In a house full of boys the washer dryer never stop so any break in service is a problem. Super helpful video, tested thermostat and no continuity. Took it out from the back, gave it a wack and presto continuity and dryer working great now. Thanks again.
I watched the whole video twice and didn't see where it was suggested to tap on the high limit but since people had mentioned it in the comments I figured I'd give it a try and it worked. This is a great detailed video. Thanks for saving me a good bit of money.
Awesome video with great instructions! I disconnected the wires for control panel & took that off. Made moving the "bulkhead" easier. I wacked the fuse - thinking you were crazy, but wow - it worked! Going to buy a replacement fuse anyway as a backup, but it'll work for now. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this detailed video... So easy...followed your steps, no continuity on thermostat no matter on the banging of it. $5.69 for the part on Amazon with two days shipping put it in and working great all for $5.69 !!! You saved me much money on a service call !!!
from the beginning the dryer was not heating after watching your video i did the same test on to dent the hi-limit so i then pick up a new one replace it now im getting a tE ,
Thank you so much for your input. My LG machine suddenly stopped drying. I checked the filter and saw a bunch of lint buildup-the probable cause. I ordered a few sensors on Amazon, got them delivered next day. Opened up the dryer, ran a continuity test and got no signal on the high limit sensor. Reset the sensor by pressing its button, and got a signal when I ran the continuity test again. Cleaned up the dryer real good, put it back together and was able to get it to dry again. Will probably keep the sensors in case anything fails. Your help was enormous-thanks!
Some of these critters have what is called a thermister. It sits by the blower next to the thermofuse. It is literally a probe looking thing. the continuity on that thing should be around 11K at room termparature. If that critter's range is either open or closed, you have to replace it or you won't have any heat.
Thank you for the video!! I have the same dryer with the same issue. Although tapping it did not work for me but it did point me in the right direction. Part ordered, will update tomorrow after install.
What's the part that your replaced at 7:00minute? I think that's what my Dryer is having issue. I try to reach in and click on the button but it doesn't click.
I Had to pause when he corrected himself calling the bulkhead the manifold to comment & salute him 😂😂😂 I said the Bulkhead to myself and kinda thought if I should watch anymore, but that cleanup kept me tuned in bro! Good video, very helpful.
There are 2 4" plastic hand holes on either side and you can also pull out the exhaust tube to get access and don't have to take the whole thing apart.
@@truthteller50 There are cut-outs on the sides along the bottom covred wtih plastic covers. You can pop those off and get your hands in there so you don;t have to take apart the entire maching to change a $5 part.
@@TexasEdition thanks, I’ve already gone through the entire tear down and rebuild. My model must be slightly different because it didn’t have those holes. Unfortunately a couple weeks after the fix it started squealing. Has to be belt or one of the wheels, but don’t understand how that could jack up after two weeks of use. Ugh.
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance It blew fuses even when it vented in to an open basement. I put it down to poor design, I'd cleaned and replaced a lot of parts in that machine even the control board. It's now been replaced by an LG with flow sense.
QUESTION: at the 6:10 mark in this video you run continuity tests. My hi-limit and thermostat check out. However, your first check (between yellow and blue leads on the heating element) differs from my result. You get continuity, I get a crackling sound out of my multimeter and a reading around 40 Ohms. Yellow to Red and Blue to Red give me the satisfying beep. I am thinking I need to replace my entire heating element. Any advice you can offer is appreciated.
My steam is not hooked up since I moved into my new place and now it's having problems. It won't start unless I unplug it and plug it back in. Is it doing this because the steam isn't hooked up? I paid a repairman over a hundred bucks to look at it. He didn't even take it apart to check any thing and did know what was wrong. The he called me the next day to tell me it would be $750 to repair it. Can You help me.
Ok, got the high limit switch out (by only taking the side access port off), and it has no continuity. I gave it a couple good whacks, and all that did was dent the top of the circle - still no continuity. Any idea where to find a replacement?
I keep having my fuse blow. It has a reset button on it. I don’t know what’s causing the fuse to blow nearly every load. There is no obstruction anywhere.
I have an lg tromm and replaced the heating element with the fuse and thermostat and it still doesn't heat, dryer seems to be stuck on "cooling", had it apart twice now hmmmm
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I just replaced the heating element with the fuse in a model dlex3370w and it's still not heating as well. How would I order those parts for this?

there is clearly a part of the video missing around 7:09 - it jumps from him taking it out to him talking about something else. Must have been there.

be aware if the hi limit tripped, it usually means the thermostat has failed. the thermostat cuts the power at a lower temperature than the Hi limit.

That’s a great way to get in there, especially on the right side.
What does it mean exactly that there are hand holes? What good does that do you?

Use a muffin tin to keep track of the screws
What fuse should I get? Do u have an Amazon link?
Can i still check continuity if power is cut
You bet👍😊
You seems to be doing all these while connected to power . Is it safe ?
Much better to cut power first👍
The insides a very similar to my Samsung, that keeps popping its high limit fuse, despite thorough clearing.
Usually a very clogged dryer vent tube.

So what happens when both are good. Put new heating element in and still won't heat up.
How about the 2 breakers for the dryer.
Are they both on?

Completely disassembling my dryer and trying to put it back together doesn't seem "quick and easy" - and no explanation about "testing continuity"
And then 8 mins in.. oh you can just stick your hands in these two holes instead of taking the whole thing apart.
