thank you for sharing this, its great to see people cover stuff like this. i personally used this to make some of the designs for pokeballs using shrinkwrap for some of the patterns but i wonder if there is other ways to get designs on models like that without it if there is a good way

I was able to apply a shrinkwrap decal but when I animate rotation for the object it's on, the decal just rotates on it's own and not really with the object like it's stuck in place on it

I keep searching everywhere and I still don't know why I need to snap together with shrinkwrap..
Some people in tutorials/speedmodels just seem to face-snap without using shrinkwrap and I don't get why
