Everybody spending time with Brooke's kids except their bio father🙃
poor Eric Brooke was the biggest mistake of his life
I remember watching the first time and THIS is when I started losing my patience with Taylor and her storyline. Her character never really recovered from this.
It is so much different for me now watching it along with you guys in the comments, as you make such great observations that I may not have noticed or realised exactly what was wrong the first time around watching.
To me, Taylor is losing her moral standing here.
For one, those children existed b4 she "died" and she and Ridge were planning to work it out. Why couldn't the same thing be done now? Before months had passed?
Second, this is now the 2nd time Taylor has heard first hand that her "death" devastated Ridge, whom she says she loves more than life itself. Why would she continue to allow him to think she's dead, knowing it caused him so much pain?
Thirdly, with the exception of Omar who obviously has his own agenda and who held her hostage, EVERYBODY ELSE is telling Taylor to stop hiding and go after what she wants. Everybody can't be wrong.
I can't understand her motivation to stay in hiding at this time, other than she fears Ridge's rejection.
I agree! Taylor's "sacrifice" doesn't even seem like the best thing for _Ridge_ anymore (and he's the one she's supposedly doing it for). She could easily contact him and make it clear that she won't interfere with his marriage to Brooke, if that's all she is worried about. That way, Ridge gets to keep his family but is freed from his grief. But Taylor would rather let Ridge continue to mourn her death than risk rejection from him.
And I blame the writers and their infatuation for KKL and the character Brooke for that! They completely destroyed Taylor's character, just to make Brooke look good! What a shame really!
I think Taylor is staying low-key because of both her insecurity about Ridge, her fear of Omar and also how her "return" would turn everything upside down. Sometimes, shocking news like being back from the dead does cause an earthquake and for someone like Taylor (who's generally calm and even-keeled) , she wants to ease things in. I believe in the end, Ridge does choose to stay with Brooke, but I forgot how they broke up again (perhaps the revelation that Brigitte isn't his daughter).
@@scor66You clearly suffer from BLDS.
*The Sheila vs James and Brooke & Connor Scenes are Similar*
This is another "theme" episode with the Sheila vs James and Brooke & Connor scenes having similar tensions. Both Sheila and Brooke are being haunted by a specter from the past, a former female rival. James is explicitly threatening to call Lauren and destroy Sheila's marriage to Eric and Connor is implicitly trying to warn Brooke about Taylor returning and destroying Brooke's marriage to Ridge. Both rivals have sworn oaths to stay away (and both Lauren and Taylor will eventually break those oaths). And both Sheila and Brooke are being offered bad deals -- Sheila is being told to confess her crimes in therapy to save her marriage and Brooke is considering giving up her stock to unite the Forrester family.
I've written before that Sheila and Brooke are character foils with similar storyline trajectories (episode 1921) and I've also argued that James and Connor occupy a similar "space" on the show and that the arrival of James crowded out Connor's role (episode 1842). And now here in this episode those parallels are made clear again with Sheila/Brooke and James/Connor inhabiting similar positions in their scenes.
Great parallel! And it also highlights the difference in "storytelling power" between Connor and James. Connor _could_ resolve the whole situation because he holds all the cards (knowing Taylor is alive), but he chooses not to reveal them. James knows _nothing_ and yet reveals his cards (telling Sheila he will call Lauren), not actually knowing whether Lauren will give him the information he wants.
Nice parallels! And Brooke & Sheila and Connor & James are friends.
"Even solid ground can shake very quickly." Connor implies Taylor by referencing an earthquake.
😂😂
I actually thought of the "princess and the sandcastle" analogy we have often used to describe Brooke's marriage to Ridge.
Taylor's never living down that Big Bear incident is she? 😁

James does a incredible job making his patients feel safe .why would’t Sheila trust him 😂😜
James is an Awful psychiatrist…really a disgrace to the profession in his treatment of Sheila. 😣
Connor is such a good friend.
After months of James boasting about his expertise, his brilliant moves are:
• berating Sheila to just tell him her secrets
• begging Lauren to just tell him Sheila’s secrets
Potential detective duo spinoffs of B&B:
Most successful: Sally and Stephanie
Least successful: James and Thorne
James' techniques really are the worst lol.
He berates and blackmails Sheila, then calls Lauren bc she STILL can't get a breakthrough. He told Steph he was close to figuring out Sheila since he was engaged to Brooke..
Honestly, tho, why would any psych threaten u to call someone else who knows u to find out what you won't tell them?? Sheila is actually correct they James doesn't really want to help her, he is more out to get her
I keep asking why on earth Taylor, Brooke and Sheila had fallen in love with him (in variable proportion, because I don't think Taylor and Brooke were so in love with him knowing how much they love Ridge).

😄
Brooke, you're simply the best! Better than all the rest! ❤❤❤
Connor : "You earned that stock.. It's rightfully yours"
Brooke : "That isn't the issue.."
Exactly... Brooke could never have cared less about being a CEO and running that company. That stock was literally revenge and now a means of having a bargaining chip.
As I, and others, have kept saying.. The takeover was firstly about Brooke not getting Ridge. Had Ridge chosen her that night, there wouldn't be a question about whether she would take the stock or not.
But Ridge not choosing her was the PRIMARY issue, and then Steph coming after to rub her nose in it, was a SECONDARY issue.
Now, as Brooke has said, she's "safely" married to Ridge, so the number 1 issue has been "resolved". Then she also says she is gaining Steph's "affection" bc she is married to Ridge and steph apparently knows this is a solid marriage, so that's the secondary part falling into place.
Even if Steph loved Brooke all day but Ridge never chose her, she would still hold on to that stock.
Not only is it obvious that the takeover had a lot to do with Ridge but the show even _literally_ connected the two story strands by having Ridge's decision (between Taylor and Brooke) occur _at the same time_ as the Belief storyline unraveled with that culminating episode at Brooke's condo where he got her to sign the contract AND told her he was staying with Taylor.
Brooke earned that stock on her back, on her side....🤭
To show that she never deserved that stock, she's signing it back to the owners instead of selling to them
LOL Ridge inviting Jack to stay with them when Brooke doesn't even care about her own parents AND is insecure about Taylor. 🥴
I have no idea why Ridge would think Jack would want to live with Brooke, the woman who tormented his daughter when she was "alive".
Ridge really is dense lol
@@TriniT21 I'm kind of enjoying Ridge being clueless and insensitive about Brooke's feelings about Taylor the same way Eric's always clueless and insensitive about Stephanie's feelings about Brooke.

Shelia was always my favorite character. I was always curious about her childhood and what made her into a psycho. I wish she would have mentioned Scott Grainger more. She really loved him and that was who she and Lauren really fought hard over.

This episode emphasizes, yet again, how Brooke is a _competitive_ character rather than a _romantic_ one. Even now, when she is happily married to Ridge, she likes to talk about their relationship as if both of them still have to compete for each other's attention (in this case, the imaginary rivals are the college kids who will be attending the seminar).
Yes I noticed that too. A third party is always needed to make Ridge and Brooke seem like an interesting couple.
I can't really blame Brooke for being competitive though, she's being an interloper majority of the last seven long years
I noticed that too.

Why in the world would Sheila reveal anything to James? He's doing this on behalf of Eric, who would share whatever James knows with Steph. Nothing Sheila says would be held in confidence.
That has been Sheila's fear from the start and she wanted them to get a different, unbiased therapist, but Eric emphasized that it has to be James. That therapy never had a chance of being successful....not for Sheila working through her past, not for James, Eric, Stephanie finding out Sheila's secrets.
@@mara4450 also James threatening to call Lauren if Sheila doesn't tell him what he wants to know. That's not therapy. That's blackmail...
Thank you!! Part of actual therapy is getting the patient to trust you, and if you made it perfectly clear you would sell her out to the police and Eric whatever she tells you why in the world would she even want to say anything to you? As much as I loved the character of Taylor up to this point, she started to be dumbed down from this storyline. She was beyond idiotic at this point and selfless for no reason. One kid is his half brother and his soon to be half sister was in the pic while she was still “alive”. It makes no sense.
And they existed while she was still married to Ridge. It makes no sense 😕
I don’t understand the point either? First off Eric jr has a father, Eric. Second for now Bridget is Ridge’s child…but Taylor was okay with playing Stepmom and staying married to Ridge previously? 🤔
Seriously, Taylor could come back and tell Ridge to stay with Brooke and the children…🤷♀️
That must be too painful a choice for her…because deep down she wants Ridge back. She really doesn’t want to give him up?😔
yes it is totally absured and stupid this delay is killing us
No sense at all…Instead of coming back willing to divorce Ridge
so he could be with the kids, which could have been the ‘ sacrifice’ ,Instead she opted to pretend to be dead ,Live in Morocco with a controlling manipulator ,and give up her life’s work as a psychiatrist and never see her family again …utterly ridiculous.
I hate it too. Making Taylor have to be the martyr for Brooke and her kids. Everyone knows that if the roles were reversed, Brooke would never do the same. She would come back to claim her “destiny” 🙄
A hallmark of Brooke and Ridges' solid marriage is banter about warding off possible interlopers ( in this case impressionable awestruck college kids coming to the seminar) when the biggest threat to the marriage, Taylor, was actually feet away from Ridge when he was in Jack's hospital room 🤦🥴
That’s true. And apparently Taylor views herself as a threat…because sounds like she thinks Ridge will leave the children to be with her? That is what she said to Jack…that she just can’t take Ridge away from the children.😳
Taylor seems determined that she has to stick with her sacrifice plan…because somehow the children are who matters the most?🤷♀️

Sheila was right to refuse to speak of her past with James who as a shrink can not violate the patient confidentiality obligation of his profession. Once she walked out the door, they no longer had a doctor patient relationship and he was free to investigate her past by calling Lauren. He could have opened up Sheila's past by promising to fulfill his professional obligation. Bad move.

Thank you. ❤❤❤
So Ridge would rather have Jack spend time with Eric Jr and Bridget huh? What about their *father* and _grandfather_ Lustric?
My first time watching @ this is an awful storyline with Taylor, I think it’s awful!
I must say, this might be the happiest and healthiest time in Bridge's relationship. Ever! It's because they're not aware of Taylor's presence in their orbit. As soon as that happens, it's late for them. Ridge, like always, will sway to Taylor even though he's with Brooke. And that's what will stoke Brooke's insecurity.
What amazes me is how they think speaking to Lauren is the only way to solve the mystery that is Sheila, when in fact, any private investigator could "figure it out" by doing newspaper research. I mean, Stephanie hired a PI and found Stephen Logan, who was missing for eight years and who took great pains to cover his tracks. All Sheila did was move to L.A. when people presumed she was dead. She didn't even change her name!
Not a big thing,.. But... Interesting that red was the colour Brooke was wearing when she took over the company. And red is colour she's wearing now while deciding to give it back.
Seems to be her power colour.
Good observation. 😊
YES! I noticed that too. They do a good job referencing and connecting past events by re-using costumes. And the scene "echo" is made even more complete with Connor.
I think red is _everyone's_ power color. It's a very "significant" color. No character can be dressed all in red without it _meaning_ anything.

Brooke with a pickle in her mouth. Just the usual business at FC lmao 😂
According to Taylor there is *no going back now* because of the children and their needs. They really need their father/big half-brother. Even if one of them is the same boy that Taylor once helped to wean little Eric off of missing his dad Eric, by advising that Eric moves back in, so that they could develop some routines and for Eric to gradually disappear.
Bridget would still have been a well developed child with a part-time dad and an involved/ not- yet- ready yet- step-mother Taylor, but nowadays Bridget won't be able to lose that father figure again (even when she already had coped with Connors and James disappearance).
And soon we will be back to weaning the children off that full-time family thing.
Taylor’s lack of logic is very puzzling? It seems okay for Ridge to be sad over her death…but not okay for the children not having a dad to live with them? 🤷♀️
Eric has a dad who can share custody with Brooke. I realize Brooke has made Ridge her first born’s father.🤔
Previously, it was okay for Ridge to share custody of Bridget? But now that Ridge chose to marry Brooke and be a family…Taylor can’t reveal to Ridge she is alive because of the children loosing their dad?🤨

🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 Taylor's problem is herself! I am amazed that this martyr nonsense is being prolonged. Her guilt is assuaged for marrying Ridge when she knew he had a romantic relationship with Brooke, and a paternal relationship with Brooke's children. Maybe Taylor absorbed the Forrester's guilt, in particular Ridge and Eric who on some level played romantic games with Brooke and got the young valley girl of a poor class pregnant.
Maybe Taylor watched it play out and didn't exercise the morale and morals she is supposed to have. Taylor is self sacrificing and this is self punishment to a great extent.

@@bettyhopson Yes she is feeling guilty for causing the children to not have their dad which inadvertently means she caused that by coming between Brooke and Ridge initially which amplifies her guilt because the way to deny children their parents and by extension their family is to separate their parents which is the outcome of Taylor marrying Ridge. So if Jack and Steph were married and Ridge to Taylor, what would that make Ridge to Jack since because of him and Taylor Jack is/ was his father in law? Am confuse 😂😮
Jack and Stephanie were never married, just engaged
Jack is Ridge’s father in-law because he is still married to Taylor…since she is alive.
Jack and Steph never were married. I don't remember that they have been engaged (Jack was engaged to Sally once, wasn't he?). But if Stephanie and Jack's relationship would have progressed further than these kisses and dinner dates, even would have progressed to marriage, then Jack would have been Ridge's father-in-law AND step-dad/ Stephanie not just Taylor's mother-in-law but also her step-mom.
I guess that was the reason why the show ended that fling. It would have put Stephanie Forrester in kinda a messy constellation, when the show instead had Stephanie only ever marrying one guy (several times).
I know they were NOT. I meant IF they were.
