I use the bigger is better theory. the 5:29 is such a small gear they break easy if you push it hard. that is my opinion so take it how you want. sounds like you have a sweet rig!
Wow!! Great videos dude. That looked like lots of work. But great work all the way around. I would like to know the exhaust system you are using? I like the sound. Thanks in advance
@@austinsoffroadgarage yea even stock they only get ok fuel economy, 20 mpg depending on you drive the slow beast. I'm always amazed when guys build this 20+ year old truck to overland or seriously offroad. They make it work and they do it without replacing the motor with a v8. Very nice work
Yes these are the KM3s. I haven't had them in like deep snow but they do good in what snow i have had them in. i really liked my ko2s in the snow. on the rocks though these tires kill it!

Do you mind sharing what rpm your 4Runner is at in 5th gear at 65 or 70mph? I have a 98 4WD manual trans 4Runner and I don’t know if I should do 4.88 or 5.29s. Thanks man! Awesome channel by the way!
I have a 2000 4Runner no lockers right now - but looking to get it done this year! What do I need to do ? I am new to this and if you can send me info or point me in the right direction that would be awesome! From what I am reading gears are 4.10 So I am guessing I need to replace rear and front diffs to 4.30 ? Is that correct. I can reuse my rear axles ? Feel free to email me as I am not on here often | rafael.d.hernandez@gmail.com
I have been wheeling Toyota's for a while and I've seen more 5:29s break than anything. so i wanted keep the ring and pinion as big as possible but still re gear. Plenty of power with the 4:88s. That's my opinion on the matter.
Hell yeah dude! Nice choice on the air line sheath 👍🏼🤘🏼similar to what I did except opposite if that makes sense. Be cool to link up with you if you are ever out in Colorado or if I make it down to Utah to do some wheeling and do some dual locked runners 😈
Yeah man been long over due! Oh very nice they make a great product 👍 For sure man. I want to go to Ouray after the fj this year I think. I'll definitely let you know. Awesome I will look into the gear oil.
Would you do a video on what rpm does 35s run on those 488 gears on highway speeds thanks.
I will do that for sure!
This was an awesome series on the channel. Glad to see it ripping!
Awesome thanks for watching 🤘 more to come.
How did u break in front diff
4H dirt roads
Did you have to trim out the switch hole to get the rocker switch ?
Nope. Fit perfectly.
Sweet runner! Im running same set up as yours but in auto, supercharged and same tire/wheel combo. Would you recommend going w/ 5.29 instead 4.88?

what rear bumper did you get?
4xinnovations rear swing out.
Have you tried 430's with 35's? what was that like, Im in GJ, CO so not to far from you
I personally have not. Nice been there a few times.

Thank you! It took some time but well worth it! Just have a magnaflow muffler it was on it when I bought it. Gives it a nice tone for sure
Austin Brown Thanks Austin. Did you have to cut anything to fit the 38’s into the fenders? If so do you have a video on that?
@@rudyg.4294 I wish I had 38s haha but I run 35s and I still had to cut a ton. Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/VlPi6NfJEhM/видео.html

haha I love it. thanks.
"No! I gotta control myself!" - said every man before they didn't control themselves 😆
Hahaha no doubt!
I know these aren't Prius... But with the re-gear, what do you see for fuel economy with the 35's, gears and bower?
Never done the math. But I usually get like 200-215 miles a tank
@@austinsoffroadgarage damn mine is stock and I get over 300 on a tank

Just have a magnaflow muffler is all. Gives it a nice low tone. No raspy V6 noise at all. I like it.
Is it a 3.0D or a 3.4
3.4
