    If it turns out to be true, it would fit the theme of how parents view/use their children for selfish reasons. Jeturk views Guel as an asset to make his company look better and to secure a position of power, never once asking about his well being and later disowns him when he fails to accomplish certain tasks. Miorine's father views her as an asset for similar reasons, Elan was viewed as a lab rat, and Suletta is a tool for Prospera's revenge. Sadly the idea of parents using their kids and viewing them as tools to fulfill their wants is too common in the real world. A lot of parents will parade their kids like prized possessions to brag about, especially if the child is doing well in something, or neglect or even disown or abandon the ones who don't reach expectations.

    As weird as it sounds on Suletta "being on it", ironically the fanbase are calling her a Tanuki and tanukis, like foxes, are tricksters.
    My guess is that Aerial is a evolved AI that has grown attached to Suletta. Aerial doesn't want Suletta to go down the path of revenge. The biggest issue I've had with the "Eri is Aerial and not Suletta" theory is that in the prologue we already see Eri talking to Lfirth like a little sister and operating the gundbits, which is consistent with how Suletta treats Aerial and how Aerial operates. So Lfrith already had a "personality" before becoming Aerial, making it redundant for Eri to be the "family" in the robot.
    The only big difference between Lfrith and Aerial is that the former causes the GUND sickness and the later doesn't, which is the current mystery. Now that may be because Eri was sacrificed to offset the sickness, but there still may be another twist coming that'll explain it.
    P.S. I think the 21 years may refer to the true indecent that caused Prospera to loose her arm and much of her body. During the prologue we see the mom in a photo with the doctor soon after the accident that looks like it could've been taken 8 years ago.

      The thing is eri wasn't talking to the lfrgh the same way suletta talks to aerial. Eri talks to the lfrgh like a child talking to an imaginary friend before her grandma registers her biosignature to the lfrgh. During that scene Eri proclaims herself to be the lfgrhs older sister.
      I don't think the 21 year incident is a red herring. Elnora has no intention of using the gundams for revenge during the prologue, so we know the inciting incident for her revenge plot is the prologue. There is no ambiguity about this unless there was a second incident after the prologue, which would increase eris age even more.
      The biggest thing we know for sure is that aerial is the special one and it's almost definitely something unethical about it way beyond the data storm that gundams create.

    It's possible that either the Aerial was modified and/or Suletta's constant connection to the Aerial caused an "imprint" of herself into the Gundam which made it easier to handle the Gundam than most. If the Aerial is the Lfrith, it was already established that it was somewhat sentient when Eri woke it up in the prologue. Elan didn't suffer the effects of the Permet because of the "Eri" imprinted onto the Gundam, and the imprint is only getting stronger as Suletta is put into combat situations. Hence Suletta saying that Aerial's voice is a lot louder now.

    • @madmanlabs6240
      @madmanlabs6240 Год назад +2

      I think that Aerial is 2nd generation Gundam. We see Eri in prologue having same weird power lines as everyone else. Just blue. But nothing like that is present when Suletta pilot Aerial. Also from short story published around the time prologue was released we know that Aerial is sentient. This also explain why Suletta talk with it all the time. Also most likely Suletta is NOT Eri unless some crap happened. Eri was 4 when prologue happened. In Episode 1, Suletta is 17. That suggest 13 years difference. But funny enough - there was 21 years time gap between prologue and Episode 1. So that would make Eri 25 today. 8 years older than Suletta is.
      Also this add second meaning to the line where Suletta mother say that "she trust her child". She could be talking about Suletta. But it's also possible that she was talking about Aerial. You know... aERIal...
      My theory is that either Aerial is Eri somehow or Gundams really do consume pilots like prologue suggested and Eri became one of the bits Suletta is using. This would also explain why in episode 6 we see bits as small children in the eye of other pilot.
      At the end of the day - Gundam is always dark and twisted. So I'm sure there is something really bad going on that will be revealed later. There is a reason why every main villain in the series wear that dam white mask. Same mask Suletta and Eri mother is wearing.

    Run, you get one, move forward you get two(daughters). My theory is that *something* happened, and Elnora had to make a diffucult choice of either running with Ericht, or giving in to the opportunity of having Aerial(daughter) + Suletta(daughter2) (that was a copy/clone of Eri). This theory is starting to hold water for me now that episode 12 is out. It appears that "move back, gain one, move forward, gain two" phrase is a brainwashing technique. Suletta immediately stopped freaking out about her mother killing people the moment the woman said those words. She's always been a girl who has been compassionate and empathetic towards even her biggest enemies, so it's utterly out of character for her to murder someone and laugh about slipping in their blood. So if it wasn't clear before, it's clear now that she's a weapon, through and through.
    Prospera didn't strike me as the type of mother to brainwash her child and force her to kill people, at least in the prologue. But she's always had this aloof and calculated attitude towards Suletta in the main show. You'd think a woman who lost her husband would treasure the child she had with him more than that. Something's not adding up here.
    This also lends credibility to the idea that the GUND bits are clones, as Suletta's mother can just brainwash her into not worrying about it. I dunno, I need to rewatch the entire series and look out for this stuff lol

    • @foop145
      @foop145 Год назад +6

      @@sionnachrealta5534 It could be. We're very much in speculation territory, so it's really hard to say for sure. It could be that Suletta is also a cyborg, and her GUND brain lets her both pilot without ill effects, while simultaneously letting her mother control her. I'm very warm to this idea, as it incorporates what we know about how the GUND format has both prosthetic and combat advantages.
      Personally, I like the idea that the phrase opens her up to whatever the person says next, but is inert if Suletta herself utters it. We just had a big emotional moment between her and Miorine, where Suletta felt super insecure until Miorine uttered that phrase and seemingly changed her mind.
      I like this theory because it hollows Suletta and her relationships out. Instead of being a timid girl opening up to her friends and forming meaningful connections, she's a weapon with a command override code, which her "friends" have unwittingly used to manipulate her into doing what they want. But maybe I'm just in tragedy mode because of how shocked I am at the after-credits scene of episode 12 lol
      Regardless, I'm gonna rewatch it and see if my theory holds up. I didn't realize the phrase might be a "would you kindly" type situation until episode 12, so further investigation is necessary!

    A(ERI)al is a fun theory. It gives us wrinkles/textures in a show that was initially thought to be as “Gundam in highschool”. Given that the series isn’t afraid to be dark, it’s nice that the writers are easing us into it (like the end of the prologue and episode 6). They are not banking on shock value by hinting on it this early. I don’t think it’s a red herring either since they immediately showed who Prospera was in the previous episodes. They didn’t beat around the bush with that either. With that said, I love that this buzz may help WFM survive this stacked season. For the 21 years, time can get really wonky in space given that time is slower at the speed of light. So 21 years could mean differently between individuals in space.

      Time dilation only becomes a factor when you're traveling significantly fast. Since it seems unlikely ships in WFM are able to achieve such speeds - even 1% the speed of light is still 3,000 km per second! That's fast enough to go from Earth to the sun in a little over 13 hours, and that's not even taking the time to accelerate into consideration - I am pretty sure that's not what is going on here. Even Mercury itself orbits the sun at only around 47 km per second.

    My take on this is since this anime has a strong cyberpunk base Aerial is definitely a sentient AI and Suletta is Eri. Also the bit spirit thing most like a "Ghost in the machine" thing to show the Aerial is not a simple piloted robot. Another theory I have is that Prospera is ether being backed or is part of the group that is backing Jeturk, it explains how they could develop the Aerial and how she had inside information on Jeturk's actions

    • @Phantom_8222
      @Phantom_8222 Год назад +10

      My take expands to Prospera actually not being her mother but a clone/someone with her personality. She gives me the same vibes as Full Frontal / Neo Roanoke, where they inherit the identities of some other person possibly meaning that Suletta's mom has actually been dead for sometime and she could have been killed for Eri/Sulletta's capability of piloting a gundam. This could also support the theory that Eri is actually well past 17 but was brain washed into believing her mom is still alive and that her name is Sulletta. Prospera's herself could also have been tricked into believing she was a surviving witch and her mechanical arm was implanted to make her "memories" seem more like hers. As for the main antagonist, it is possible that the guy at the start of the prologue could be our main antagonist as he wanted all the witches dead to obtain the GUN-D technology because it could hold the solution to eternal life.

It also says that Prospera is gone for months because she has to go to earth for work. Based on logic, if the mom has an Alias, why would Eri be using her real name? Just to give context, Eri’s dad was the COO of the Orchs Earth Co. having the last name and same color hair as her mom would be a dead give away. That’s why Prospera dyed her hair brown and grew it out and uses the visor.

    This also explains why the other gundbits protected the disabled one instead of pressing the attack like a combat drone would, which would be tactically sound. You don't take your whole unit back to recover one man, halfway through a battle, unless that one man is 100% irreplaceable or a VIP.

Because, the guy litterally called for a Genocide of the Vanadis Institute because of the creation of the Gundam Llfrith, finding it too much dangerous (litterally branding Elnora and by extension Eri/Suletta, Witches) and in Episode 2, he was willing to detain Suletta and destroyed Aerial because it was a Gundam (Which, is logic considering the prologue) so far, so good. BUT THEN you have Peil Technologies, one of the Big three of the Beneritt Group, the same Group of which Delling is the President, which not only built what is clearly a Gundam (and said Gundam being enrolled at the Asticassia School of Technology.....of which Delling is the chairman ), but modify humans into body doubles of Elan for the sole purpose of piloting said Gundam. So why didnt he called for their extermination like he did with the Vanadis Institute? I have a hard time believing he didnt knew about the Pharect considering how fast he found out about the Aerial...

    Finally, someone who didn't all gung ho with this Aerial=Eri Theory.
    So in short, I think there is several way this plays out:
    1. Bel refering to other event completely. Bel seems didn't make any reference about Colony Raid at prologue, just some chit-chat about Propera, so it possible that she don't know exactly what happened because Cathedra censorship.
    2. If Eri = Aerial is true then most probably Suletta is Elnora other daughter. Cloning, imo, require quite a big resource and I don't see Elnora in aftermath of Colony raid could secure enough resource for that.
    3. Eri is Suletta, but at one point when playing with Aerial/Lfrith part of her brain get imprinted into Aerial, she goes coma and when she regain awareness she is a blank state like a baby, broke Elnora completely and make her plan with renaming awakened Eri as Suletta.
    At very least i think your theory that Suletta is 20 years old is actually explain why Suletta is taller than other girl of her age; its not Mercury gravity but she indeed a bit older than them.

    Considering the last episode of season 1, the possibility that Suletta is brainwash to believe that the darkness option is ok is quite probably. Also it seems that prospera cares more about Aerial than Suletta. I think that is possible that Eri have to use something of Permet Score 4 (since the Lfrith recognize only Eri and not Elnora) in another battle against gundams that use antidote (permet score 4 disables antidote) and that actually kill Eri. However somehow Eri conscience was transferred to the Lfrith. This makes Elnora insane and she became Prospera. Also there is the fact that in the novel that happen after the prologue and before episode 1, Aerial was a AI with a conscience and also thinks that Prospera words of going forward is actually brainwashing (which in the last episode make a Suletta that was afraid to killing to became a freaking psycho).

    The prologue short story (not the prologue episode. The story that takes place after the Prologue ep and prior to the first ep) tells Suletta's past in mercury *entirely from Aerial's perspective.* That's right.
    Aerial is completely sentient, far more than just an advanced AI. She also calls Prospera (Elnora) with *"Mother"* very specifically. At first I thought Aerial was imitating Suletta, but Suletta calls Prospera with "Mom."
    There is also one line that says "I cannot go against Mother's wishes, because she gave birth to me." This is a strange line since Elnora is NOT the scientist that designed Lfrith or the Gundam Units in particular. She was a test pilot / engineer, like her husband was.
    SO. It is very clear that Aerial and Elnora have a mother-daughter relationship. So the line "I have faith in my daughter" may refer to faith in Aerial more than Suletta.

    I DO think that Eri is the Ariel. However, I also think that Suletta is Eri. And to me this ties to what Dr. Cardo said before she was killed during the prologue "the Gund Format is mankind's future in space". We could assume at some point that the gund format would have lead to humans uploading their minds into machines and leaving flesh behind to live in space. My belief is that when the still developing child mind of eri interfaced with the dormant Lfrith, the on board gund format refigured itself into a clone of Eri. Hence why the theme of happy birthday, that day, Eri's twin sister was born. Also i could imagine Enola beginning to upgrade the Lfrith and discovering that its core was now a digital, sentient clone of her daughter probably messed her up a bit. I could go deeper but thats pretty much where my belief is, though I wouldn't mind a darker option either

    Well, the Gund system was meant to be used as prosthetics for people with physical conditions. It is possible that Elnora at some point adopted Suletta and raised her as her own and and Eri's younger sister. Eri became ill and the only way to save her was to merge her with the Ariel as one huge prosthetic. This could explain why Suletta is so close to the Ariel and "my darling daughter" line. Also could explain the 21-year time gap.

I remember that a child has much greater neural plasticity than an adult so whatever a child wants to learn, they learn much faster than an adult would.
    Could it be that Lfrith's AI Adapted to how Eri would think as a child, eventually copying how hair brain works? Then it basically obtained a mind of it's own of which it didn't need another brain as a processor so it became a Standalone?

Prsopera is Eri Samaya and Suletta is her clone daughter/tool for revenge, she being unable to have a child of her own for reasons.

    For those that don't know: the official tie-in short novel for the events in-between the prologue and ep1 has gotten an official translation!
    I think this whole episode has given us a lot to think about, I think the decision for them to release the official English translation of that short novel is a rather strategic one, it's almost as if they want us to have a second look at it again...
    I don't really think that Suletta herself is a clone or body double, it would seem that unlike most of the adults/enhanced humans, use of the Gund-arm format seems to have what they called a "data surge", though with the previous knowledge that this technology was emphasized a LOT originally for prosthetics, we can actually have an idea about what the actual side effect is
    Looking back at the prologue, there is a scene where Elnora's Gund-arm prosthetic stops working, it's said that it's not the first time it has happened, it's somewhat akin to a body rejecting an extra body part in a sense
    Scale that up to full out mobile suits being an extension of one's body and you begin to see the problem: the more they seem to "connect" themselves to the permet, it's almost as if the entire suit is a giant prosthetic, forcing their bodies to accept it, and the "data surge" kills them
    And back on the topic of our dear Suletta, the novel spends great detail from AERIAL'S perspective on their life on mercury, and one thing to note is the frequent time Suletta spends with Aerial, within the cockpit. It's almost like a second home for Suletta, she'd go into the cockpit to talk about her woes, play games, just about everything
    Which brings me back to the topic of the whole prosthetics thing: no single one of them has had exposure to the gund-arm format from such a young age, the connection Eri made with Lfrith's AI (which would become Aerial) would grow more and more attached to Suletta as time went on
    Aerial herself seems to have sentience, but she knows that she doesn't grow, hence why it feels that she is the more "matured" sister, but from the years spent in mercury Aerial has quite literally seen Suletta grow from a toddler to a youth. I'm guessing that Eri doesn't equal Aerial, but the connection itself is something that couldn't be artificially reproduced, one specific to Suletta and Aerial
    Okay but on a side tangent I think the opening also gives us a lot of insight considering the song itself was written based on the short novel: there's many scenes with baby Eri, it's not even about her growing to be Suletta, like a gundam ZZ evolution in the op, but rather it treats it a lot like they are two seperate people, which I think is really interesting considering small eri may very well be the representation of Aerial herself, with even the ending shot being baby Eri on the Aerial's shoulder
    Also the art on YOASOBI'S single of the opening has both baby Eri and Suletta standing NEXT to each other with the ruins of the Aerial...so there's something
    It's kinda strange to be so oddly connected to a gundam for the first time, I think this is one of the few times where I really don't want Aerial to get destroyed by the end :( hopefully the ending has everyone plus aerial living a happy ending (let me dream 😭)

    • @kisato2687
      @kisato2687 Год назад +5

      Adding onto some other animation details, it's interesting to note that till this point every single time someone has made use of the Gund-arm system, they always vocally say "permet score", and we kinda overlooked it but never once have we seen Suletta say that at all, and more intriguing is that her physical appearance doesn't even show any signs of the "link" on her face
      It would seem that for the Gund-arm system, increasing the permet score seems to be the pilot trying to "control" more of the MS, with even Elan outright saying "she can control gund-bits better than me", it leaves me to think that perhaps rather than Suletta controlling the bits, it's actually Aerial itself that's choosing to act on her will, which I think is the most interesting take on funnel controls ever, it's much less about space magic like we're used to rather the A(Eri)aI itself wanting to aid Suletta rather than Suletta wanting it to aid her (if that makes any sense)

    • @malvindang2084
      @malvindang2084 Год назад +2

      Elnora's arm not working is due to the power running out though not due to rejection. The show I'm pretty sure also does state that a data storm is the results of trying to control basically a second body and that the data load from the mobile suit overloads the brain and kills you. Not so much your body rejecting the system so much as the body not having the capacity to process the functions coming in and it torches your brain. I think permet scoring is essentially calling the system to allow for more "bandwith" to communicate with the MS which is why the data storm is more likely at higher scores. Also the lining that patterns the pilot's body i'm pretty sure is the permet mineral that is being mined on Mercury so I'm guessing increasing permet score is also increasing the amount of permet mineral being injected into the pilot and that is partly allowing for more data transmission but also causing a possible overdose?
      The focus of the Vanadis institue I think wasn't trying to make Gund-Arm safe by making it need less load to run functions but by making a smart ai that can learn and adapt functions and reduce the burden placed on the pilot. Hence why the testing Elnora is doing is calling different layers to see if the ai gives any feed back. I think she imprints off of Eri cause a child's mind is more malleable and gives a template for building the framework of the ai hence why even without a callback since it still boots up in the prologue with Eri wired in. The ai then over the course of the time leap grows and adapts as Eri spends more time and the reason for the Aerial in Cradle Star having more maturity in it's thought process is that it has spent more time with Eri and Elnora and is patterning itself off both of them.

      @@dperz8430 "Comedy" back in Shakespeare's time was basically what we consider irony. Since "The Tempest" is considered a tragic comedy, there's probably some sort of twist that will give people an "oh shit" reaction. I'm going to assume that twist will be between Prospera and Aerial since in The Tempest Ariel was Prospero's servant and a key player to completing his revenge and getting him back to power. At least in The Tempest nobody important died so here's hoping that happens here too especially with Sulleta and Aerial.

    There was an image going around a few weeks ago drawing parallels between Shakespeare's play Tge Tempest and GWitch. There is a character in the play named Ariel. Said character is a nature spirit, not a human. Ariel is one of many spirits bound in service to Prospero, and the only one given a name and lines in the play. It's more in keeping with those parallels for the Gundam Aeriel and its bits to be AIs than the enslaved souls of children. Though that's not out of the realm of possibilities. Historically, the character of Ariel in The Tempest was played by young boys, hence Elan's vision of the children.
