Hi Matt, I think the best adventure for the wee Panda would be to drive it back home and get it an MOT and keep the wee thing alive and then you could take it back to Spain. Anyway thanks for another great video
Yes I agree that is a good idea keep th wee thing going
Totally agree be a pity to waste it I bought one as a 2nd car runaround to basically abuse but tbh I actually really like the thing & gradually getting it as good as it can be ...
Nice one matt
That's like me I've got a 15 year-old Audi A6 and I love it . I service it and look after it and it hasn't put a foot wrong but unfortunately up here they're bringing in low emission zones in the city and I can't drive it in the city now
Can't a UK car pass MOT in Gibraltar?
Thanks for taking us around Matt.
North Africa sounds like fun
Yep I second that idea
Congrats on 300k subscribers! Keep up the good content
Thanks! Will do!
@@HighPeakAutos You could fit all your subscribers into Wembley stadium three times over. Not bad at all.
Your a man that likes the shake without the salt just how the old school bar snack should be. Love the content bro your rocking it without the salt!😊
@@billybonds4449 mind blowing
No need to unbolt the battery positive cable ,there is a quick release on the Neg post. Keep it on the road for a long time and do some "TopGear" style adventures.
like driving it to Vietnam towing a caravan
@@localreviewking134 I stopped watching Top Gear when it became more about the presenters and their silly adventures, than the cars themselves.
Those were the days when you could disconnect your battery and leave the car without worrying about having the security code handy for your radio!
My dad had a Fiat Panda of about the same vintage as yours based at his holiday home in France. He once drove it all the way from the UK down to Greece and then back to southern France. It didn’t put a wheel wrong. Great little cars.
It's all you need in a car to be honest for general purposes. Park it anywhere, without worry. Also, the perfect car when you don't have to prove yourself to anyone.
That's funny to read because in Italy (at least in the south) they are the most stolen car and people have to use additional steering wheel lock systems.
I agree. I have one and it is perfect for around town.
Great to see the Panda is still going. Old Fiats are the best and what value for £250.00, priceless!!!
North Africa on the Ferry sounds like an interesting adventure for the £250 Panda .Although possibly not in the middle of summer unless you get the air con gassed..
Should always disconnect the negative terminal on a battery first. Rather than the positive. Great little car.
Happy to see the little Panda still going about. My mother has a 2011 1,2 petrol in the exact same colour, and with the same wheeltrims. Used to drive it a lot back when I still lived with my parents and didn't have my own car yet. They are quite fun to drive. Love the cheap car videos, great content! Hope to see more stuff with the Panda in the future.
High Matt - that £250 Fiat looks fantastic, and its reliable for a trip to north Africa!?
(I was surprised when you connected the battery - without tightening the terminal it still started!!!!)
Mike
Got to say the comments advocating taking it back to the UK have got my vote too. Then it isn't left to expire on a little patch of foreign land that will be forever England (or Italian English). Deserves better. I get that doing effectively the same thing only in reverse isn't possibly the greatest idea for another episode on here, but the interest would be in the trip rather than the arriving. Choose a different and interesting route. Then, of course you could keep it, sell it or even raffle it.
Fantastic little car. Bring it back for a new MoT! She deserves it ☺☺👍👍
Had a petrol one of these for 4 years, only required cambelt, oil changes and new brakes. Italian engineering at its finest... 🇮🇹
I think you’ve definitively answered the ‘should you buy a used Fiat Panda for £250 question’. What a car! Yes please to one more adventure. North Africa ferry trip would be cool.
These cheap little runabouts are normally the best you could ever own. One thing for sure’ you will have some great memories in the decades to come. I could tell you plenty of stories about my old Zastava Yugo “which cost me £60”. Unbelievable how long and well she lasted 😲
So right. I miss my 2007 Peugeot 107 so much, loads of memories and stories with it. Despite being just a humble little city car and it really ingrained itself into my memory. Even though I have a better car than that now part of me really regrets selling it
@@reececollison5101 ✊ good times 💯
@@reececollison5101 second that, altough my 107 is a bit younger its still kicking
Bought a 1.2 petrol in 2005 and had it for twelve trouble free years and I know it’s still going with its new owner! These are really good but rather underrated (unless you’re Jame May!) and I loved mine!
i have my panda 2005 and still. owned it. reluctant to swap for a newer car. good reliable and easy car to drive.👍👍👍
Hi Matt .. You have started something with little Red ! Everyone loves it ! We need another epic roadtrip, The worlds your Oyster ! Regards Chris West Yorkshire 🇬🇧
The best adventure would be MOT for one more year. You can’t let this car die!
I have so much respect for those little Fiats - so much useful reliable car for so little money.
Yes - do North Africa.
Brilliant cars Matt. I'm on my 4th one. Please don't do one more trip and then park it up. It deserves better, so get future MOT's for it and keep using it.
had a panda myself and hired a few on holidays, superb little runarounds very reliable and much fun, love em.
I owned a 54 plate Fiat Punto 5 door . I was out of the country for 8 months . I disconnected the battery as you did. And when I got back it started first time . Amazing cars. I miss my old friend .
I'd like to see a house tour on the house in Spain. Looks interesting from what I could see in the video
Went to Gib when serving in the Army- love to see the panda drive around the Rock👍
£250 well spent Matt. Nice update video too. Definitely worth gassing the air con. It will just keep going on in Spain for you. Look after it! Huge Congratulations Matt on the 300k subscribers 👌👏
Best car you’ve had mate. I would love to see you do more adventures with it!
Yes, I too like these 'old banger' videos which remind me how cheap motoring can be if you cope with the ego drop! Thank you, Matt!
Enjoyed watching the series, reliability should not be a problem, I had a punto van with this engine when they first came out, doing courier work...... 310,000 miles with only a set of glow plugs and sold it to another courier who put around another 100,000 on it.
Please bring it back to the UK to get another MOT, it deserves it!
Keep up the good work.
Perfect little car to use when you go to Spain. Hired this model of car many times whilst on holidays in Calpe Costa Blanca
Well done Matt, sensible "theory" to leave handbrake off etc. Great vids, keep up the good work. Cheers
Take the little Panda to Africa, on a one way ticket and see if you can sell it at a PROFIT !! Should make a good video.
This is the definition of a cool little car.
There is lots to explore in GIBRALTAR
YOU CAN DRIVE TO THE TOP OF THE ROCK AND BACK
EXPLORE THE WW2 TUNNLES AND CAVES
Keep going lad, 300k subs is mad. I was with you at 40k great to see you growing In confidence and I’ve learnt loads too!
The way cars are being made so complex now its refreshing to know there are still cars out there that are simple to maintain if you have some money and a half decent mechanic u can trust. Now with the more modern cars as well prices through the roof to buy them, its impossible to fault find on them too even with diagnostics.
Blimey 301k sub’s congratulations fella 🎉🎉
Africa sounds interesting, gets my vote. Does anyone remember “Discarnect “ : simple device to cut off battery when car is standing for a while.
Casablanca has a nice ring to it Matt! About 960Km round-trip I'm sure the old girl would make it, just make sure you have breakdown cover though! Congrats on 300k subs.
Honestly think it having a new life in Spain as a holiday car could be great! Keep the MOT up and just use it
According to the DVLA you cannot SORN a UK registered car unless it is actually in the UK. Also you cannot keep a UK registered car in Spain (or EU) for more than 180 days without changing it on to Spanish plates!
No love heart from Matt to your comment.
@@mrsociable1288 some people don’t like the facts I guess…
If it’s on my own property I’ll do as I please. If that means taking it off the road then so be it
I watched your video and showed my dad a picture of your car in Spain now I’ve convinced him we need a trip (driving) to France
That thing is such a little trooper, very econimical but yet its got charachter and is kind of goofy!
Great video as always and thank you for taking us around Matt! :D
Take the Panda to Morocco!
Thanks!
this car is what gets italy to move around, you can find them literally everywhere here, you can find spare parts even if you're stranded in the most rural parts of italy. my mom has a 2012 lpg one and she's had a 1996 one before that, best cars we've had in our family. god bless the panda
I really like them. Simple, honest transport
🎉 300,000 subscribers! 🎉
Very well deserved, carry on doing exactly what you’re doing, it’s informative, fun and entertaining. 👏🏻
Such a relaxing video,..never doubted the Panda either😁
You can send that 1.3 jtd wherever you like, it'll be just fine!
AND FOR THE FIAT PANDA WOULD BE A NICE LITTLE TRIP TO GIBRALTAR
Honestly matt, this impressed me that the panda started up like. My new 1991 J reg renault 19 that i bought off my dad fired straight up after sitting for 3.5 years, nice video Matt!
I'd hate to insult you by suggesting that I am like you, but like you, I see the attraction of many and varied cars. The fact that you so love Range Rovers and yet also have a soft spot for you Panda! Never tire of watching your videos - always entertaining not to mention informative.
I love variety
Before you even said it, I thought, "Take her to Africa. Show us what she's made of!" You will find time. Time is a the most precious commodity and you will definitely get a 10x return on your investment. Tomorrow I'm actually taking 3-4 days driving back to UK from Estepona - gonna take my time and savour it. Keep the videos coming Matt - you're doing a great job!
Nice simple video Matt. You look like you have a great life but you deserve it because you put the effort in. Thanks for posting different interesting car related content.
That's exciting to see you driving around in neighbourhood and see familiar places in video!! Greetings from Benalmadena! On a side note have to say, that you have been an inspiration to start looking into flipping cars in Spain as a side hustle!
Nice change of pace this video, keeps the channel interesting 😊….gotta ❤ the no frills Panda.
Enjoyed the video. For the first time in many years we currently don’t have a Fiat on our drive…we’ve had several…Puntos and 500’s…and they have never let us down. In a weird sort of way I miss having a Fiat 😢
6:26 i recognise that petrol station its at the rotunda higueron right at the slip road onto the ap7. Been busted twice coming out of that petrol station and crossing over the double lines to get onto the slip road malaga direction. Hahah i used to live about 3 mins from there near the estupa. Brings back memories
Didn't surprise me! I ran a Panda for years and it was the most reliable car I've ever owned, and took me everywhere. Thanks for sharing the journey with us! Morocco might be interesting, although the roads can be a bit pothole-strewn (imagine that!)
Thanks for the video Matt. The Panda is an awesome car, I had a 2010 model in yellow :) it was a 1.1l petrol, eco active so basic spec (no rev counter). Would love to see you take it to Tangier :)
Brilliant video. You need to do a trip to Italy 🇮🇹 in the fiat panda and visit the fiat factory. The birth place of your Fiat panda.
Heyy!, really luvved your videos on this little Panda…and all…the travelling, scenery and how you present this….soo natural but yet so entertaining …compliments…i bought one of these too, at a bargain price, thought id sell it after a week…, but ive had it for three years now!, 😂
Beautiful Benalmadena! Next time you are over, let me know, and i will show you Malaga! Greetings from NWC. Paco
Great channel.I’ve only just discovered you and I’m hooked, not sure why but it’s become compulsive viewing 😂👌🏻
Thanks!
I've had a RS2000, Caterham, Z4 amongst many others . . . Also had 2 pandas a 100hp and a 1.2. Boy oh boy that 1.2 takes some beating what a car !
Thanks for the update Matt. Great little motor for the money. Easily a HPA legend!
Go to Carthage! Would be great for us history buffs
Only just realised the subscriber's congratulations matt🤙🏼 you deserve way more especially from all the quality and very informative video's you keep putting out! keep it up mate 👍🏻
Hi Matt,Last year me and the missus went to Como in Italy, it is beautiful,I`de like to see you drive this lovely little Panda round lake Como, it`s home country!🙂
Years ago when we were getting our business going we did a long term hire on a couple of Puntos and they were tremendous fun. Revvy, willing and full of the joys of an Italian summer. Fiat get a bad wrap, but I love their honesty. The Bic lighters of the car world.
Goodness Gracious!
Drive to the UK via the usual curvy motorcycle routes that little cars love, smile at all the lady-adventure-motorcyclists along the way and get the MOT for 12 months.
Had to watch this after the initial roadtrip, cheerzzz Matt on the cheap, useful and reliable Panda. I think a trip back to England with a visit to the Le Mans track would be great. Wondering what lap time it could do 😅
@HighPeakAutos Took me 3 years before I realised you had to push the aircon dial in to turn it on, PSA for anyone who didn't know about that awfully intuitive feature haha! paid £1000 7 years ago for an 08 plate still going strong!
Yes North Africa sounds the treat. Multi continental tourer, car and driver. Maybe just another local Panda for the daily driver and driveway space filler, as you can rent something sporty now and then as the mood changes.
I thought Morocco just before you said it,,Tangier too Casablanca. 4 hours coastal Rd. I'd love to see that one
South Africa sound's like a fun trip Matt, enjoy your short break 😊
Bought 2005 Panda as my first car... Looking to buy Panda again. Great little reliable car.
Take it to Torremolinos and treat it to some Gambas Pil pil! Lovely local restaurant, owned by an elderly gent, called casa Antonio. Just across the road from the melia de sol! (Malaga is my practically my second home with work)
Plain to see how much you love that little car Matt, you've even burned your legs to a matching fire engine red!!! 😂 Seriously brilliant little motor for the money. But if you take it to North Africa pack some sun block.
I have a 64 plate Fiat Panda 4x4 multijet currently sitting around 58K. As you do sometimes I have thrown considerable money at it to keep it the way I want it. New shocks, droplinks, brakes, propshaft and of course servicing. I have had an issue since I bought it which manifested itself as a feeling like there was a large pebble in the front tyre...but only after it warmed up. Despite many trips to various garages no one could find anything wrong with it, in fact some of them didn't drive it far enough to get the problem, then said there was nothing wrong with it. One garage said that it was a few small bits of grit in the tyres causing the problem, or that the Michelin Crossclimate2's I had fitted to it all round was the problem. This while I was having the oils replaced in the rear diff, the transfer case and the Gearbox itself. It was the Oil change on the gearbox that gave the game away (yet they still did not attribute it to that, metal filings on the sump plug....(Saying your gearbox is living on borrowed time) Anyway its currently having the gearbox rebuilt and a new clutch...The cause of the stone in the tyre feeling was a bent tooth on the Gearbox output pinion.
I fully understand why you enjoy driving the panda, it is completely unpretentious, yet like a small dog begging for a walk and more capable than many people will ever know. I also have a 2020 Ford Kuga Tdci, the keys generally get left and the panda keys picked up most of the time... its that good.
I think you can take the panda anywhere and it will give everything its got to get you there, leaving quite a few other vehicles floundering and giving up. Yes its no Range rover, but stick a set of appropriate tyres for the terrain on it and you can take it a lot further than most.... You'll have fun on your adventure Matt, wherever you end up going.
Nice Panda! What about a last pilgrimage to Torino, where the Fiat HQs are?
LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL SCENERY TO SEE DEFINATELY WORTH A DRIVE
Evening all
If you made 20 videos with that panda, I would watch them all with any topic... Pandas are great cars.
Take it up to the top of Gibraltar to St Michael's Cave, the little panda would be fun on them roads.
Hi Matt, This has to be THE perfect car for southern Spain, (once the aircon is fixed!) You need one that you don’t mind getting a little bit bumped or the paint scratched! A road trip to Portugal😅 via Tarifa for me please! Great coast road).
Cheers!
I think your little pinto should go and have a little look round its home in Turin Matt .great watching your travels
happy 300,000 subs. Congratulations
Love Pandas, great personality. I’ve got the 4 x 4 mk3, great when it snows
Yes! The Panda is back.
And also... Yes! Take it on a trip to North Africa.
Hi Matt - really love theses Spain videos. As a (non-tax resident) homeowner and a car owner out there I am always looking for deals to upgrade my 2017 LHD Mokka. Its such low mileage (50,000 km) I haven’t found anywhere I can get a good deal. I have looked at importing from EU German reg Merc and Audi stuff but here in Alicante province - the local govt dictate the value for tax purposes and import duty which is frankly ridiculous. Love to see a short video from you on importing into Spain if you know any way of getting the cost down. The upside I suppose is that my 2017 Mokka (which cost €15 two years ago) is still worth the same - zero deviation pretty much
I can totally picture you in Tangiers with the little Panda
Thanks for the update. Salt n Shake crisps always remind me of my Nan.
Cheap and cheerful is always a good thing, for some reason it gives you a carefree attitude towards it’s ownership, keep it mot’d and that way you don’t need to worry about who parks across the driveway
Great vid Mat - I think you should do a road trip down to Marachech - the roads all all Chinese silky smooth, if you know what I mean
Never thought I'd hear you say something like "I remember when all this was field's..." Laugh out loud stuff Matt. And how about taking a Panda to the Sahara? That'd be a real adventure.
What a cracking little car you've got there Matt...Defo get the AC re gassed and i would either bring it back home and get it moved on 4 a profit which you'd clearly make or if you holiday a few times a year keep it at your holiday home...really enjoyed this video Matt...Well done m8...👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Take a trip up to Ronda on the winding road and then come down to Gibraltar. After Gib take the ferry across to Ceuta from Algeciras. Found some great bargains in Ceuta.
Hi matt absolutely love the videos would be great if it got a fresh MOT then it can be kept alive a lot longer would be such a shame to jusr let it sit and you do say you love it then you don't have to rush an adventure you'd have a lot more time to find time to go on one with it too keep up the good work!🚘Always love it when i see you've uploaded a video 🙂
Well done on hitting the 300k
Having fond memories of my own Panda MJ I'd like to volunteer to drive her back for its MOT. For a reasonable fee, of course. An amount of around £1,000 seems reasonable to me. Plus accommodation in 5* hotels along the way.
I left a Citroen C4 Picasso ( one of your less favourite cars) standing for 2 years and it started just like that after I charged the battery. Modern diesels seem to be very good a standing for a while.
Haha, so pleased it's still running.
Use it to drive back to the UK in, especially as flight tickets are so expensive in the peak of summer!
