I have a suggestion to those who want to buy a lazer jet printer and can't afford one or just don't want to put a lot of money into another printer. I just bought 2 at a barn sale for $20 each. One is a HP and the other is a brother. Both work. I knew the people who owned them and they just upgraded to other printers for their business. I would check thrift stores and yard sales also. But I am so happy I found these. Gonna keep one for a spare.
Awesome video! I love paper that looks old and your options and graphic methods were superb. Old written letter stamps are perfect on this paper. Guess I’ll have to start ANOTHER project, like I don’t already have a thousand going already! But a stack of these on hand is a good thing when you’re creating anything aged. My favorite was the lace method. You can layer so many things on these papers and create a one if a kind piece of art. Great video!
I love this idea. I'm pretty simple. Live used in most of my life in many areas. I don't have a lot of craft supplies, gadgets. I like I can do this with what I have. And love it more!
I'm chuckling t myself about the leaves.... the first leaves well guess what my rude mind thought they looked like? Lol I'm in love with the circles and the squares. And I have some large elastic bands. But I need a nicer spray bottle. The ones I have from cleaning solutions have broken sprayers. I will be buying one for this fun idea. Thank, you so so much. I forgot to,use my rack. That's cool
This style of staining paper is beautiful. I love the different designs. The designs are limitless. The graphics you printed are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Glad that you make these video’s because I love them
They turned out beautiful!! That really looks like a fun project. I went to my UPS store & had a sheet of quotes (reversed) & had laser copies made. Just finished rubbing the paper off. They turned out beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your creativity. See you next time. God bless you. 🥰
Thank you for the inspiration on other things to do on my coffee and tea dyed paper. I do like to take the plain paper and crunch it into a ball then gently flatten it out leaving the ridges then dye it and sometimes use a small ink pad and lightly go over the ridges to accent it and once dried iron them out flat or use my hands to flatten them out. Thanks for sharing this video. :)
Awesome awesome ideas for grungy antique papers I have a whole box of extremely old manila tags I cannot wait to do this technique on them again thank you for the awesome idea and inspiration God bless
This is the greatest technique for adding some detail to the paper. I really liked the variety of things you used. There was something for everyone. I was amazed at the detail you achieved with the lace. I need to pick up some instant coffee!!! I actually was trying to figure out what paper to use for a stencil project and you just provided me with the answer.
These turned out great!!! I almost didn't watch because I've seen stuff like this before but I'm so glad I did. Refresher coarse! 😎 TY,always,FS your talents 💛TR
I'm new to your channel and absolutely love the leave pattern, so many wonderful ideas, thankyou for this, never thought of using elastic bands. OMG!!!. wonderful, enjoying your channel. thanku, xx
Good morning, Deidra I truly enjoy your ideas and projects; well done. I have a question about the tea/coffee staining. Given that both strong tea and instant coffee have a distinctive smell does this process leave behind an odor when dry? Keep up the good work and fun ideas.
Good afternoon! First, thank you for these amazing videos, it really inspires us for our upcoming homebased commerce. We have a question, though, following a failed test. What do you use as varnish/sealer when you do your crafts with Mod Podge? We used a Krylon spray-on varnish, but the varnish made a weird reaction with the mod podge, and it simply peeled off and took some of the underlying layer with it. Looking through some forums, we found a Minwax Polycrylic varnish; would you recommend it, and if not, what do you use? Thank you! - the Labelle family
I only use poly acrylic water-based sealer as my topcoat here is the link to my favourite make sure you’re buying water-based if not and it’s oil it will yellow youramzn.to/3TakKnM

Actually, most everything Deidre does has been done for decades. She isn't quite as old as I am, but I've been crafting for many years. I was a window dresser (that's what they called us in the old days lol) and we made some of our props. You learn to get creative! Deidre just picked up on the trends and put it on RUclips, etc ...

I might have missed it, but, how long does the paper sit in the water?
It will depend how dark you want paper I will leave for 5 or 10 minutes
do you have to iron before printing
I always do just makes it go through the printer easier
I don't know how you come up with these ideas
Actually, most everything Deidre does has been done for decades. She isn't quite as old as I am, but I've been crafting for many years. hi there Deidre, i wanted to ask you a question the other day when you did a live q&a but i couldnt remember what it was until after the show ended.
here's the question if that's alright... is there a way to Seal Wrapping Paper without it wrinkling?
i have this super elaborate design on this tower i made of old coffee cans & i used a lot of wrapping paper on it, & the thin amount of glue i tried to use wrinkled the paper so i used double stick tape.
i'm guessing that i cannot use a decoupage type of product to seal it since it'll warp that thin wrapping paper, but i do need it sealed, as the humidity is causing some lifting.
it doesnt have to be perfect as im not selling it, is there some sort of sealant that is not water-based that would be okay for that thin paper? ...or i was even wondering if there's some roll of plastic that'll heat seal on or something? ....i dont know, i looked around online for a solution but found nothing, do you have any ideas?
Use spray matte acrylic sealer ... you can buy at Walmart, Home Depot, etc...
@@cathithomas2888 thank you.
Sounds like a fantastic project the other thing that might work well is to use a spray adhesive and that would illuminate some bubbling and Wrinkling
@@OurUpcycledLife thank you
I love your channel so inspiring, and you are Canadian.

Can I ask you how do you dry your paper?
Out in sun or in oven on low setting for a few minutes
