Call me lucky but I just got my dad‘s old SNK027 watch that has a 7s26 movement that doesn‘t work anymore. I promise him that I‘ll fix it no matter what. I will use this video as reference. Wish me luck. If I have problem, I will definitely ask you. 😊
I have several of these 7S26 movements and watching this has given more confidence to have a go at stripping one down. Thank you it's going strait into my save section.
Wow glad that I can help, just take one step at a time and take alot of breaks. The hardest part was to assembly the date function, just screw the screws in a bit then check if everything is correct, some parts can jump out of its place but can be adjusted before the screws are fully down. Good luck!
Thanks for this video mate. Ive just bought a well used Seiko 5 auto 7s26c which the previous owner never had serviced in its life time. It was running +3 minutes a day. Considering i paid so little for it i figured this would be the perfect watch for me to try a DIY service. This video will be the greatest help to me in my attempt.
That sounds very good, wish you luck. That it easy when mounting the wheels back again so nothing gets squeezed with bent pivots. And the date plates, mount the plate and put the screws on, just screw it down a little and align the plate correct, then screw it down fully. These plates is hard to get correct directly, need to steer with the screws a little wound down then steer it and afterwards screw them down.
Как вообще возможно изготовить такие мелкие детали, шестирёнки, и прочие детали с такой идеальной точностью, что бы собрав их в готовые часы они десятки лет точно показывали время? Это фантастика!
thanks for the video!!! my snk809 will appreciate it, I use it almost every day in the workshop, with the sapphire crystal that I put on it, it resists all the work Thank you!!!
I had the same trouble as you at 18:19 the corner of the automatic works bridge won't go down all the way. If I loosen the screws and get that corner down, then another comes up.
Good video. As the SKX is now discontinued. Seems like more people will need to service the 7s26 in the future. Previously 7s26 was a throw away and replace movement.

Thanks for the great video. I tried following along on my snk809 and let me just say you make this look easy. Would you say the 7s26 is a fun movement to work on or do you find it frustrating compared to higher end movements? I don't have any other experience to compare but I found a lot of parts just didn't want to fit right. Again I'm 100% rookie so it might just be because I'm not very good.
Hello Jacob and welcome to the channel :). Well I cut the video so it won't be to long, the 7s26 is a hard movement to work on. It has very delicate parts, especially the date function. So on this one you have to be very careful. Compared to let's say high end vintage watches the 7s26 is much harder. Vintage watches is very robust. Built like a tank so you get some "safety " in case you do any errors. Take your time on each part, don't remove it with to much force, don't push screwdriver under parts, use maybe brass tweezer if you want to go under stuffs when removing, be gentle. And when assembly, check if it's situated correctly before screwing it in place. 7s26 is good practice. If you manage this you can do other ones with ease :). See you later, good luck 👍
@@jacobroberge178 7s26 is a great one to start with as if you manage that some vintage is probably easier :). One year ago I started where you are, on the 7s26, I'm still a beginner but it's going better.
@@Watcheyes I mean when I can put pallet fork on the pivot hole and then the bridge then screw it. I'm watching the video well in South Korea. You watched the 7s26 movement overhaul video well. Watching this video, I would like to overhaul the 7s26 movement for fun. I have a question. I want to know the size of the minus screwdriver required to overhaul the 7s26 movement. I hope you tell me. The tools are so expensive that I only want to buy the size I need.
@@kingkong1348 hi, i went thru all screws in a 7s26 and you need 2.0 and 1.0 mm. The 2.0 is for the winding mechanism, ratchet wheel, 2nd reduct wheel pinion screw. 1.0 is used for the rest. If your able, buy also maybe 2.5 mm but its not a must. /Watcheyes
I believe the weight has a slip fit that bypasses the ratchet wheel when the main spring is fully wound. Not sure though. I'm looking at mine now and watching the weight freely spin and the ratchet wheel not rotating, which makes me think it's fully wound.
Hello sir, I don't have that movement but must be some faulty cog wheels maybe, it's some plastic cogs in there that can be broken after some time. Just my guess but you'll see if you upon.
Как будто операция открытом на сердце. Но, недостаточное количество света, который еще и сбоку идёт, не даёт полного понимания картинки из-за переотражения света на металле.
