About Young Sheldon:
It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

Missy is so funny,the interactions they have with each other as a family is pure gold
She’s my favourite character, plus I relate to her the most.
Missy is quite an intelligent character and probably the most normal sibling. Sheldon has manners that are way too much for his age and the older brother just wants to be independent.

I watched season one a long while ago, recently just watched season 2 and 3 back to back and didn’t realise how much they grew until I heard Georgie’s voice and how young Sheldon looks
It's because it's the pilot, so filmed even earlier than the rest of the season would have been

Last night, I had a dream that I was at a Chinese restaurant with the Coopers. They did everything you'd expect them to do. Sheldon would state facts, Meemaw being mean to George, Mary getting on to Missy, and Georgie being Georgie. And even though it was a dream, I still had a good time.

Sheldon literally called his elder brother a monkey and all Mary does is say that no one's adopted. He keeps being a jerk to Georgie throughout dinner. This is why he grew up to be such a prat.
He meant "Monkey" in a scientific, pre-historic, humans evolved from monkeys kind of way.
I guess that's always how Sheldon speaks, and his friends seem to understand it positively as well. So, nbd.
I agree that Mary favors Sheldon too much but I don’t think this is that much of a example. Notice how it was missy who first started the food fight but Mary was pointing her finger and screaming at Georgie. That is just one perk of being the oldest kid of the family. 😂
