Mr Magic! Question. I am trying to tune my watch, from being 3 MINUTES A DAY SLOW. I know which lever to adjust, but I think I accidently adjusted the "other lever" once. Now my watch swings between being fast and slow, depending on the time of day. Is this because I adjusted the other lever (the "bottom" lever, kinda squared off silver fork holding the brass knob). What position should this knob be in? I assume it is the tentioner for the mainspring? Should it be fully to the right (sitting at about 3 o'clock position)? Thanks!!!
If you accidentally touch the another lever means now the wheel is off balance. Yes, the time keeping can be swinging. Not depending on the time of the day but on the way you move. Different hand position affect the balance wheel differently. I made a video how to regulate a watch. ruclips.net/video/h0dPrUG5PFM/видео.html Hope this helps and don't forget to let me know the result.
Update: My SNK 805 finally tore itself apart. Boo. Bonus: I'm buying a NH36 movement, and modding the watch! I'll use the weathered, beat up shell and upgrade the internals so I can hack and hand wind. Cheaper than buying a new watch, and it makes it even better! Thanks for your channel and personal help, I will stay subbed to watch your other videos!
You tell everything in such detail ! The name of every detail, every movement! Very interesting! I own such a watch, so it was very interesting to find out the device of this mechanism! I saw a couple of plastic gears and it was a little confusing. I know that in some generally reliable Orient mechanisms there are also one or two calendar gears made of plastic and some of them fail. Do you think this 7s26 mechanism has weaknesses and what are they? And how reliable is it?
hi love your video. you have a calm and methodical approach which is great to watch and listen to, don't stop recording in English.......thankyou....Steve
Great video. I'm glad you did it in English. I have one of these Seiko 5 watches and it's great to see it taken apart. I wonder why the barrel spring was so dirty.
Thank you for your comment. I am glad you like my videos. Most of seiko, I believe, they use breaking grease, the grease applies on the barrel wall, called S-4 which is black in color. Once the grease is expired or worn out they tend to stick together forming thick grase almost like debris.
thank you. In particular camera angle (I am using phone camera and I have to place the phone real close) using hands and fingers would block almost the whole scene.
Thanks for your video. I need to regulate mine, and I figure while I am in there, I might as well mod the face. I want to blacken the noon lume dot, so I can have an index for 12 o clock in the dark. 👍
@@magicofwheels okay thank you, it seems like removing the bezel is the hardest one, any tips on it especially without leaving a scratch. I currently want to repaint my snk809 case
The way I do is I don't pry up and down. I just push the blade straight in until it opened up. Some protection can be added, wrap the poly bag around the blade before you push it in.
Great video. I want to order a tritium tube and glue it on the triangle. Maybe on all the hours. Way too heavy on the hands I imagine. Any advice? Is this a good idea for a mod?
@@magicofwheels there may not be enough clearance for the hands. You are correct, I'm sure. Marathon GPQ with tritium May be the new target. Thanks so much for reply.

I guess you were right, they will be too heavy on hands. on the dial, you may try but watch out for the hands gettin stuck on them.

What is the difference in your tweezers? One is yellow and one gray, why is that?
brass tweezers - for parts (brass hardly scratches steel)
steels fine tips tweezers - screws

Hi,
Thank you for your comment, I still don't have that video.

Oh...cannon pinion....it has to come off, clean and gives good lubricant.
Wait...before I get invested in this series, is only one video in English?
