excessive heat is not that excessive anymore :) ) . I tried that , uses about 3L/night or so, I assume will use much more in winter, but not full tank. The only annoying thing is that fossil engine is always connected with wheels, so when car starts it feels like someone bumping the car which wakes you up. Other than that its pretty neat and comfy.
"I wonder if I'll ever be as big as him" 🙂
I haven’t camped in my model 3 but I’m 6’5 and managed to actually be able to lay down inside. Check out the thumbnail for my model 3 review on my channel and see how much space this car actually has 👍🏽
The Zoe has a heat pump but you probably don't want to try a 24 hour test.
Glass roof needs installation
Nice video. Man. Would you mind telling me the name of the app you've been using to monitoring the car? Thanks a lot.
ScanMyTesla, check video description.
@@bjornnyland Got it. Thanks a lot.
Ohhh a white car in the winter is the worst 😬
Watching this video from Thailand! Ty for the Grab App suggestion.
24:00 we call them "reefers" in the U.S. for refrigerated trailers.
That's the most spoiled 24 hr chalange I've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣
Why did I get a CANADA GOOSE advertisement from Google at the start of this clip?! I know, it has to do with freezing cold, but CANADA GOOSE is *EVERYWHERE*, everyone and his mother has one, it's like fake Louis Vuitton bags, they're everywhere you look, haha. CG you guys don't need to advertise! :P :D
It might be true that a fossil car can camp for a longer period of time, but the EV is still many time more energy efficient while camping. While the EV uses most of it's energy for heating while camping, the fossil will be spitting most of the heat/energy out of the exhaust pipe. And with an EV, you also don't have to inhale all the exhaust gasses when going in and out of the car.
Not gonna lie...this looks like hella fun! I wanna do this!
Why do you want adblock? If everyone that watch your videos have Adblock, you would earn ZERO dollars og NOK on your videos.
30:35 looks like a cybertruck
Elon Musk Wants to :

@Bjorn, MKBHD watches all of your videos!
Thats NOT Laban seigmenn!! Its Brynilds Seigmenn. Laban is Nidars version and the original and best :) :) :)
I did this with my prius. I got that from american youtubers. You can buy a tent for the prius. You can make a full bed it
Yes, More camping vids please I want to live aboard an ev van eventually ;+)
Like for MKBHD!
Utilize heating the seats vs. heating the entire vehicle, which uses half the energy.
Uh... no!
