    Great Leo. As always, an ideal video as a tutorial. I am going to disassemble and service my Seiko 4r36 with some fear and after watching your video twice. Until now I have always made Eta and some Vostok. But I have never dared with Seiko, watching the videos they seem more difficult to me. Allow me a question, in your opinion is a Seiko more difficult than an Eta? Or if I have made Eta I will have no problems with a Seiko. After this 4r I will go for a 6r that I have also seen that you have a video. Thank you.

    • @MacroTime28800
      @MacroTime28800  5 месяцев назад +1

      It isn’t difficult at all. I think you probably feel a little uneasy because you’ve not done one before but once you’ve done one, you’ll realise that there’s nothing to worry about. You could always train on a cheap NH36 before you do the 4R 👍

      @@MacroTime28800 Thanks Leo. It's a good idea to train with an NH36. I have some Seiko that, although they work well, have values of 1.0 ms error and 220-230 amplitude, including some 6r15. Right now I have just completely restored an ETA 2551 from 1968, which is very very small, and has run at +6 seconds per day...now I'm going to go for the Seiko. Thanks Leo.

    Tenemos calibres vintage Seiko de tres saetas que son más complicados que un cronógrafo debido a la disposición de las piezas Seiko se conoce por el cuarzo pero en mecánicos siempre a estado hay uvo un periodo de los 80 al 2000 que no hicieron mucho mecánico pero en un momento sacaron toda una nueva colección casados en antiguos calibres estos yamados antiguos calibres en su momento ya se decía que estaban muy evolucionados y hoy por hoy pueden entrar como calibres actuales

    Nice video! Is there any big difference beetwen branded seiko and unbranded nh movts? I mean material quality first. I have a nh36 (built in a skx) with the 6r20's 28.800bph escapement system for 3 years. Accurate as the hell. I hope it will be reliable nh36. How often need service the escapement system?

    • @MacroTime28800
      @MacroTime28800  2 года назад +3

      I don’t think there is much difference between them. I have 6R24B here that looks very much the same as far as the materials go. The finishing is nicer on the 6R24B, you can see that on the bevelled edges but only under strong magnification.
      In my opinion, I would say get it serviced every five years or when the time keeping starts degrading, whichever comes first. Every watchmaker will have a different opinion how often to service watches, I’m comfortable servicing my watches every five years.

      Better quality, perhaps. There are never ending arguments which lubricants are the best lubricants.
      If you buy a movement, any movement, or a watch, the mechanism wouldn’t have been in motion for months, perhaps even years. The fresh lubricants will make a difference.

    • @MacroTime28800
      @MacroTime28800  Год назад

      Hard to say. I have certainly seen broken metal parts in movements, setting lever springs etc. so we can’t say metal is 100% perfect. The plastic is not pretty, I’d also prefer the plastic not to be there but I think it will last for quite some time. If you are thinking of buying a Seiko that has plastic parts, I wouldn’t worry about it. Rolex caliber 3035 has plastic bushing in the minute pinion, it’s not just Seiko who’s guilty of plastic.

    • @robertbrandywine
      @robertbrandywine 7 месяцев назад +1

      When you think about it, those gears are used for the day date change, so they are low usage. ETA's Powermatic 80 movement uses plastic for the escape wheel and pallet fork and get away with it.

If you bought it to practice on, start with a movement that works well and see whether you can take it apart, put it together and everything works well. If you got a movement/watch for a repair or service that would be different but a new movement, I’d get a replacement.
