Granger Smith I live near Columbus Ohio, it used to be a town 20yrs ago but I was just born. I can’t wait to live in a small town, and I will rep. the town even if it ain’t where I’m from🤘
So i am a south african farmer now 42, i had the privalage to go to usa in 2000 and 2002 i worked for the greatest guys . It was the GREATEST 2 years ever. I experienced the small town " tailgate" life you sing about it was amazing, all i wanna say is keep america great dont loose what you have. I have amazing memories. 2020 we sended over 6000 you South African farm boys to help you get the harvest done.
Thank you for the kind words sir. We appreciate your hospitality. This country needs help at the moment. That small tailgate lifestyle is being compromised. China is now the leader in owned farmland in the United States. Very bad.
I wish I get a hold of you cause I made a great friend in those years from South Africa. He worked for a friend of mine in Nebraska. Now I dont have his phone number and the number I have called won't listen to me.
I’m late to see this but what a lovely experience you shared with us and it’s great to hear how appreciative you are of the work I know a lot of us from the US complain about the work I wish they realized it’s really not a lot of people have it much worse It’s getting hard to find American help here on our farm but let me tell you I work 14 hour days and I’ve never once came home sore and aching from the labor I can’t say it’s bad at all the hours are a bit heafty and leave you with little free time but it’s not what everyone’s making it out to be around here I wish everyone would realize the people that dream of the opportunity
Not everyone understands the feeling of growing up in a town with the population of 300..tailgate town brings back a lot of memories! Great job, Granger!
Lost my best friend last month, played hockey together for 10+ years. Made it to states and there really wasn’t anything better. This song will never ever get old to me and I’m thankful that we have something like this to listen to. To my brother Derek, I love you my guy.
We just went to state this year for the first time ever in school history. We didn't win but nobody thought we would even get there, but the whole town supported us throughout the season, and I love the small town life.
Clifton, Texas. Born there in 82'. Thanks for always blowing away my expectations with your videos. Great to see my hometown when I've been living 13 hours away the past 29 years of my life. You absolutely made my year.
New River, Arizona born and raised on a ranch with my dad and I love your music please keep releasing more. I also have horses and dogs and cows and I’m a barrel racer rodeos I do rodeo❤
Theses songs make me wish I was a country boy born and raised in the south. But I was born and raised in NY (not the city but I wasn’t anywhere near country anyway) I now live in a country small town in NC and I love it. 🤠
What a great song. In the late 1950s and and during the 1960s and part of the 1970s, the 🇨🇱 Texas 🇨🇱 town l grew up in was exactly like what Mr. Smith is describing here. We never won any state championships (lol), but we darn sure had them grandstands full. The highschool rodeo grandstands were full as well. Sadly, that little farming town is no more..... but I definitely have my memories. 🇺🇲🙏🇺🇲
Beautiful song and video Granger. It reminds me of the small country town I live near. All the scenes you showed is just like it. Football, rodeos, fields etc. Awesome place to live. Thank you for singing about it!
The thought of knowing that there's always a good song out there that I have never heard yet or before really overwhelms me, and here I found this -- So lovely!!
Spent 4 years in Texas for school at Baylor and it quickly became home. One of my favorite things was driving through these tailgate towns on my way to wherever I was going that weekend for a bike race, a retreat, an interview, a getaway, anything like that. Seeing state championships painted on water towers was the coolest thing. Home is where the heart is, and I can’t wait to be back home in Texas again one day.
I know you are singing about a town in Texas, but I know a town in South Dakota that to me you are singing about. Taking me down a beautiful old dirt road.
Born in Lufkin, Texas and raised in Tatum, Texas. Moved back to Lufkin after HS and married my HS sweetheart that I had meet in Lufkin during the Summer between my Jr. and Sr. year! We have been married 28 years.
I live in a town called Eatonville WA and it's like 2-3 hours from seattle, we just got our first stoplight a couple of years ago. My town is becoming very populated though and it's sad. It's used to be that every single friday night the whole entire town would show up to the football games but we never went to state and we dont that have whole small town look anymore. I'm afraid my small town is gonna be like seattle soon. We only have 3 churchs, one grocery store, a middle school, high school, and an elementary school, the Sears that was here moved out because they didnt have enough business. So please cherish those tailgate towns when you can because they are amazing.
I can’t believe I have never heard of this guy before the first song I ever heard was his newly released song diesel, I only knew it because of whistlin diesel. Absolutely amazing song!!
I grew up in a big city of Los Angeles. I left and I pursue my dream of raising a family in a small town in the MidWest. I love every moments of it. My kids are all grown up and I still enjoy living in my tailgate town. Best American dream far better than riches.
My hometown in Oregon wasn't even big enough to have a fast food joint, but we had two pizza places, and a blinking yellow light. Stereotypical country town. Even had a water tower.
Middle of nowhere, West Michigan. Seems every vacation we figure “we could live here.” Be it Nashville, the U.P, Wisconsin, East PA.. we always come home.
Trenton, Tn home of the Golden Tide. Back to back state champs on a 36 game win streak. Longest active streak in TN. Playing for 3 straight this weekend. ROLL TIDE!!!

Grew up an Air Force Brat, but I always loved my Grandparents farm in KY. This is where I visited every Summer. After raising my family & working 35 years, I finally have my own farm to call home, not too far from Scottsville, Ky.
Arlington Texas is my hometown. But I have been in Pflugerville for over 25 years. I am a 5th gen Texas and proud of it. Granger, you make great music.
From Kenya this song is in my favorite playlist every time I listen to it, am filled with goosebumps. Sobs... it catches me in a special way that myself I don’t understand. Love this song
Grew up in a small Illinois town of 1000 people near the Mississippi River and wouldn't change it. I miss it from time to time the farms and smells but I'm happy now but I know my roots.
One thing I like about grangers music it’s always such a positive comment section besides the whole ford dodge and Chevy disputes there all trucks but besides the point it’s nice to see positivity instead of talking about murder and guns aka rap.but thanks for bringing these great songs
So many memories of combining oats and grains, how I miss my childhood raised on the farm. Even daughters did it all too! PROUD FARMERS DAUGHTER AND MOTHER!🚜💯✝️🕊💜🐄
What's your hometown? Let me know in the comments!

Granger is the definition of real country music.
Y'all don't understand. When I say that this is one of the songs that describes my dream life. The type of town I would've liked to grow up in.
This reminds me of a young boy growing up on the farm in South Africa. Country life
It’s not just for small towners we all get the feels when listening to this everyone relates just a little.
I'm a Dutchman, and even I relate to this. Granger Smith speaks to us all!
Absolutely
I agree
That's country music bud ain't the whole wide world just one big country song

this song is immensely powerful, inspirational and special to all of us that were fortunate enough to grow up and live in a tailgate town

One of the most powerful GS songs ever, in my opinion. So many innuendos, really hits in the heart.
