Only other one for me was seasons. This one and seasons bring so much more gameplay. All other packs are lacking that.

I feel the size of the lot should have a “historic” home that council has marked which you can transform into a work shed to tie in the driveway with the newer estate towards back of lot if you wish to have the main more modern country with other packs

Or the historic home could be like a rental unit. When he has all the packs he could get a roommate who lives it the historic home. In real life it would be like an Air bnb that the family would rent out for the extra cash.
Historic buildings in the UK are known as 'Listed Buildings' - The new occupant/s wouldn't be able to make alterations without permission from the Council (owner in the Sims) That would be a fun addition to the Cottage Living pack. Or not for those who like to bulldoze and rebuild... like James.

@@Kari_B61ex James can determine if it’s a big house or just a small one level home with a bedroom/bathroom where the exterior stays the same just a little run down but the interior is just a storage room/work shed with a bathroom with the newer estate joining off the old driveway and that way he can have design freedom with newer home that doesn’t have to stay within the worlds design… Tbh he’ll do what he wishes I just thought it would be cool to have something that ties in the driveway from the world as he was thinking of doing! 😄

It think it’s funny how James did the external walls as stone because Clare (the person how built the original building) wanted to do that’s to but she couldn’t due to wallpaper limits

Did you know that carrots are actually not good for rabbits? They dont really digest properly

Yeah, apperently a carrot is comparable to a snickers bar for them. Twigs, leafes and hay should be the main feed, but Kitchen scraps ( like the peels of parsley, beetroot, celery and yes, also carrot peel) make a good snack.
I always fed my rabbit the tops & ate the actual carrot myself. I hope they add clover as a crop because both bunnies & cows LOVE clover.

Maybe you should give both the rooster and the hen the spicy treat in order to get a hatchable obsidian egg. I’m not sure if it would make any difference but I don’t think you’ve tried it yet
That's what i keep commenting under the last videos - he only got to collect hatchable eggs after he bought the rooster, so I'm pretty sure that he has to give the treat to it to get a hatchable obsidian one

I mean, I don’t think so. You don’t need to have a golden rooster to get golden eggs but maybe. I think it would be funny if he did it and it worked. Maybe it’s a bug in the game where it won’t give him the hatchable obsidian eggs or you they really only want you to get them initially by having a bad relationship with the chickens?

@@alinepereira2624 I don't think that's the case. He is still getting hatchable golden eggs. It says that chickens who are upset with you can lay obsidian eggs, so maybe their relationship is just too high for them to lay the hatchable ones
You could make the two bedrooms up stairs a jack and Jill bedroom /bathroom and then the master have an attached bathroom/walk-in

James you were doing so well and then "I guess originally it would have been closed off, in the past, but we're effectively building a brand new house..." modern houses still have closed floor plans, because we still have cold winters and nobody wants a really high heating bill or a cold house in winter. Open plans happen in apartments, because they already have a separate front door to the outside with the shared hallway as a buffer. If you have a house with a door directly to the outside, you need it to open onto a hallway, and have closable doors between the hallway and the rest of the house. Obviously it's the sims so you can do whatever you want, but if you're aiming for realistic English houses hallways are important.
We also usually have the kitchen sink facing a window, and I've never seen a stove facing a window. Traditional English cooking involves a lot of shallow frying, and boiling things for a long time. A window opposite a stove would get horribly dirty from grease splashes, but it's nice to have a view of the garden while you do the dishes.
It kills me every time James and Deli put a cooker in front of the window.
I also can't fathom doing the washing up without having a window to gaze out of.

Storytelling idea: when you have access to your saves Chaz hires a decorator for the big farm and it ends up being Hazel. They spend a lot of time together giving the farm an overhaul and end up getting close in the process.
We need an orchard in the front with fruit trees (and eventually a fizzing station from eco-life style) and then the big crops in the middle. Veggies at the back and then at the very end the animal sheds. That would be so cool
You can tell James doesn't do budget builds often because he always scrolls down to the bottom of the build catalog 😂 Loving this series, James! Will Candle get a makeover when he moves to his new lot? Or maybe he'll clean himself up when he meets Hazel.
Really loving all the cottage living videos. Very impressive that you only had the pack for a week but have been able to post a video EVERYDAY for like 12 days - if EA really isn’t paying y’all for the free advertising, they ought to be.

Your chicken coop is full, that’s why you can’t get any hatchable obsidian eggs. Try deleting a chicken or two, or maybe get a second chicken coop! :)
it's because his chickens have a good relationship with him. only an already evil chicken can lay hatchable obsidian eggs with good relationship
He doesn’t have to sell them, he can buy another chicken coop
He has been getting hatchable golden eggs despite the full coop though, I don't think the space is the problem

Love this lp! Its terrible weather in northern Norway and we already had the first “autumn storm”, so this is a good motivation to get up in my vacation 😊👍

Sims 4 makes us use our imaginations so much to make up for what it lacks as a game that I don't see the mail slot the same way you do. I can easily imagine it as a decorative plaque or even a plaque with the sim's family name on it. I hope maybe you can find a way to like the door, because I like it, too.

I'm only just watching this now, but I just wanted to say that you could have turned the house and utilised that drive for the front of the house... Because in the UK countryside, we don't use our front doors, we come in through the back door which is usually in the kitchen :)
It's a shame this is on a beta version of the game with no packs - because I know of a simply fahhhhh-bulous Dream Home Decorator who could do wonders for Chaz's barn reno, and perhaps even his heart?!?
James: I do actually need to squeeze a door right by the top of the stairs, which seems like a dangerous place for a door
Me: looks out onto the hallway where both my bedroom and the bathroom doors are at the top of the stairs in my stupid small British house

When you made the first house with the bay windows and three alont the two, it really made me laugh when you said you didn't think it looked right(before you added an out dent) because many British houses have that odd bay window and then jusr a few others sitting around 😂
Obviously I ain't seen every British House but from where ive lived both countryside and more town ish areas, it was alot like houses I see all the time
