    Searching for reasons that our LG dryer (relatively new) wasn't drying completely and found this. We had replaced the lint screen multiple times and cleaned it before every load. Pulled out the lint screen and looked inside - OMG - I thought the lint in the video was a lot!! Will be checking under the lint screen more often now. Hoping the next load actually dries in one cycle!

    There are 4 screws on the inside of dryer holding the lint assembly in place. Take those out and you can pull whole assembly out and clean it. And below it where lint and debris cake up.

    I hate these new school washer dryers, I prefer Speed Queen, made right, still in Ripon Wisconsin.
    Seems like most laundry appliances are either rebranded GE stuff or Euro/Asian stuff at inflated prices. Not to say the Speed Queen are inexpensive, but they are commercial quality, just like laundromats use and will run forever, almost like the legendary Maytag's used to.
    Good find though, dryers are funny things, we all use them and it uses a ton of energy, and wears out our clothes faster too.

    • @Rebel9668
      @Rebel9668 5 лет назад +3

      The Speed Queens made after 2018 suck. They don't agitate the clothes anymore and they don't get them clean. I had decided on getting one until I saw videos of the new ones showing how bad they are at cleaning clothes now. I'll stick with my 20 year old Whirlpool for as long as I can keep it repaired. So far all I've had to do with it is replace the agitator dogs.

      @@Rebel9668 Oh I agree, this newer junk, out with them fancy DC motors and more computing power than needed. What ever happened to a synchronous timer motor? I have some spare agitator dogs for an 1984 Kenmore still cranking out the chores every wash day. It uses a ton of water too... perfect

      Spot on. I'm not a fan of these new front loading units. I prefer the standard "old school" top loading Washers, and the basic Dryer. They do a way better job and they are not so over engineered they last long and are easy to repair when needed.
      Side note... These units are at my Mother in law's home, she has a love hate relationship with them, she loves how much she spent on them, but kind of dislikes their performance....LOL!

      There is a sensor strip on the front of the lint filter housing, try cleaning it off with something abrasive like comet or Ajax powder cleansers. I believe the wax from the dryer sheets build up over time and mess with the resistance that the sensor strips need to read. (ie moisture). I must be honest, we no longer use these units and now use Top loading bottom of the line Maytag washer and old school Maytag dryer, the performance is WAY better. GOOD RIDDANCE FRONT LOADING JUNK. Cheers.

    Just got a new LG set in mid December and the dryer does not work. You can set it for 59 minutes and it goes to four minutes and shuts off. We have purchased a lint cleaning tool that goes to all of the venting and there’s nothing in there it’s clean on both sides. It hasn’t been used enough to have any buildup. I believe the sensors are faulty and I personally just want them to take it away and refund my money.

    That screen looks like a poor design. They should have made a cupped screen like on the old style dryers to keep debris from settling in the bottom. I'll keep using the old style as long as I have one or can find one. Same with my washer. I'll keep using a top loader with an agitator. The new ones don't use enough water to get the clothes clean.
