    Awesome deconstruction video! There aren't a lot of complete dissambly videos about these Seiko movements out there as most of them are shortened and cut so that important parts are being skipped. With the help of your video I was able to deconstruct my own 7S26 for my personal education. Thanks a lot! Best regards from Germany

    Nicely done! While there lots of service videos out there, this one cuts to the chase and shows the teardown and reassembly in exquisite detail, without all the banter.

    Love the whirring sound when winding main spring without the pallet fork in place. Also really fun and informative to see the bi-directional automatic winding mechanism at work with the little pawl. Thanks!

    Miss watching these videos when i first bought my Seiko.
    Now decided which is better, getting tune up or replacing movement completely.
    Mine doesn't automatically wind anymore.
    I love what you do. It's therapeutic watching you.
    Be blessed from San Diego.

    Great instructional video. I received a new NH36 with a broken stem, flush where the release lever is. It appears from this video, I could remove the date/day wheels and be able to access the stem from the front and work it out with tweezers. Would you recommend a different approach?

    Is your stem modified? You were able to remove the stem before removing the setting lever. I thought the setting lever technically keeps or holds the stem in the watch?

    You skipped aligning the oscillating weight with the hole in the first reduction wheel. It's kind of an important step if you want to get the most out of the automatic winding feature.

    Nice video! Is there any big difference beetwen branded seiko and unbranded nh movts? I mean material quality first. I have a nh36 (built in a skx) with the 6r20's 28.800bph escapement system for 3 years. Accurate as the hell. I hope it will be reliable nh36. How often need service the escapement system?

    • @scdevon
      @scdevon 2 года назад

      It's widely accepted in the Seiko community that there is no difference in quality between NH movements and Seiko branded ones.

    so there's this thing called oil and another thing called grease - they are kinda essential for the long term survival of a movement.......
    Also another thing called letting the power out of the mainspring gently..... also essential
    Also another thing called not spinning the hell out of the escapement wheel..... again......
    Other than that nice video :-) Descriptive and definitely shows MOST of the steps you took.

    I purchased a Seiko 5 Sports Automatic SRPG29K with a 4r36 movement in Australia in February 2023 and the world should know that this watch lost seven minutes in the 24 days of the first month of ownership. I advised the Seiko Australian supplier Linda and Co that the watch was faulty. They replied that it met the specifications so no warranty. Think about that before investing in a Seiko watch.... That's just over 15 seconds a day. That's really not that bad and their stated accuracy is +45/-35. All you probably need to do is regulate it (the +/- sign by the balance). Just give it a very delicate nudge towards the +

    • @balkicroatia
      @balkicroatia Год назад

      If you insists about accuracy then buy quartz or digital watch.

    • @eruno_

      It's possible to regulate this movement to be near perfect time keeper, sadly sometimes they leave the factory with hit and miss time regulation which is really unfortunate.
