last year I made one of these myself but instead I wrapped the led's around the pipe. at the and I placed a T-piece, which created a handel and lower, placed a rechargeable Lithium - ION batteries in series. It works like a charm. and balances well with LED's on e one side of the handel and the batteries on the other side. Only drawback is - this unit draws power from the batteries even if those are off so I have to disconnect the cables every time I put it to rest. I should upgrade it with a switch at some point.
Nice video. I just bought 6’ units for US$ 8.00 each one on Marchall’s. Mine uses USB rechargeable batteries. I bought two transparent tubes from Home Depot. I’planning to cut one in half to be able to fit inside the uncut one or may be just use a cardboard tube.
Very Nice 👌🏻👏🏻. I'd like to know how you focus the subject in the dark. Do we need to 1. Light the subject 2. Focus on camera 3. Switch off light just before pressing shutter button, then flash the speedlite (I assume use used test button to fire the flash instead of connecting the flash with the camera?)
Hi. Speedlight on TTL to the left held by a VALS (voice activated light stand) on first curtain sync. Not ideal but you can't 2nd curtain with my system 🤷🏼♂️ 8 second exposure. High F stop to maximise DOF. 👍🏻👍🏻
Tiki Tim - Photo and Video Tutorials - Thanks Tim I guessed it was curtain sync I'm still working out how to use that function. I actually thought a VALS was a real bit of kit 😂😂 no I didn't look on Amazon 🤣🤣. Had a little practice last night after watching your vid and definitely will enjoy experimenting with light painting, thanks for the inspiration
Great tutorial mate, I've just finished building my own and waiting to test it. One quick question, what setting did you have the LED strip set up on ?
Awesome!!!! Do you mean for the colour chase to make the rainbow colours? If so it is just the Fade. Choose speed to suit your exposure time. Share a pic of your tests to me on Insta? @timshapcott 🎅👍🏻
So glad i found this as was about to spend a fortune on one. Already got the pipe, leds arriving tomorrow!
Send me a pic when you get to testing it? @timshapcott on Instagram 🙏🏻
Thanks for posting the materials needed.
😁👍🏻 Let me know how you get on 🙏🏻
This was just what I was looking for, thank you 😊
Please share a pic when you have made it. I'd be hyped to see what you make!

Amazing! Can I see it? Message me on instagram.com/timshapcott 👏🏻🙏🏻
I used the 5V LED so you can use the 5V power banks. less hustle to charge and less weight to carry. Good job though! :)
Very cool where do you find 5v self adhesive strip this long?
I'm also curious

So going to do this but would love to know what settings you used and did you use a speedlight to light the girl?

Will this be ok for light painting a car too?
It will work for a car. Know what? I'll make a video of me testing the idea. Gimme a couple days 😁
I made a video light painting a car for you ... ruclips.net/video/ScswkQzlRcU/видео.html I hope you find it helpful!

@@TikiTim It was for the rainbow effect - I'll see how they turn out later.
Awesome!!! Good luck 👍🏻
🎬 🎥 👌 📷 👍
Just buy 144 led tape. Save money, more leds less tape and buy 5v tape instead of 12v and use a Poundland 5v usb powerbank less weight smaller battery
how did you make that photograph????
Long exposure while I move the light stick and a small flash to light the girl, freezing her movement 👍🏻
@@TikiTim I’m not a professional photographer 😅...can you make a tutorial?
