'The game you're playing has more of an effect on your experience' than does your equipment. This is 100% true. Up until about 6 months ago, I was still rocking the PSVR1 on a launch PS4. But playing good, fun, immersive games like Moss, Astro Bot, Trover Saves the Universe, and Blood and Truth, the dated tech barely mattered. I was still loving my time in the headset because the experience was awesome. Get what you can comfortably afford, enjoy it without regret.
I bought a meta quest 3s for Black Friday and I can say that it is a great option for people on a tight budget. Since I have tried every meta quest headset I can say that the fresnel lenses on the quest 3s don’t have that much of a disadvantage from the quest 3 since you are still getting the same processor and full color mixed reality.
7:23 Its resolvable for standalone VR. Alittle difficult for PCVR with link cable. However wireless PC vr (Steam Link, VDT and Meta AirLink) fixes that issue.
Why does everybody forget that you can still purchase a 128gb version of the Quest 3? That's the one I got and it was on sale new for $379. It was definitely worth getting Quest 3 over 3S for the higher resolution and the better lenses. The Quest 3S is great for people who are just getting into VR, but Quest 3 is night and day over the Quest 2.
I was so deadset on a Quest 3 512 gb because I knew I was going to be using the device for years like 5 years like I did the Quest 2 but then during cyber monday they gave you 100$ back on the 3S and at that price you can't really say no, At essentially 200$ with batman arkham shadow I can live with deciding to maybe get a quest 3 or whatever new headset comes in 2-3 years
finally someone who understands that looks is just freakin looks as long as its playable MOATLY storage of quest 3 up the scales making it more reasonable.
Totally agree. If you're new to VR or on REALLY TIGHT budget transitioning from 2 - 3 the 3S is a great option. However, i found that when i tried the 3S briefly at a store demo, almost a year after i got my 3, my first reaction was "eew.." haha. My eyes are spoiled by the Quest 3 pancake lenses and resolution. hard to beat.

As someone who's played on a quest 2 for years, and before that a quest 1, it really isn't that bad. For the price, it's a great deal. If you already have a quest 2, get a quest 3 though.
Is it worth upgrading from a Pico 4? I really want to know how it feels on the face, while using an upgrade strap. The Pico 4 somehow feels worse than the Quest 2.
@@AkiTsukita I've never used the Pico before. But as I understand it they've got the same system of third party straps as Meta. Isn't that pass through lacking stereoscopic depth? Or something like that?
@bringhurstvr Yep, pass through is so bad. Might even be worse than Q2, even though Pico 4 pass through has color. But Pico 4 90hz is the major reason I'm considering upgrading, because I'm used to Quest 2 120hz and my PC monitor 200hz.
I have both 3 and 3s and 3 have a problem when creating a guardian to properly adjust level of my floor if there's not enough light sources. 3S hasn't that problem because of build-in IR illuminators.
I got the Quest 3 with 512gbs at launch. Now for me after a year of playing it and getting many games Im down to 90gbs. I need the big stoage personally cause I play almost everything on standalone even though I have a pc which does pcvr great. But I got my friend a Quest 3 128gb headset cause he only has like 5 games on there and doesnt play it as much as me. While I have like 100games installed and play them all from time to time. @@blindpsychopath4368 I've been strictly PCVR lately, and the 3S actually shines there. The increased resolution does it a lot of favors. But that's not gonna be most people.

@penjuan3603 it's not overhyped. Only saying this to people who haven't tried VR yet and/or those who are pinching pennies. Quest 3 is King, but it won't make financial sense to everyone.
@@bringhurstvr Oh yeah, for sure. Q3/512Gb best by far imho. Better to buy once rather than cheaping out. The Q3’s/128Gb just doesn’t make any sense, to me anyway. Each to their own I guess.
I agree completely, right up until I realized most of these sales were going to kids under 16 for Christmas. Anyone who's never been in VR will find it totally usable. It won't offer the best clarity or most storage, but I don't think it's gonna matter to those who just came in hot.
