Okay, but real talk: The professors in this game have to be some of the most callous villains Game Freak have ever put in Pokemon. The Paradise Protection Protocol was an extra failsafe they put in to terminate anyone trying to stop the Time Machine by locking their pokeballs and then siccing a murderous future pokemon on school kids
Gotta love how Arven’s whole world was shattered finding out his dad is dead and now the robot one goes out to get milk, and then Nemona kinda just goes “ok cool, what’s next?”

@The Weavile dude I loved finding out she was from a wealthy family like you wouldn't know that at all given how little we know about her other than she LOOOOOOOOOOVES pokemon battling. But her actually resenting her parents' wealth and letting the sister take over is kinda cool. So yeah big agree that Nemona wouldn't really know how to handle the situation, other than in the way SHE knows how-to make it an adventure. SHE WOULD'VE BEEN SUCH A FUN RIVAL TO ASH I'M SO SAD HE'LL NEVER GET TO MEET HER. *sobs*
Nemona's lack of emotional intelligence really shines when Arven is going through what is undoubtedly the single most stressful and depressing event in his life, god damn
While that is true, in the end it’s her trying to take his mind off of it alongside Penny that helps him. The way they decide to take the long way home to go on a longer adventure is such a lowkey beautiful moment. Because in real life, when people are struggling with these heavy issues that nobody can really do much about, it can do so much good just to invite them out with a group of friends and take their mind off of it. Nemona definitely said some insensitive things, but she really did help him in the end, and I find it so wholesome and surprising that they end the story on an answer I feel most people don’t know about.

Alpharad is the first person I’ve ever seen to care about Nemona more than Arven or Team Star and I can’t help but wonder if his willing ignorance of the dialogue had anything to do with it. That said, it makes me so happy that he genuinely enjoyed the battle with Nemona and the Area Zero finale. Those really are two of the spots where the game shines brightest and gets you hyped
Honestly for me, it's a super close 3-way tie, but Nemona is at the top for me. I really like her story and personality, and while I think the others shine brighter in other spots, Nemona is the shiniest star of them all.
Arven had a pretty interesting storyline but the game doesn’t dive too deep into it which is probably why I didn’t get as invested as some I just didn’t like the Team Star plot line lol, like sure they were bullied but I personally felt like it wasn’t that fleshed out, plus Penny as a character is fun or charming like Arven or Nemona Nemona is just a hyper energetic rival who’s capable in battles and a bombastic personality I enjoy. And since I care about battling the most I liked her plot line the most lol
Honestly I had a similar experience to Jacob in my playthrough. Nemona being a rival who is literally holding back till your final fight is amazing. The one complaint i have about your rivalry is not even about her, its about how Geeta is the top champion even though Nemona is not only harder with a more cohesive team, but somehow not the top champion?! Nemona’s story and personality is just nearly perfect. Her motives and desires are pretty damn clear from the get go and up till the end is literally cheering you on so that she could find her treasure which is finding the perfect rival who could make battling not mundane anymore
@collin campbell That's besides the point. You cannot bash and criticize a story when you completely ignored the story. It's like if I said a movie sucked but I didn't watch it. One has no place criticizing something they didn't consume.
My god this annoyed the shit out of me too. He gets so worked up over a story he DIDN'T READ. "They're just a bunch of rich kids" when one of the big things was that they wouldn't accept help from their parents and made everything themselves.
Alpharad skipping through the dialogue explaining that Turo brought 2 Miraidon to the present, and then getting confused as to why there are 2 Miraidon, and also why none of the other characters are confused as to why there are 2 Miraidon, will never not be upsetting.
fr, most poketubers always skip the dialogue then get confused and call the story bad when theyre the one who dont read. amusing, but mainly infuriating.
@@emilymonahan5232 I feel like its not too far from the harsh truths about the education system, a group of students are bullied to the point of standing up against their bullies, leading to them being blamed for acting out and being violent, and the teachers are ignorant to the bullying going on in the first place.
Honestly, I had just assumed Turo's head not moving was because the animation team was lazy, but the fact that it's relevant with him being a robot actually blows my mind. All the budget for this game went into story, I guess...

I'm glad Alpha picked up on the fact that the reason why Miraidon's pokeball wasn't locked was because it belonged to Turo. That was such an "aha" moment as I was playing through the game and I loved it.
i actually never picked up on that… i thought it was just like “miraidon’s ball isnt locked because of their undying loyalty” or something like that but thats actually smart
I'll be honest, when I played it I thought that Arven's dog was dying of old age and he was in denial and looking for these mythical plants because he was desperately searching for anything to save its life. Turns out it was just injured, and I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for some tough story threads, but then the game pulled a fast one on me by saying "instead of his dog, it's his DAD! AND his dad's actually been dead for YEARS", so I actually love that
@troomatot402 well you could say its evolved herbs that weren't affected by humans and had grown and evolved to so certain things. Funny story, on the pre-champion assessment I answered "Larry" to the gym leader who gave me the most difficulty. So when he appeared as an Elite four member I thought the game was literally trolling me with the Gym leader who gave me the hardest time lol
I really WISH they did that, it would make everyone's run feel so much more unique. And they already have teams for all the other gym leaders anyway, so they could have easily used those. (Even if Larry became a flying type specialist instead)
What I would have liked to see would have been if they replaced the gym leader who you selected as being the easiest during your post-game boss rush with Larry. Getting one of them replaced for underperforming on their yearly review would have made all the other meaningless choices seem worth it. Plus I hate Brassius enough to want to get him fired out of spite 🧐
It just occurred to me that in the beginning, when "Cassiopea" hacks your phone, she may have meant that instead of finding your phone number online or hacking the school's personal data files, she locally hacked your phone via public Wi-Fi to get your phone number, and THEN called you like a normal person. Just another crime I guess.
@@daviddaniel8304 That doesn't mean it's the whole point. The point of team star was to have a group where people were free to express themselves without being accosted by bullies

The thing you missed is that Fairy Kid was the only rich kid. Team Star was supposed to be an anti-bullying vigilante group, and then they decided that that wasn't working and decided to resort to seperatism

The real reason we need voice acting: So that Alpharad doesnt have to attempt to read dialogue, skip 90% of it, and then say that it doesnt make sense I saw a video where they said How much you like Starfall Street depends on how much you resonate with them but maybe it actually depends on how well you can read
honestly the only thing i find, cheesy, about that plot is the bullying angle in a school setting, but i guess i was lucky through my highschool. or maybe my time on the internet has just jaded my reactions to bully plots in general.
There are two possible reasons for Alpha not liking Starfall Street: First reason-He didn't read the rext. Second reason-He was never bullied, he was the bully and because of that he doesn't relate at all
Even ignoring the bullying piece, it's mostly a cute "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" story plot. Like it's nothing crazy, but that angle is a good vibe.
I mean considering his three houses takes I just don’t think he has story comprehension. How did he get “edelgard killed her siblings” out of her directly saying they were all experimented on and she was the sole survivor of the torture?

And let’s not forget that on top of Arven getting no closure to his daddy issues, the time he spent desperately searching for a way to heal is dying partner left him sorely behind on his schoolwork. I don’t think there is a single character in a game rated E for everyone that suffers as much as Arven does.
Arven does get his little bit of extra story game, but 100% you’re right. Even post game hes struggling to find his place with not having a particular task during the setup at the ace tournament. Penny cannot be jailed due to being a child, and she's literally under the eyes of Geeta, who's hinted to be a very aggressive person in secret.
Thinking about it, Geeta seems like the only person who is still affiliated with the school after the whole bullying thing. And every single gym leader seems to despise her.

I really liked the climax with the two Miraidons showing their stuff. You could tell they were both going hard on each other and throbbing with power, but the terastalization win shows that it's not just about how big your Miraidon is, it's about how you use it.
This is why I love this game. Every character has an ending, but it isn't a real ending. Because life always goes on, even afer the highest highs and lowest lows. It's not like they're being an asshole to Arven. They're all just teenagers, and they're trying to do the best for their friend even after he got such terrible news. Knowing now that the legendary pokemon Miraidon/Koraidon were the future/past versions of Cyclizar, it now makes sense as to why it's stats are so high even though you can catch him in one of the first areas
In case you were wondering why there are random poke balls around the make like I did, it seems like its because they’re used for reference point when making the cutscene animations and they forgot to remove them before launch. Yes, this game is definitely finished
It’s actually just another consequence of the memory leak glitch. The cutscene loads in the last model loaded in the RAM, which is typically a pokeball, instead of unloading it. I don’t know all of the details but Bulbapedia explains it really well, pretty much 99% of the game’s problems are caused by RAM issues lol
@@emilyofjane I don't think so. If you have a pokemon team with different pokeballs and then switch the first pokemon in your team with another then the ball will also change. He’s the reason the exist in the first place. Which makes it all the more ironic that he, whether jokingly or not, ends up acting like exactly what Team Star were made to fight against. Ignorant, unsympathetic and cruel. That part however is kind of just the character Alpharad, which is an over exaggeration of Jacob the person.
In one of his alpharad gold video he "claims" that he did know and paid attention to the story, and just wanted to had his own "interpretation” (he did seems pretty upset at the team star stuff specifically. So he’s basically saying he was upset at stuff he himself added in, or was he faking being upset?)
@@Zoroark_Master I love how to this day people still think he does all this stuff genuinely. It's all about content baby. He lied in 2 pokemon nuzlockes (he pretended he lost lol) for better content, he redoes many shots live and exaggerates parts of his character for better content, and he prefers to build his own storyline rather than follow the game's. I love him. (Also he's right about the crimes but it's pokemon whatcha gonna do.)
The ending made me want to cry. We've had all of these "little child saves the world and everyone is happy" games, but then Scarlet and Violet had to come over and destroy our emotions.
if the game had been on 3ds, the graphics would've perfectly suited the screen, but it wasn't, and the graphics only look good from a distance. Still, I agree, the rest of the game is great.
@@zixvirzjghamn737 I don't really get why people are always complaining and sobbing about the graphics- like if you enjoy the game, it should look good to you(unless it is like terribly awful). Could you explain why people always make a big deal about the graphics?
Like, my god, have seen barely any video not complaining about the FPS. Stop crying about 30 FPS i have to play roblox arsenal with unironically 5 FPS. Yall are just spoiled 💀
Alright, I have to do a second comment to mention that I think the Team Star storyline is actually incredible. Alpharad skipped all the dialogue of the Team Star storyline where Penny talks about how she was doing it to stop Team Star because it grew out of control. She took responsibility for stuff she didn't do just so her friends wouldn't get hurt. and her friends were just waiting for the big boss to return from Galar (which ultimately makes me want to believe Penny had a G-max Eevee once). so ultimately, it was just a story of unraveling the truth behind what truly went down before the game. And that's kind of cool to me. Not only is Penny's character and friends the most relatable to me, but the Starfall Street story hit different. not to mention Team Star has some of the best music in the game, coming in behind the Area Zero music (which was made by Toby Fox, as in Undertale and Deltarune). Ultimately, this might have been one of the best Pokémon team storylines in the game if you play along with it and listen to the dialogue.
Alpha really should've taken his own words to heart when he said "I know people say the line between bravery and stupidity is a fine one, but I don't think they meant literacy."
@@Ender41948 technically yeah, but seeing a bad champion team and saying “this is what a half-completed game looks like” for just that reason is weird.
Alpha, as a bullied child the team star storyline is nice. its nice being able to have that power fantasy while not having to deal with the products of a power fantasy
The Star arc had to do with a group of outcasts who were abused by bullies while the school did nothing, so they teamed up and they scared the bullies to leave the school. The victims of bullying were blamed and they left and isolated themselves from fear. The way it played out *is* cheesy, but the problem is Alpha most likely didn't even know that part of the story since he kept skipping dialogue. Just kinda pisses me off.
I apologize, but I cannot see why Team Star continued to operate like it did after Operation Star. The game states that Cassiopeia/Penny took all of the blame for the event and was only sent back to Galar as punishment. All the staff and faculty at the time resigned out of shame for glossing over the bullying, and even the bullies eventually all dropped out. Somehow, despite this being a massive scandal, it was forgotten about due to the former director (I forgot his proper title) throwing away records of the event. I went to a private school that was no stranger to sweeping things under the rug, but having scores of students charge onto campus in massive, Poketrucks to confront their bullies is a difficult event to sweep under the rug. Overall, I have no idea why the members of Team Star, who did have very touching stories and relations, did not simply return to school instead of risk expulsion by playing hooky all day.
This is all I was thinking about when he was complaining about Team Star. He definietly skipped every segment about the kids being bullied and in turn became the bullies. It's meant to serve as a tragic story.
@@knightshade2654 I feel like it was definitely a testament to how they were treated. Even if all the staff resigned out of guilt, that wouldn't make someone feel better. In fact, it may make them even angrier, because they get to hang their head in shame and then have no real repercussions for allowing children to be treated so terribly that they had to round up and threaten their bullies. Like they resigned, so they could just go on and get a new job without any sort of complications. Some other reasons I think they didn't go back was: They felt safer as team star bosses than they did in school They felt a sense of commitment to both eachother and Cassiopeia to not let team star die They felt that they would be bullied again once they return They wanted to stick it to a school system, ran by adults who failed to look to protect them, then felt guilty after the fact
Everyone's immediate reaction to Geeta is how underwhelming she is. Can't believe how quickly the fandom has labeled her the worst champion in Pokemon history, never thought Diantha would be dethroned.
Was Diantha really that bad? I started on XY when I was 9 so I thought she was tough (but I also put Cut on my Delphox and used a masterball on a normal Eevee soooo)
She stuck the Pokemon that should have been her lead in the back and then she didn't bother putting the Pokemon she had that works best as a trump card, in the last spot. Kingambit would have loved to come out after everything else fainted!
If you’re gonna give her gimmick pokemon at least implement them right omg And also WHY THE RANDOM GEN 6 POKEMON??? There’s so many cool Paldea pokemon that could’ve been on her team like Palafin, Ceruledge/Armarouge, Tinkaton, and Gimmighoul’s evolution. Everything about her team just hits all the wrong notes and I hate it
The robot professor literally explained that they're trapped in area zero. Meaning going to the future/past is literally suicide. We literally watched a suicide in a pokemon game.
You say that as if there wouldn't be terra crystals in the past/future? I mean, the crater is over a million years old, so Sada would've had to go WAAAAYYYY far back to get to a point where the crystals didn't exist yet, and Turo is going to the future, where the only uncertainty is if the terra crystals were mined out or not.
Note that the Professor also has tera crystals on their body now after they themselves terastalized. It’s very possible that they may still be able to move around and exist and whatnot. Or they were completely wrong and will in fact die. Either way they had to do it so that the machine would shut down.
Arven had 3 total parents. One ran off around the time he was born, one was absent most of his life and then got killed, and the third commits suicide in front of him. It's a rough life for arven
I have some major issues about your comments on team start... 1) they were ALL severely bullied so they formed star 2) only Ortega is rich, and actually DOESN'T take money from parents, making their own stuff and inventions through their own efforts 3) they broke school rules, didn't show up, and even went as far as to literally round up and attack the ones who bullied each of them for being different (weird). 4) this story and the fact the consequences didn't really happen is simple... here in the US we seemingly love to imprison troubled kids and adults after a single offense, and instead of helping them and re-educating them, we throw them under the rug and expect them to just change and get better. Hell lots of the crimes, especially on impoverished or lower class kids, get embelished by prosecutors all the time to increase the sentence, just to ensure a sentence passes. SO this story is more about how you can help troubled youth without just throwing them away and hoping for the best. Penny comitting a felony is serious sure, but giving her an outlet to use her talent for good is MUCH fucking better than arresting her. especially since no malice was present, and she did it to protect her friends and hurt no one what so ever by hacking in. I clearly saw you ignore the story, and then complain it was the "1%" getting away with shit, but that couldn't be further from what it was.
@@declanhickie1394 i mean, he got so mad over it so for him it is, and for people watching him he looks like an idiot as he actively complains about the story premise while not reading it so blatantly it actually made me think he was joking, so it does get annoying

The real reason we need voice acting: So that Alpharad doesnt have to attempt to read dialogue, skip 90% of it, and then say that it doesnt make sense
I saw a video where they said How much you like Starfall Street depends on how much you resonate with them but maybe it actually depends on how well you can read
honestly the only thing i find, cheesy, about that plot is the bullying angle in a school setting, but i guess i was lucky through my highschool. or maybe my time on the internet has just jaded my reactions to bully plots in general.
There are two possible reasons for Alpha not liking Starfall Street:
First reason-He didn't read the rext.
@@tpfoxCastro there's a middle point. where he wasn't bullied so doesn't resonate with it, but wasn't a bully either. people aren't only bullies or victims of bullying. most people are neither.
Fun Fact: during the glitch effect against the Paradise Protection Protocol, the text briefly says "AI Turo/Sada has no intention of fighting any more!"

@@quirkyqwertyto1055 I don’t think the team has anything to do with the quality of the game, it’s just a bad team
@@boomermoment3893 More time to playtest and develop the game might have fixed that oversight with the team and made it more functional.

@@Ender41948 technically yeah, but seeing a bad champion team and saying “this is what a half-completed game looks like” for just that reason is weird.
I'm kind of impressed he kept in the whole giant segment where he yelled about how much he didn't read anything about Team Star.
Feels like an "ignorant people are the loudest" moment
Also considering how many people yelled at him about that.
Like how it pissed everyone else off
I apologize, but I cannot see why Team Star continued to operate like it did after Operation Star.
Some other reasons I think they didn't go back was:
They felt safer as team star bosses than they did in school
They felt a sense of commitment to both eachother and Cassiopeia to not let team star die
They felt that they would be bullied again once they return
They wanted to stick it to a school system, ran by adults who failed to look to protect them, then felt guilty after the fact
I think it's more because the "bullying" story point is awful and it's hard to feel bad for any of the admins or leader.
Seeing larry getting judged by god via a pink gremlin with a hammer will always be funny
@@YawnBlue there must have been a reason for dlc or something like why would they make such an obviously dumb decision

Arven wasn't using his dog to fight those iron hands, he was fighting them on his own.
The editor in this video did an AWESOME job. Honestly Alpharad needs to pay this guy more for their work
The robot professor literally explained that they're trapped in area zero.
He said only humans are incapable of traveling through time.
@@thelonemask Yeah, but his AI doesn't work without the massive amount of crystals in area zero.
Arven had 3 total parents. One ran off around the time he was born, one was absent most of his life and then got killed, and the third commits suicide in front of him. It's a rough life for arven
I have some major issues about your comments on team start...
1) they were ALL severely bullied so they formed star
2) only Ortega is rich, and actually DOESN'T take money from parents, making their own stuff and inventions through their own efforts
3) they broke school rules, didn't show up, and even went as far as to literally round up and attack the ones who bullied each of them for being different (weird).
It’s really not that deep
