What I love about your channel is that you restore these weird and rare things that many of us have never even seen before. There is hardly any repetition. I especially like the big things, like the corn grinder, the drill and the enormous scales. Fascinating. You are my favorite restoration channel. Please continue.
That self-ratcheting mechanism is so clever, I've never seen anything like that on something before (or perhaps I have and they weren't in a place on the machine I could see them?) Thank you for the wonderful video as usual :-)
Magnifique..! By far the warmest and most relaxing restoration channel on YT - two generations of skilled hands, unusual old machinery, birds singing, occasional rain and Avril getting in the way... That's everything I need in a video.
You guys do my favourite restorations I've found on youtube. The care, craftsmanship and patience you both display in your work is beautiful to watch and I love that you don't try to make things look brand new. 'Perfect' restorations leave me a bit cold, whereas yours embrace the history of the items without trying to conceal it.
This is one of those where at the beginning you are saying "How is this supposed to work?" and then towards the end you are like "Aha! That's how it's supposed to work!" Entertaining and educational at the same time.
Seeing our past history restored to let generations ahead see our previous technology and invents to remind us how far we’ve come as a civilization! Keep up the great work!
I think this channel is amazing...it is so interesting seeing these old items come back to life again. BRAVO to the person doing this...such talent. 🤗🇬🇷
I watch your videos almost every night before bed. Not because they bore me, but because they are so peaceful! They help me get my mind off of the worries of the world. Thank you so much!
Rural France is full of old salvage / junk dealers - everything from ceramic doorknobs to thumping great bits of metal. If you can find any Rico Daniels videos on YT they're well worth a watch. He did a TV series called 'Le Salvager' where he moved to France and went poking around a lot of rural salvage places.
@@Curlyl0x yes vide grenier also called foire à tout or marché aux puces are common in all areas in France. You have to be there earlier than the junk dealers.they do not hesitate to light the back of the vendors vehicle during unloading, it is very painful.
I think this is my favorite restoration video. Definitely have my favorite parts like that oiling part, not sure why but I love it & the sound of the leaves being loaded into it along with the sound of the leaves being cut, I love it!
Great restoration there were lots of tiny tiny pieces you have the patience of a Saint. This was great to watch and I've learnt some tips to get rust of things thank you for your videos
something I find interesting about these kinds of videos, other than the restoration itself, is how clever and simple some of these old machine designs are
A mildly amusing thing with these kind of videos is that the items probably look better now than when they were new! At least when I try to think back to how some of the woodworking machines my school had back in the day (no fine polishing there, just bumpy metal under a bit of paint ;)
Fantastic restoration. I really enjoy watching your channel. You truly are amazing with these old beautiful pieces. You brought it back to working condition and it looks superb
super restauration bravo!! je voudrais citer un prof d'atelier que j'ai eu il y a très longtemps, il disait : " Un pied à coulisse, ce n'est ni une clé à molette ni une pointe à tracer "
Thank you for such a nice video. I love all your content. Also thank you for saying what this item did. I had no clue what kind of leaves until you said.
That is as much rust as I have seen in a while. Fair to assume that this machine was for individual/home use? Seems small for anything commercial. Beautiful work! Thanks!
That automatic feed mechanism was great, simple, but effective... But that tobacco juices had done much harm to all bolts...wow... :-D Great job, as always! That cat! :-D
You are amazing! This is an interesting piece of machinery. But how do you remember where every screw goes? Really spectacular restoration. BRAVO, BRAVO.
Great restoration bro. I think the hard work was worth it. Yep no matter what you do you can make everyone happy. Everyone has an opinion. I just enjoyed seeing you working on it!! 😁🤟👍
Hope you enjoy the video 😊✌️
Don't mind if I do ! XD
Thanks you :)
where are you from ladb? i see that you use some tools that i thought that were only on spain but maybe not

My Mechanics is also really good!
@@FreakingPlane Guess what, I follow him as well. Of course.
A thing I constantly ask is where do they get these antique weird and rare stuff

Best restoration channel on You Tube. And best cat helper: Avril.
only 70% there
Lol, Avril was like: restore later, pet me now!!! 🐈😂
Fantastic job btw!!!
Not pet me; more probably Avril is marking him with her scent glands which implies: lay off my human, I own him.
amazing how accurate and patient you are in dealing with such old rusty machines and then bring it back to its perfect operating condition
love the birds singing on the background. spring is finally here)
What I miss most. With my high frequency hearing loss, I lost those bird calls too.
Is it? I really hope so. Today we had 20 cm of snow here. And -2°C.
Loved the colour, it looks so revived! And Avril liked it too by the look of it!
Interesting feed mechanism, I haven't seen it yet. Succeeded :)
hmmm...😊✌️
Succeeded in what out of curiosity?
Always puts a smile on my face seeing the cute kitty 🐱

It is very comforting to see things that old this time working again. Thanks for the video

O
I love it when Avril gets right in the middle of what you’re doing!
Cats are the best at that.
What a great start in to the Weekend - just enyoing your wonderful restoration video, as always!
your comment/name made me click on your channel. sub'd in seconds..
@@MarcHarrisx thank you very much!
I was thinking to myself, "It must be called a leaf slicer because of the shape of the blade," and then the end of the video came.
I thought he must have meant loaf slicer for bread. Glad I watched the video before I "corrected" him. Pretty neat contraption.
Oh sweet summer child haha

Nobody can say you didn't try EVERYTHING before cutting those screws!
Electrolysis was about the only thing he didn't try
He didn't try to unscrew it?
He didn't use heat either
Good Lord people. Must we really split hairs like this?
@@Little_Red_Riding_Hoodlum just methods that weren't used. And I think there are more listed that weren't tried then were.
I know this slicer is old but the engineering that went into this thing is impressive. Love your work and this channel 👍
We love Avril!
I love how you want to preserve the history of all the objects by not remaking the enitre thing and keeping the scratches. ^^
I watch your videos almost every night before bed. Not because they bore me, but because they are so peaceful! They help me get my mind off of the worries of the world. Thank you so much!
Where on earth do you find these contraptions to restore? Is there a junk yard near where you live or something?
Second hand markets, there's plenty of old and rusted tools at my local market 😊

I’ve never watched a channels videos over and over so many times as yours. I do miss the outdoor giant restorations though.
Good to see u and Avril in the lab again... Very nice work... Let's get LADB 3K more subscribers so he can reach the 1/2 M level...

Nobody has commented on this yet.
So I will be the first one.

Fantastic restoration. I really enjoy watching your channel. You truly are amazing with these old beautiful pieces. You brought it back to working condition and it looks superb
Interesting. Tobacco cutters come up for sale around these parts quite often and I've never seen one this sophisticated.
