Damn corpos
No audio for me bro
Freaking Corpos.
Damn you Arasaka.... Oh wait....
Armored Core, anyone? Come on, Fromsoft, give me that new AC already. You guys already made loads of money with Souls and Ring.
Arasaka
Just for reference, these guys are _big_ names in mecha design.
JNTHED was the guy who handled mechanical design for the Metal Gear series all the way up to Peace Walker, and was also responsible for the mechanical design of Spriggan (the new one.)
Wataru Inata was one of the mechanical designers for Armored Core For Answer, as well as the lead 2D designer for Xenoblade Chronicles X - which means he was the guy who designed the Skells.
Ippei Gyobu should be familiar - He's the one who handled G-Reco and IBO, as well as Divers and Re:Rise, as well as Kyoukai Senki.
Kanetake Ebikawa is also a familiar face, having worked on Gundam 00, AGE, and Try, but also handled the design for Full Metal Panic, Vandread, and even Eureka Seven!
for correction JNTHED was responsible for the PSP MGS games but not all of the MGS games that still goes to youji shinkawa but as his profile was credited being part of the konami team he was also responsible for the boot sequence display in ZotE 1 which was largely unchanged in ZotE 2

So what you're saying is that Sunrise decided to go for the big guns for MS design here?
@@matthewbrune5490 Sunrise is pretty much the literal monster of the Mecha Anime world.
That's a lot of my favorites
Pharact is dark blue with yellow accents, and the company behind it has a stylized T shaped bird emblem. I expect nothing but strange prototypes and high performance grunt suits that are pushed out way too late from them.
Fucking Titans, man...
@@mocca3633 yeah Titans…
As long as no one mistakes a boy for a girl because of there name, they should just do fine
Hopefully we get mentally unstable enhanced pilots with vendettas against hong Kong too
Also war crimes
WFM Antagonist: "Gundam Bad! Ban It!"
Also WFM Antagonist: "Let's build Gundam because it's cool that we do it!"
Corporations are known to commit hypocrisy and go against what they said before just to make some extra bucks.
I think Peil is a rogue house here. as there seems to be splintering even during the prologue. as it could be that the Gundam Aeriel is a Peil modified Lfrith with House Earth cooperation.
Its possible that over the years they saw the sheer profiting potential of gundam-types and wanted to develop some of their own behind closed doors. In the end companies wont care about rules when profit is on the table.
I notice that unlike Lfrith or Aerial, Pharact doesn't appear to have any 'remote weapons'. Perhaps Peil is trying to make the system work safely, but is only able to do so by eliminating the 'homing mines' and bit staves of the Ochs units.
"It's okay when we do it."
You know the various corporations aspect of WFM really gives me an Armored Core kind of vibe.
Battle Tech vibes for me
Vibe nothing, Peil Tech's MS are ACs masquerading as Gundams. Inata did good work with ACFA.
Was totally gonna say that. A corporate owned world maybe?
@@bobikoart great minds think alike lol
@@bobikoart Lol we almost actually could be ourselves there.
I'm with you on the Orchs and Peil designs. The fact that each corporation's suits is designed by a different mech designer is a nice touch that I haven't seen since Gigantic Formula. Who remembers that mecha anime?
I do, it was pretty unique.
Gigantic formula is certainly..different
When I hear corporations and Mecha.... I think Armored Core
and battletech
@@flamestoyershadowkill6400 i don't know much about the lore, but i thought battletech was about clans, planetary governments, etc?
As an AC4A fan I second this comment
Jeturk: we got to put a shield (with option to put 2)
Grassley: We got to put a shield (with antidote)
Burion: we got to put a shield (for kids to train)
Shin Sei: we got to put a shield (which are a Gund-bits)
Peil: a what now?
I never even thought that the mix bag of designers that they hired will had some kind of mobile suit factory lore in this series. Well played Bandai...
they need to do more of this, one of the things that pissed me off in 00 is how the MS are either copies so similar you have no real way to distinguish who it belongs to(the UNION and the AEU), or they are so diferent, you cant look at it and not think it belongs in another universe(HRL). and even when they are based on designs of others, it makes no sense.
no a-law machine look like any throne, nor any CB design, the throne doesnt look like it was based on the CB either. inovator machines do give a hint of being closer to a-law design, but are also so diferent it doesnt really look like they came from the same side either.
its just a mish mesh of designs that dont fit together.
even in its own line, they dont fit, the ahead looks nothing like the gnx line, that looks nothing like the masurao line, that looks nothing like the gadess line. and they were meant to be evolutions or sister units.
now compare with the evolution line of the ginn-cgue-guaiz, and even if you think its a copout, the ginn is similar enough to the zaku, that you can see the design carry over from it to the SD version. or other fun details like the guaiz R having the freedom side raiguns. the same happened with the astray line and the dagger line. they fit the desing philosophy of each side.
as a side note, i think that, aside from the atrocious color scheme, the prototype zaku warrior is a balls to the wall design that would become a fan favorite if it showed up in the games.
I love how each faction has their own artists and gives them all distinct features and designs! This might be my next favourite Gundam setting after UC!
It’s really cool but it’s not going to unseat UC for me.
@@KennethSee Anything half way competent can unseat UC, Zeon's brain dead barbarous for no reason and EF get magical leaps in tech better then Zeon who had a massive tech advantage which they failed to exploit. Oh and gundinium, shit's wack.
@@Marth667 Zeon doesn't have the resources like the EF has. It's hence why Allies won cause while Axis had some big technology aspects ahead the Allies had way more resources to out develop them in the long term. Plus really Allies themselves had still some technology advantages just not as high first but became higher as the war went on.
Anyway EF leadership was less incompetent in spending their resources let's put it that way.
The Higher-ups in Peil Technologies seems very ominous, but I can't deny how awesome their Mobile Suit design are. Reminds me of Black Glint from Armored Core.
The Peil mech designer worked on AC, so similarities are a given.
@@omucupunga to be specific the guy worked on rosenthal parts so lancel and hogire

I wonder how BADLY the GUND Format will affect a Mobile Armor pilot. Though my guess is that Mobile Armors will be developed as a last resort to combat the GUND Format by the MSDC or in a ironic twist of fate, developed by Eartians.
that's my biggest question about the show rn, after the prologue, how are gundam's even legal anymore?
@@wheezer5038 exactly, that's my question as well, not only is Suletta able to use the Aerial at school, but now you have Peil Technologies that created their own Gundam, and the MSDC (or Cathedra like they seemed to called themselves at the end of the Prologue) doesnt react at all? Considering they blow up an entire Research Factory/Colony just to destroy the Llfrith, this is reaaaaaally weird.....
@@wheezer5038 I think the most logical and acceptable explanation prob that it's not Gundam being prohibited. But rather GUND-ARMS (or any GUND-FORMAT PMET Link MS in general). Basically anything that endanger the pilots in ethnical issues are prohibited, not Gundam-type
@@danmakuusou9348 maybe after they took apart Ochs Earth, the Mobile Suit Development Council decided to have companies apply a limiter to GUND-Arm units as a safety thing.
Maybe there was a short lived ban on Gundams in general, but they decided to pull back a bit on their stance.
@@wanderingaceminecraftandmo8034 possible
They are only 'Houses' on Asticassia, as it is a school centered around the Benerit group itself. Companies sponsor students there, which represents their student ID, but also grants them access to specific groups with their own dorms. Outside of the school, they are not 'Houses' like Game of Thrones or anything.
So are they more like Japanese Zaibatsu or Korean Chaebol?
I know its a different timeline, but it would be hilarious if Anaheim Electronics just shows up out of nowhere
Imagine lol. They would be able to Make a Nerfed Version of the Unicorn Gundam cause there's no Newtypes around.
I think the lack of secrecy behind Aeriel could be because she's hiding in plain sight. What makes Aeriel special isn't the body, but the "soul", the artificial intelligence inside, which as we have seen isn't easily accessible to due. . . "firewalls".
I like the Grasseley disign style the most.
The fact that their emblem is a snake with my favorite shape-usage is a plus too.
Geez with corporations involved its difficult to find the actual atagonist. And yes Armored Core does this alot typically right at the end.
AC 4 and FA were great because no matter who you side with, it has consequences. In FA all choices are just that, choices. Granted going with Old King's route is my least favourite (only did it once for completion's sake) but the other two are both valid. preserve the world order, potentially saving milions, or bring the Cradles down but allow human expansion off the poisoned Earth? In the end I prefer the ORCA ending. It feels more hopeful, to me. What about you?
It's been way too long since I played FA, but it's either Old King route or wiping out ORCA.
@@MaxHDAvenger That's fair I guess. What motivates that choice?
@@chaosgrunt9554 most likely completion sake but it's been awhile since I played FA I probably forgot the motivation on why.
FA?
I’m torn between all four houses but I go for Jeturk and Grassley, the designs of the mobile suits are like seeing Neo Zeon compete with Gjallarhorn
i see it like that as well, im more into jeturk's design. but i really liked that "belive me guys, i totaly didnt genocided that planet last night, and really didnt eat a few babies this morning as part of my breakfast" design from peil.
I saw a Federation emblem, OZ lion emblem, Titans emblem and Serpent Tail emblem 🤔. Also love that Ippei Gyoubu continue with the knight type mecha, like Kimaris.
Figures the company with the Oz emblem would be the first one to get its MS humiliated by a Gundam.
Real fun to go back to this now that most of the various secrets have been revealed and we can see how close or not-so-close the guesses were :D.
if build divers was after this series the ogre would ABSOLUTELY have had a jeturk suit as his main suit
i love the big unga bunga design of them
Would need to be a good 6-7 years later unless the 5 year thing has been lifted
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer or they could pull the same stunt they did with the Galbaldy Rebake, which moved like an IBO suit, hit like an IBO suit, had the full aesthetics of an IBO suit, but it’s “a kitbash of an UC suit” so it’s fine 👀
9:57 Tickbalang sub-flight system is named after the Tikbalang, a Filipino mythological creature similar to a centaur.
Three rival Houses. Their crests are a bird of prey, a snake and a lion.
This immediately reminded me of Dune, specifically the RTS games (and by extension the David Lynch movie), and a bit the TV series.
Peil would be Attreides, Grassley Ordos, and Jeturk Harkonnen (the lion doesn't match, but in the whole, Harkonnen fits)
The Peil council even remind me of Lynch Dune Bene Gesserit.
Also: Beneritt Group ~ Bene Gesserit
Add some mentions, for Lfrith UR and thorn. Designer of mecha are Takayuki Yanase.
This potential Lfrith UR and thorn are from earth houses, we don't know how if earth house get Lfrith blue print
well if House Earth is really linked to Ochs Earth Corps, then they would already have the Llfrith's blueprints so that wouldnt be a problem
@@DarkAnon100 that was my speculation coz we don't kniw where sueleta mom are escaped from prologue, but we will find out when the series is on air

Grassley is my favorite, the Michaelis is easily my favorite design so far. I also love the Demi Trainer if that really is by them as well
I'm with you on Grassley. Especially their mass-production units. They push my Zaku-love buttons
@@StrewthStoatPirate hell yeah, they got the monopoly on mono eyes lol

as a side note, im loving that "imma all abut that evil" vibe from the totaly not a high ranking villain from a super robo series, peil MS. and im loving every bit of its design for it.
I really hope G-Witch gets the same autistic attention to detail that Universal Century gets, something that bums me out about other timelines is the lack of real mechanical breakdowns, lineages, and manufacturers. It's something that also really bugged me when SEED started strong on that but didn't follow through
I mean, wing and 00 (at least season one) had mechanical aspects, X too if remember correctly...
Age had in first season, it seems it depends on how much of the animation studio and team of the production are fans of technical stuff.
my biggest disapointement with seed, is how neither the freedom nor the justice have mono eye. the saddest part is, they could even give the freedom the strike head later, since it does get some damages in, during the botched rescue atempt. they could destroy its og mono eye head, and put in the strike's in its place. maybe adapt fragments of the original freedom head with extra parts from the strike that were lying around in the archangel. they could even make use of the aegis head that survived the self destruct.
and i love the freedom design, it is, to me, to 3 MS design alongside the sazabi and the Xi as the best looking ms in the franchise, but making it mono eye would make it probably the best looking hands down.
That could be because the mechanical aspects are not really the main focus of the protagonists. For example IBO, Mika wouldn't have cared abt actuators and drives so they wouldn't show any of that.
But comparatively we know a lot abt the mechanical aspects of Gundam Aerial. It used a twin hybrid driver system, having electrical actuators as well as being able to run on GUND when Suletta is in the seat.
Uuuuh gamer.... Did you mean to say autistic or did you mean artistic?
AGE has that mechanical lineages tho

Mobile Suit Gundam just went full Armored Core.
That Training mech at 10:48 looks like a heavy Gundam version of a Urban mech from the Mech warrior IP.
Regarding the Derryl Barde; given that it shares most of the visible inner frame with the Dilanza, I don't think you need to go over the mechanical designer to make a pretty confident guess that it's a Jeturk suit
Potential spoiler in my comment. Another point that confirms this for me is that during the event that happened recently, they released photos of the decals for the kits. One of the photos showed the Dilanza and the Balde side to side and both had the Jeturk and what I assume is Guel's personal logo, just a stylized "G" on the shoulder. Bandai has since changed the image and removed the "G" logo on the Darilbalde's shoulder. So it could have been a spoiler but it could also be nothing.
I like the Grassley design, reminds me of Flags from Gundam 00.
Yeah, this is hard to choose. They all work really well in terms of design. I'm gonna go with Ochs though, cause those Gundams are just chef's kiss.
im torn, on one hand, i love the "chunky boi done right" vibe from jeturk, but on the other, im REALLY into the "i eat babies for breakfast" high ranking super villain from a super robo series vibe that machine from peil exudes.
grassley on the other hand, is by far the blandest to me. not a fan of the giant jewel thighs.
A windfall of content for the channel, nice to see you still grinding out the lore stuff, good work!
Love how different companies come out with different design so that people could distinguish them from each other. Each company may also have different approach in design, testing and manufacturing just like IRL. Also, Armored Core comes to mind.
Kisaragi will always be my favourite corporation in armored core(well i only have played gen 3 so yeah lol)
I am loving this channel so much
Jeturk machine looks right at home in IBO universe,
Peil machine looks like a SRW crossover,
Grassley is Gundam X Bertigo redone plus the other mob units
Ochs gundam remind me of Stardriver's Tauburn
until we see more of each "faction", i'll hold of on calling any suit my fav
I love the red highlight in the intake on the House of Peil-designed MS, that accent looks really good with grey!
Can we have a vote going?
Why does Peil give me titans vibes
9:34 Gundam Pharact could easily pass for an Armored Core mecha given its designer worked in previous Armored Core games. Same goes for the grunt suit from that same House/Company the Zowort. I want to get those model kits when they come out so bad. I feel sorry the Lfrith Thorn. This model kit is gonna be heavily cannibalized for kitbashing.
i noticed that some designs wouldnt feel out of place in diferent, non gundam universes. like the zowort, give that thing a pair of rollers, and it would fit as a nightmare frame.
Gundam meets Battle Tech
and armored core.
And Kakarot delivers the actual prologue - thanks! 💪
Thanks for the video, love lore explanation.
i think its "teek-baalang" mainly because its a mythical creature here in the Philippines, a guardian to some and a ghost to others, its a bipedal creature with a horse for a head with the rest of its body mainly being human like, but also having hooves for their feet, they guard forrests here in our country and scare people from the flora they guard, often playing tricks to people making them go in circles, making the travellers lost in a maze they somehow construct in the minds of the intruders making them go back in the same place no matter where they turn or go, with only wearing their clothes inside out being the main thing to do to escape the forrests and never to return. a running thing most of us say is when its raining even tho its sunny outside is "may kinakasal na tikbalang." or there are tikbalangs getting married, because of the unlikely weather.
now my question is: for what purpose are all of these MS development companies for? are they competing for a Military production contract, or something else?
Civilian use, probably. Civilian markets have been rarely explored in Gundam series. I think AGE one is the most developed.
@@nikoladedic6623 Cause Military love ONE standardized system therefore under only one company. Cause familiarity in their opinion is the BEST. The recent USA 6.8mm NGSW Illustrates that. A major factor of selecting SIG over the other two was the fact they contracted and made most of the US military hardware already. That and the New Generation Squad Weapon platform was similar to other weapon platforms including their own which is in service plus including at the same time adapting their new Machine gun. Military wants familiar and unity.
As Gundam heavily reflects on Military has AE Fed mostly considers them cause they made most of their stuff. The reason why they started to drop off in the later years cause the Fed wasn't happy of much they also selling to Zeon also so they created the SNRI which is in house Government backed Company. Otherwise AE probably would of kept the top spot still. Also Gundam is mostly for military so not surprising most civilian markets are untouched cause these weapons would of been easily be banned for how sensitive the tech is in them.
@@gerogyzurkov2259 i still wish by the end of it, what general dynamics and textron brought got mix w/ SIG Saur like the new plastic casing from textron and the moving barrel to augment reocil from General dynamics
Perhaps those company could patent a specific technology that came from their MS development, considering the civilization already advancing to space age, some tech from MS may benefit humanity expansion in outer space. Just like the Gundam came from prosthetic tech, maybe they could advance the prosthetic technology from the data or blueprint that came from Gundam development.
@@snippingtool7810 You can't patent military tech imo if conflicts arise maybe. By the time a lawsuit comes though however country or this case companies either gets enough data needed to do something else or drags it out to the point of irrelevantless. That's reasons why there's such things as top secret, national security, and declassified being literally 50 or more years. There things government along with contractors should imo constantly keep the lid on especially such as full capabilities of our entire military.
I hope they can keep the real robot battle style like Hathaway does.
I doubt they can do that with the amount of space magic surrounding the Gundams in this show like the Aerial
Anaheim: "Finally some worthy opponents!"
Interesting alternate universe series, I like the fact that each mecha design was done by a different artist. This should be an interesting story to follow.
this just makes me want more Armored Core. the Grassley company has the best designs to me.
Me and my Armored Core buddies have compared the Beneritt Group to pretty much Collard and the Leauge of Corporations from Armored Core 4 Answer.
House Jeturk is basically Global Arms America AKA GA, Given they use a lot of Beffy Briccy Mobile Suits, with the only Caviate being they're not using loads of explosives or heavy dakka style weapons.
House Grassley for the most part is Interior Union as they have sleek streamlines Mobile suits with a heavy emphasis on Energy based weapons so pretty much checks out there.
and House Peil is Omer Science for really only being Sussy as heck, the fact they have a Gundam means they stole or 'Aquired' Tech from competitors, Plus given what we know how Gundams work its pretty much they got the Equivilant to AC4's Aretha AKA the Prototype AC's that had a nasty Tendency to kill its pilots.
And for funzies if were throwing in House Earth their pretty much Line Ark
Its not Perfect but its just fun to brainstorm this stuff XD
The first episode was stellar! Animation was DAMN GOOD, specially when Ariel used her bits? Funnels? Shield thingamajigs.
When the Aerial's bits tore through the Dilanza, it gave me the Strike Freedom vibes...
Under 12h left, we're getting there bois
Peil's Gundam is just straight up an Armored Core. I like it a lot.
Ya know, all these houses are starting to make me think of Battletech...

Ippai Gyoubu is one of my favourite mechanical desingers.
Hdesinged the Jeddah, Moon Gundam, Jahannam, Dahack and a ton of the IBO MS for example. I really love his high scifi desings like the Dahack
so basically the premise of Armored Core in Gundam flavor.
And i love it.
Gundam should have more stories about mercenaries focusing on how they become one and why they do it with the corporations involve in a war.
we need something like the Raven's Nest with a the reveal that the mercenary contractor is infact controlled by an AI and not just some corpo bickering ending up with the result of making NEXTs (read Gundam) being the viable choice... with the entire GUND system bearing similarities to AMS if not at least Human Plus

I find it interesting that when a weapon kills its target it is good, but when the weapon kills the user its a problem, reason being this is war and in war it is just more casualties
Peil’s logo looks like a modified version of the titans emblem
I am a sucker for Ebi's stuff so naturally I love the Grassley Defense System suits a lot more.
I'd never, in a thousand years, imagine myself watching a Gundam series. But here I am. Good to know that you don't have to rewatch everything from the beginning to get into the series.

Had to watch your video again after episode 14 ...
Im not gonna lie but your pronunciation of some words and names are hilarious to me hahaha 😂😂😂 but still a very good video.
From what I can tell, the reason that they rose a stink about the Gundams of Ochs is due to the Gund Arm system. That system seems to be some form of rudimentary form of the Mobile Trace System from G Gundam but doesn't have the full body tracing and suit. Because damage could be transferred to pilots the shock could be too much and could kill. But it looks like the companies noticed the pure profits to be had and have backtracked, starting to use that very system.
If you want to do top list again, maybe try fastest and slowest mobile suits. I think for fastest it could also be separated between in combat and travel maybe because some do just travel in space to memory at least.
Its very interesting how two companies created Gundams and I wonder how that'll be worked into the story. Anways I love all the mecha designs but enjoy the Grassley ones the most they give off a graze vibe to me and I loved the Graze's and its variants.
The Corporation, the ACs, the Ravens' Nest...
All of these were formed by me.
Interesting take on Gundam where in Corporate interests are put front and center, Anaheim had been playing its cards to cater to different factions so I'm interested as to how these companies will interact. The masked person aka 'a Char' in EP1 9:48 may even be Elnora.
Pretty much confirmed to be her in Ep. 2 when she takes off her mechanical right arm.
When I hear corporations and mecha, my brain keeps thinking Armored Core.
diggin the color scheme of the grassley mobile suit
Grassley gets my instant like for being designed by Ebikawa
So we're basically dealing with what's essentially a hybridization of the Great Houses from BattleTech (Davion, Kurita, Liao, Steiner, and Marik) and the Corporations from Armored Core (Bernard and Felix Foundation, Omer, etc.).
So... Who's gonna be taking the place of the Clans?
nope. It's an anime that takes place in a school where a students RANK is determined by 1v1 battles. THE COMPANIES ARE THE CLANS 😅
The main character is Ochs/Shin Sei. The waifu is Beneritt. The Jock & Bad Boy is Jertuk. The mysterious loner is Peil. The surfer/stonner is Grassley.
@@orionhan2431 That makes sense, I suppose.
Also the crest for Dominions actually look like a modified take on Murakumo Millenium from AC1 Chrome and Murakumo are never heard off again as both corps in later AC1 entries PP taking place before AC1 and MoA taking place during AC1 but thats just me
Very nice video. Sometimes I get the companies mixed up lol
Doesnt seem to matter. The kids will all work together in the end to fight against the Masked-mommy
So far i like this universe more than the other gundam series with greedy corporation very armored core.
Mecha wise this is amazing, I can already see vast tropes from otome games so... yeah, there is that, but let see how this gets done in a few hours!
With a retrospective on G-Witch From Mercury basically it's Armored Core + Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Which is cool for me ♥
Yeah, I didn't even hear about this anime in advance, because the hype train was all about chainsaw man and more spyxfamily. But then I saw a video comparing this series to Revolutionary Girl Utena and then I knew that I needed this series in my life XD
Very interesting to me that they used different designers. I'm looking forwards to seeing more of Piel, takes me straight back to 90s designs and I love it.
Absolutely love the Armored Core vibes of the Peil suits.
Very much liking these designs...
Peil designs are super armored-core like, I check the internet and happens that designer worked on armored core V, awesome

Idea for a new series: Gundam Politics Series. With a presentation similar to CaspianReport. What's great about this is that it can even be a weekly or monthly series, basically as a visual guide to update Gundam fans about the current state of affairs if a series is currently running.
One way or another, the titans find their way into any universe
Glad Gundam is going full-on Battletech-Statsector-Armored Core mode in plot
NIce video! Where did you get all of those infos from though? The series just started
since bandai released how Gundam Pharact looks like as a gunpla... Wataru Inata really just chucked high grade AC mechanics in it... its back weapon is pretty much a booster pack from Mirage/Omer Science and has exactly NEXT Quick Boost system on it it can swivel the thrust from a forward vector into a backward vector exactly how NEXTs use their quick boosts I'm not surprised if its performance is exactly how you think they are
Pray Tell if Elan has a decent AMS compatibility so he doesnt get turned into paste if piloting Pharact unless Pharact's max QB speed is in the 100kmph and not the 600-1500kmph
I can’t wait for MG versions of these mobile suits!
Jeturk might have some of my favorites, with Ochs having grown on me from the prelude.
Peil reminds me of the Bernard & Felix Foundation, which traditionally is run by women, and specializes in high speed medium weight armored cores with potent long range weapons. Which, the person responsible for them did work for FROM and was a mechanical designer for the Armored Core.
definitely liking the peil and the ochs designs
