    What are you referring to when you say to push straight down?

      Thanks for the question.
      I like to think about, once in the set up position, pushing both feet down into the floor. Or thinking about pushing the world away, rather than lifter the bar.
      So my energy is driven down, I think this helps keep the lower body better engaged.

    are you supposed to catch the bar at the bottom of the squat or standing then squat after catching it

      We recommend for beginners meeting it at the top and riding into the squat. This will be just above parallel. The hard part about the clean is generally the front squat so we want to catch in a position that allows ourselves to time a good bounce out of the clean. Hope that helps!
