I think Patlabor does non-combat mecha really well, they developed mecha for basically all kinds of heavy-duty work. Especially if G Gundams mobile trace system is involved. You could control it as if it were your own body, it would make any project an MS is needed for, feel like you're just playing around in your backyard
I don't know if anyone mentioned this already but in Gundam Seed Stargazer, the Stargazer wasn't used for war but as a space exploration tool to map the cosmos.
I'd mainly use a civilian grade mobile suit to travel the world and occasionally move furniture and stuff if I planned on moving to a new house. Of course, I'd do underwater exploration if the waterproofing was plenty good and a part of me is temped to use it for fishing.
What I believe you meant to say was that the Turn A would become "the ULTIMATE washing machine", complete with triumphant fist-raising and rousing tone of voice! The German attempt tipped over if if went near a bump, the French one struggled with terrain more difficult than a Yorkshire moor, the Americans saw this, but for forty years after World War II thought they had no place in combat! So, only really us Brits got it anywhere near what you might call "right"!
For me : Farm work (digging and tilling soil, harvesting corn fields, and landscaping). I also thought that welding would also be a good thing to do in a mobile suit. Another example for racing MS would be from Gundam AGE, as Woolf Enneacle used to be a pro mobile suit racer, with the beyond Katoki fully decal'd Shaldoll-G as his main MS of choice. Another alternate MS usage from AGE was the Rogue Bat, named after its rather gothic appearance. The large bat-like wings protruding from its back were used to store extra propellant and also had radio sensors that acted similarly to a bat's echo location; both of these were added in order to maximize its efficiency in deep space mining operations after the end of the Vagan war.

"if you had your mobile suit what would you do?" That depends what kind of high jinks and shenanigans I can get away with for example the ultimate gundams ability to regenerate itself coupled with heavy-arms disrespectful amount of firepower, and the double o risers ability to teleport
Don't forget that gundams can now store souls, which would be useful for transferring ones self to a healthy replicant body that is if you don't mind overriding said replicants free will and memories, although I think this would fall under thr medicine category since it is essentially curing oneself from death
See all the ethical issues there are an issue of replicant manufacture. They solved that issue with innovades over in 00's timeline. Plus, if the tech is miniaturized enough you could (theoretically) just make a Micro-Mobile Suit and remote control it from your main psychoframe so people don't know it's not you. Still have to be a newtype most likely, but cyber-newtype production methods have surely advanced to be less traumatic right?
and Macross actually has strong civilian culture build around mecha. There are races, many people own private valks, if we consider MII, there are specialized mecha used for journalism, as standard equipment. Construction, communal works, exploration, general labor intesive tasks, there is a more or less humanoid mecha ready to use. Suprisingly, not for agriculture, but that's because resident 18 meter tall aliens actually like farming old style.
I'd like to mention that Barbatos was originally a power source for CGS due to the two Ahab Reactors before Orga had Mika pilot it. Not sure if this was exclusive to Barbatos, but yeah, Gundams and I'd assume Mobile Suits can be used as power sources.
Both versions of the Ptolemaios from Gundam 00 ran off of GN particles generated from the four Gundam's GN Drives that they stored while they were docked on the ship.
@marthofaltea1751 Oh yeah, that's right. Though if I remember correctly, the second one had its own power source but used the Gundams for a boost and Trans-Am.
@@MrBee8000 Ptolomeios II still didn't generate it's own GN particles, and had to resupply from the Gundams. It just seems like Celestial Being had simply figured out how to rig systems using GN Condensers to perform Trans-Am inbetween seasons. Another example is the 00 Raiser using Trans-Am while being powered by Condensers in the movie, or Cherudim's bits being able to go into Trans-Am too even if Lockon launched it without them connected.
Probably a mix of Stargazer and Astray Outframe exploration with backpack/core block system serving as living quarters with amenities while away from a ship. Basically a MS equivalent of a Kei Truck. can be sold for researchers, exploration, and tourism. Perhaps the sewage system can also be used as an offensive attack. 🤣 Closest we can get would be using a Raysta as a base although ZAFT had something similar "Hospital Zaku" which the ZAKU carried a special wizard pack that functioned as a medbay / clinic.
I'd like to see a series where Mobile Suits primary function is space exploration. Like, set during an earlier age of colonization -- a kind of wild west where the imaginary boarders haven't been drawn yet and prospectors are out there scouring the solar system for riches. In this largely lawless environment people start retrofitting their Mobile Suits and other tools into makeshift weapons since no one has real arms manufacturing going on out there, and a nuclear powered giant robot is still a nuclear powered giant robot.
If its the destroy gundam, maybe its big enough to not just transform into a bipedal, Big Zam-ish mobile armor, but a part-time bipedal Big Zam-ish mobile HOME?
I was about to comment on how I'd try to pull a Lelouch and go to war with the whole world, but then you clarified "other than war"...I suppose it would make a kick-ass gaming computer...
There’s also their Core Landers that double as personal transports, ie the Fighter’s personal hover car for them and their crew since it seats around 3 to 4 people I think.
1 more use for those Mobile Suit that i think you havent mention but is being seen multiple time in series use as power plant/power generator in IBO, Barbatos was first seen used as one in 00, all the original GN Drive Gundams has been seen used as one (for Ptolemy) probably few more but these are the one i rmmber
I mean, Hayato used Guntank's arm missile launchers as a stepladder for Guncannon to repair the White Base. Bright's clearly not amused by it, but hey, it worked.
I think i can describe how Mika can move with the Barbatos being connected, and i can sum it up in two ways: 1. As mikazuki recieved more feedback from the Barbatos, it would also be forced out to the point some of his muscle memories would completely disintegrate and he become paralyzed because of it. 2. The Barbatos, having originally been used with the OG Alaya-vjinana, would only work with the original, so when Mika and his pseudo-alaya-vjinana connected, the Barbatos would sense a disturbance and try to force the pilot out by proceeding to destroy the body. It might also pertain to how Mika talks to the Barbatos because the system knows he's not the original pilot but will make do at the cost of losing his.
For the Alaya Vinjayana System explaination. Think of it as the nerves in your body. Your whole body is being controlled by a series of Nervous systems. without the nervous system to receive and send information, you eventually lose the ability to use that part. Exp: Mika's right side of his body. The way the Alaya Vinjayna system works is that it acts as a connecting bridge to those nervous systems. It artificially repairs the nervous system to allow the pilot to use the Gundam. Otherwise how is a pilot who pushed the limiters of their gundam expected to pilot the suit if they cannot move their limbs
And if we include manga, you can add camera to the list (Jess Rabble and his various machines)
GN Particles also served as alien communication, poison, disconnecting mind control, healing powers and Innovation, so basically the 00 Raiser is almost an entire hospital.
The backpack was a portable apartment too

Gundam Barbatos helped a Physically Impaired Mika *ahem* help Atra conceive a child and make sure NO ONE saw them do it

"if you had your mobile suit what would you do?"
That depends what kind of high jinks and shenanigans I can get away with for example the ultimate gundams ability to regenerate itself coupled with heavy-arms disrespectful amount of firepower, and the double o risers ability to teleport
I would take one GM and one Zaku and create a daily late night talk show. The Feds and Zeon show!
You forgot to mention the Jegan being a firefighter in Hathaway's Flash
A legendary...
Strongest....
The black History tell of....
Used as laundry machine etc.
I don't know how to comment that 🗿🗿🗿🗿
Don't forget that gundams can now store souls, which would be useful for transferring ones self to a healthy replicant body that is if you don't mind overriding said replicants free will and memories, although I think this would fall under thr medicine category since it is essentially curing oneself from death
WASHING MACHINE

the duel system is basically one of the things that makes Gundam Witch Mercury an armored core like gundam
also Guel afterdeath will become Hustler One >:)
on somewhat related note, Macross has literal mecha forklifts. On skate wheels, Knightmare style.
and Macross actually has strong civilian culture build around mecha.
I just came back to watching this guy, and he still doesn't get old
Could you imagine how cool it would be to fly into school (or to work) in Wing Gundam ( with the buster rifle un-equiped of course).
Turn A Gundam asserting dominance as an OP MS both on and off the field heh, talk about multi-purpose!
7:39 own a mobile suit for home defence as Zeon Diekun intended.
On the note of Gundam 00, you can add 00 Quanta as an intergalactic Google Translate with extra neccessary steps.
Stargazer?
@@Kanae18 Unlucky for stargazer, it didn't get to do any exploration
while not a gundam, Meer Campbell used a Zaku as a stage piece, and essentially Moral Booster
Mobile Trace System for VR game as a body controller. XD heheh
That's actually a thing in the show lol
The alternate use of mobile suits is to explore many planets and far reaches of space when humanity expand its reach and colonize them.
When your washing machine can send humanity back to the stone age with little effort.
I guess thats one way to "turn a gundam"
If its the destroy gundam, maybe its big enough to not just transform into a bipedal, Big Zam-ish mobile armor, but a part-time bipedal Big Zam-ish mobile HOME?
I was about to comment on how I'd try to pull a Lelouch and go to war with the whole world, but then you clarified "other than war"...I suppose it would make a kick-ass gaming computer...

Kinda? they technically both piped Atra, Mika used Barbs to move again and so you know.

Oo! OO! I know something the Woundwort wasn't turned into! An amphibious MS!
Brought to you by Anaheim Electronics.
Not JUST pissing kerosene on the dumpster fire of the Earth Sphere.
You forgot the Astray Out-Frame: it is used for news reporting
Essentially mecha Frank West, complete with a small apartment and the beam sabers able to take different forms, including a screen for gaming
Surprised you mentioned the Woundwort but not the ReBaund Doc. Like, come one! A Baund Doc that transforms into a giant winch is insane
Imagine training to operate MS, getting the required licenses to own and use them, only to pilot It once a week to pick up groceries.
The teleportation gets even better, in the completely, undebatably non-canon SRW V, the Quan[T] manages to jump all the way to a parallel universe
The Sakibure from Awakening of the trailblazer could both teleport and was also used for deep space exploration
Alternate use of mobile suits: use it for Fighting Tournaments like Mobile Fighter Gundam did!
There’s also their Core Landers that double as personal transports, ie the Fighter’s personal hover car for them and their crew since it seats around 3 to 4 people I think.
Let's not forget about the aerial tho
Its safe to pilot. It's reliable to use. It can fly! It can dance! Aerial! \( >W
This might not count but how about any psycho frame mobile suit because it can literally make you immortal.
I would kill for a Gundam racing game in an arcad-y style, like a mecha MarioKart.
barbatos was the first gundam to see human reproduction....
And the only one that had an offspring
The Barbatos was the best Wingman in Gundam
He always had been
1 more use for those Mobile Suit that i think you havent mention but is being seen multiple time in series
use as power plant/power generator
in IBO, Barbatos was first seen used as one
in 00, all the original GN Drive Gundams has been seen used as one (for Ptolemy)
probably few more but these are the one i rmmber
Imagine if they made the zeta units into the lambo of suits.
Imagine Gundam but as camper van life vlogs.
Damn I managed to catch a video early. Keep up the good work.
I mean, Hayato used Guntank's arm missile launchers as a stepladder for Guncannon to repair the White Base. Bright's clearly not amused by it, but hey, it worked.
See? Turn A isn't a Killing machine. 5:04
Sakibure is arguably the strongest Ms build solely with construction work in mind.
Does interstellar communication between Earth humans and aliens count? (E.g.: Qan[T], which is not only used for teleportation)
forgot using the barbatos as the reactor of cgs before being used as an ms
“I use a Gundam for home defense because that’s what the founding fathers intended.”
They make some pretty crazy sounds, so i bet you could use them to make some pretty wild industrial music.
You didn't mention the food industry either. The Ariel showed it was great at mskibg tomato paste
I think i can describe how Mika can move with the Barbatos being connected, and i can sum it up in two ways:
There's also Meer Campbell's Zaku Warrior that was converted into being a stage for her performances as Lacus in Gundam Seed Destiny
Man, you can tell poor Kakarot couldn't believe the baby-making aspect.
So Barbatos doubled as Viagra? Just how much of his body functions did Mika sacrifice???
Aaa i see i thought it was with the help of Kyojiiiiii !!!!!
