There are many laws that reduce gun violence, unfortunately Texas is not using them. The Uvalde families requested that the GOP Texas legislature raise the age for AR 15 purchase to age 21. The Texas legislature said no. How do you say no to these Uvalde mothers for a reasonable common sense measure like age 21 for a semi automatic military styled weapon? Florida raised the AR 15 age limit to 21 after Parkland, plus red flags, and Florida saw improvement. Laws work, but you have to pass them first. 💙🌊💙🗽
Highest gun death rates: Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alabama, Wyoming. Lowest gun death rates:. Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island. Gun control works. Before the pandemic, NYC was enjoying historically low crime rates. Strict gun control got us there. Saturating the population with guns, that doesn't work. Abbott declared Texas a gun sanctuary state, no permits, open carry, over the objections of Texas law enforcement. That doesn't work. Abbott claims that the only problem is mental health, yet he stripped funding for mental health services from the state budget.
