I believe I just got a pair of red eyed tree frogs from you yesterday at the expo! Just happened across your page love the content and the frogs are doing awesome!
I’m glad they’re doing awesome for you and I do remember you! I raised those lil squirts up since they were babies! I actually am planning on making another bioactive build for my other normal red eyes that I still have! As my skills have gotten better since this old video!
I’m glad to hear that I like the light it grows my plants pretty well. I believe I have a couple options of recommendation in the description. From my experience the nicrew is my go out of the two now from Amazon. Thanks for watching
it’s actually better to paint the background black then go through with lighter colors, helps with shadows and highlights, also a little green would give a mossy look 🙂
I set up my first vivarium with the help of your videos. It's been over a month now and today I noticed extra small white mites. I have 5 phyllobates vittatus in the tank. What can I do?
What lighting would you suggest for this sort of set up? I’m starting to build my red eyed tree frog habitat but my vivarium will be in a room with minimal lighting, I want the frogs and plants to thrive. Also how would you suggest heating this habitat? My home will not be warm enough to keep the habitat at proper temperature throughout the day.
I'd Recommend this lighting right is what I use 24/7 Hygger Led Light amzn.to/36ifJGL You could try to use a heat lamp with a 29 watt bulb but make sure to monitor your temps
I don’t use a uvb as it isn’t needed but can be beneficial! I do use a heat lamp with very low wattage like 29 watts with a timer on it. As I only have it on for probably 4ish hours a day.
Hey love the channel, I've literally just found you today and subscribed 😀 however I need to say that philodendron and monstera are two different types of plant what you have there is a monstera, not sure what kinda but for sure a monstera.
Hey man appreciate you taking the time to watch my content and subscribing. You’re absolutely right too! It’s kinda embarrassing that I got it mixed up. But hey what can I say I’m human!🫠🌱🫠🌱
Question, I am currently in process of making a bio active terrarium for my tree frogs but for the clean up crew I was told springtails and other super small bugs will get out of the enclosure? Wasn’t sure if you’ve had that and if you have what did you do?
I have never had any of my microfauna escape, and even if they did they would most certainly die off rather quickly. Springtails and isopods need a good amount of humidity to survive. Hope that was helpful!
I’m not having bacteria problems at all at this time. However recent studies have shown that more naturalistic vivariums such as bioactive creates beneficial bacteria for tree frogs and helps fight off bad bacteria.
People out here still wearing hats like that in 2022. Wild.
check reflections, not even wearing pants hahahahah

I have two RETFs and am ready to switch to bioactive. I’m worried about them finding their food. Do you feed crickets in yours or something else?
Hi thank you for this informative video. Do the frogs need a heat lamp or mat? Or a UVB lamp? I’m in the U.K. TIA

I love them, can someone keep 10 pieces of Red eyed frog in a big terrarium ?
I love them too! Typical rule of thumb for frogs is 1 frog per 10 gallons. So maybe 100 gallon enclosure should do!
Can you send me a link for the moss and plants and thanks I have 10 red eyes but all stalwart plants temporary
Where do you get that brand foam at my hardware store doesn't carry it
Can I use this exact setup for a black eyed tree frog or does it need to be different? Also does the tank need to be at a certain humidity?
How loud are they at night? I want to keep them too but they would be in my bedroom and im afraid that they could disturb my sleep
They are loud.. Bought one and wasn't sure if it was a male or female until he started croaking... and its loud!! Do research on sexing them
They are definetly loud and if you want to sleep at night then you don’t want them in your room lol
Is scraping the expanding foam absolutely necessary? What if you pour in dry substrate on it while curating?
You could do that but that won’t work for drylok

I'm currently starting a 55 gallon build. How many can I keep in it?.
Rule of thumb is 1 frog per 10 gallons
how many cans of that foam stuff did u use?
Can’t remember maybe just 1
I want to do something like this for my carnivorous plants. Bugs BEWARE!!!
Do it! I actually love making terrariums too! I thought about posting some videos here on this channel.
Beware bugs lol love it
@@mightymorphingreptiles My carnivorous terrarium is almost done! I have it posted on my channel. Nothing fancy like your builds.
What brand of foam did you use?
I forgot which one I did for this video. But I either got it at Home Depot or lowes in the pond/waterfall section.

What about the bacteria?
