- Join Shawn & Charlotte as we return to Alton Towers in our second full park vlog of the 2019 season. We check out all of the changes at the park as of the last week of April along with watching the brand new Teletubbies live show in CBeebies Land. We also share off ride footage from all of our favourite rides at the resort including Wicker Man, Nemesis and all of the other major roller coasters.
In this vlog we also check out some of the latest merchandise on sale in the parks main gift shop along with sharing many more updates that have happened at the park since our last visit!

Every time you ride The Smiler I always hope you enjoy it, idk why but I just think it's brilliant. Except for back row obviously 😂

@@Charlie-rp2wi The back row is a jolt fest and one of the weaker rides at the park. However the front row is amazing and my favourite ride at the park.
I went here for my 13th birthday on the same day this vlog was filmed. Saw you and Charlotte on the back row of Wicker Man when I was in line and I saw you walking past Ceebeebies land to spinball whizzer. What an awesome day!

I saw the lights on behind the trommel tunnel in Duel last week, so I was hoping they were sorting it out... rode it the next day, still no movement!
I always find it funny coming off hex now cause i once just had a wander up to the roof and all the people from the ride followed me and my friend up there
I must say next time I travel to the UK I am definitely going to give Alton Towers a visit! ^^

Love Alton Towers. HEX is by far the best dark ride in the UK. I would say that my AT ride rating would be.
1) Nemesis
2) HEX
3) Maybe Oblivion or Smiler.

Hex is a white knuckle ride but I think it’s quite good
A hex style ride opened in Legoland as well

Next year hopefully galactica will return to air to fix the theming now there isn’t vr, Rita gets better bagging area, duel gets refurbished, they add more to the park itself and not just the rides and they also just give some areas a nice clean up.
I think you should wear a t-shirt or hoodie when around the parks with your logo on so ppl who stare at you realise what your about give yourself some promo! Good work though! Keep it up 😆

Completely agree with you Shawn, Saw: The Ride is probably one of the roughest roller coasters in the UK, and probably the roughest steel coaster I have been on. Even on the inside seats on the front are unbearably rough, wouldn't queue more than 20 minutes for it. The only good thing about it is you feel like you're actually inside one of torture chambers in the Saw films!
These vlogs have introduced so many rollercoasters/theme parks over all of the videos I have watched, I've just got back from Florida to enjoy everything out there. I have to say mako at sea world is absolutely fantastic. Thank you Shawn

Nemisis is a classic but the smiler if u brace yourself for the upcoming element plus the overall experience makes it just the best coaster at Alton towers...👍

I've not been to AT since June 1999, not long after Oblivion opened, which I've never been on. Scary thing is, it doesn't seem that long ago at all!!

Collecting the mugs used to be one of my favorite things about Alton towers, now they're just generic and bland. I have the rita bolt, 13 hooded figure mug, the colour changing smiler mug, the first nemesis mug, the original air (not galactica) mug and the new orange and black oblivion mug, I also have the oblivion mug where the drop is the handle.
Just want you two to know that I see this vlog only last night and it made me wanna go to Alton Towers. I woke up this morning and went to the park and done a solo trip. Drove 2 hours from Peterborough and had the best day. Missed that place. Keep up the vids 👍

Why are the flame effects always off. It’s what the unique selling point of wicker man is.

Tippiestbowl nemises at Thorpe park is better, wicker man is too loud and having to rewatch the preshow every time is kinda annoying. Smiler I guess

Kris Faulkner I personally prefer it even tho it has less coasters. However this is the first big theme park I went to, I just love swarm!!
If you ever go I recommend sitting in the outside on the right on the front row.

It's a special place Alton Towers and I know it can be expensive but I think many people take it for granted as they may not appreciate all the money time and effort goes in for your admission price, its escapism at it's best long live the theme park industry as it takes us to places we should appreciate, thanks again Shawn and Charlotte all the best as usual, keep up the great work 🎢🎢🎢🎡🎡🎡👍

Alton Towers is my favourite place ever, it’s a place everyone can feel safe and guarantee a fun trip. Watching your vlogs are nice because your very chilled out, do good and accurate reviews and it’s nice to watch the park run and go. I love rollercoasters myself they are Amazing and John Wardley is an amazing man. I just want to say thankyou for what you do because it’s really interesting makes me happy :) I’ve watched you for ages now and I asked you to do that merch tour of your room 😁

I personally fought that Saw The Ride has definitely got worse, however I personally won’t stop riding it because I have always loved the theming and I love the indoor scene. Also I have found Colossus better this year and I prefer Colossus to Saw The Ride which is quite surprising for me. 😂😂 Love this vlog so much, what a brilliant 48 minutes and I love Alton Towers so much 😁😁😁

Great vlog from a truly incredible theme park, I remember Alton Towers being my first theme park I've ever been to back when Submission; Enterprise and Black Hole was a thing! This was a year ago today. I remember this day like it was yesterday. 28th April 2019. I miss theme parks 😔
I went to Alton towers a few weeks ago and after I went on hex the towers were open so I decided to have look around and honestly about 40 odd people followed me around, even up the stairs as they thought it was the way out! Funniest thing I’ve seen at towers for a while 😂😂
Yeah I haven't done saw for a good year and a half, but have found it so unpleasant the last few times I've been on it. Heading to Alton Towers tomorrow even though it's meant to be chucking it down! Got £20 student tickets and wanted to go before I move back home down south. Fingers crossed the rain means small queues rather than ride closures! Fab video, making me really excited for tomorrow!
Ugh I went on Saturday and slept over till Sunday. Wish I could’ve seen you both😭😂
I agree with you, was at thorpe park on tuesday and SAW: The Ride was very bumpy and not like it used to be. Even the brake sections of track near the end of the ride don't really do much now either. I do love a good eurofighter coaster though.
Went there in March and it only gets nasty after the middle ride brake run. The ejector is horrible with the restraints, that next turn/inversion has a really nasty jolt and the final brake run jolts really hard too. I wonder if they could retract just those 2 sections of track, I mean they won't becuase it's merlin but still.

I’m here today and must say operations have been SUPERB. It’s quiet (like Wicker Man at 20 minutes and everything else below it) so there aren’t many people here at all, but all the coasters are running at least 2 trains. It’s meant that despite only being 12:07 as I write this I have ridden:

Already and will get plenty more in before I have to leave. They’re just throwing rides around today which is great.
AND: the flames were on Wicker Man! First time I’ve seen them across a couple of journeys.

my dad went her for his work years ago and he didn't want to look like a wimp so he went on nemesis cause everyone else did, he hated it he said he shut his eyes the whole way, now whenever you talk about nemesis I'm like, wait my dad went on that, it gives me chills....

A - Adventures mine is Nemesis because it’s pure intensity, one of the most intense coasters in the world, and the smiler because the theme for the smiler is just so creepy and awesome!

I really thinky this is going to be one of the best years for the towers in a long time. With wicker man mostly settled in now, no new major rides and operations getting even better, can't wait to get there in september
7:52 On the topic of nemesis not having much downtime, it really is one of the best for that. I was there on the rainy day you mentioned at the beginning of the video, and nemesis was the only ride that stayed open all day, letting me get quite a few rides, as it was still on a 0 minute wait
It sure is very reliable
I am SO happy that they finally finished Wicker Man during this season. Really weird that I haven't seen anyone comment on it yet. None of the major coaster channels seemingly noticed how Wicker Man finally has an actual ending this season. Last season after the final brake run, we had to take a trip through the coasters brightly lit warehouse where all the equipment was stored and that was the last thing we saw before disembarking. This season Towers have sorted it so now we go through a pitch black tunnel with some simulated torch effects and even little jets of steam blowing onto the passengers. The final brake run even gets its own dedicated music now. I am real happy Towers listened to people's complaints.
Brilliant vlog! I'm going to Alton Towers in May and I think I'm going to be brave and go on the smiler 😂
