my first time using a pressure cooker and making a beef roast, & I did it following your video! It turned out perfect and tasting how I remember from when I was younger 😊 thank you!
I really appreciate how you explain what you are doing instead of just demonstrating; therefore I am able to multitask without needing to stay glued to the video. I am making this today for the family.
New Subscriber here👋🏼 🙂 I just got my granddaughter & her honey their first InstaPot & he asked for my pot roast recipe. I watched yours & then sent them the link, saying " tell him this girl cooks hers just like your grandma does " 👏🏼😁 They will make it tomorrow. My granddaughter is truly blessed as he loves to cook so she seldom needs to. Anyway, God bless you. I will watch some of your other videos tonight. 🤙🏼
I have used your recipes time and time again over the last few years and they are always a hit. Today was my first time using this recipe and OH MY DAMN! I thought my roast was flavorful before but this was absolutely amazing!! 🤤 I’ve had a pressure cooker for a while now and didn’t really need it until today. Somebody forgot to take the meat out of the fridge and it needed extra time to thaw out🤣. This was a hit!
Okay dinner is just about ready and I cannot wait! I made this 4 days ago and my family said LETS DO THAT AGAIN! So I am just making a few yellow smashers and girl Thank you for a new family favorite 🤩
@@ThatGirlCanCook_ absolutely! I’m new to pressure cooker that I got as a gift years ago and you sweet lady have me now so really to use it. I guess I was a little intimidated but you showed just how easy it is 🫶🏼
I made this roast recipe last night and was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty tasty even though I was missing red wine, bay leaves, and corn starch. I did have a gravy packet so I used that. I will definitely make this again. Thank you for sharing.
I love my instant pot it’s such a time saver, I like to pressure cook mine tender in the instant pot and finish on the stove top because I can look and check on it, taste and control the heat
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been so scared to use my instant pot for anything other than rice but you made this so easy follow and omg it turned out amazing! I can’t wait to try another recipe😋🤗
Family is visiting from Colorado and I'm making this for tonight's dinner. Just putting everything back into the Instant Pot and it already smells heavenly. Thank you!
Thank YOOOU! I used only items I had in my house. Subed the red potatoes for sweet potatoes, made the gravy & some broccoli. Needless to say, dinner was FIRE (in a good way). Thanks for helping me through my first time cooking a roast w/my Instapot!❤
Love your vids!! Been following for some time now. Needed a quick roast recipe for the family coming in Sunday so they can have leftovers and me too after my surgery on Monday! I just really hope they leave me a plate. 😂Your recipes are always so delicious! Thanks 😊
Delish, I split the roast in 2 pieces and used some for enchiladas. I figured if the kitchen was already messy, why not cook up a few meals. Loved the roast and loved your video, you are funny and very entertaining, keep on cooking girl and I will keep on watching and making them recipes!
I made it! It turned out wonderful! Thank you so much! It taste exactly like I was hoping it would and the beef was tender tender. Only thing I did different is you know how that instant pot? It only gives you 10 seconds to adjust the pressure or the amount or time… Well, I’m new to this instant pot thing and I was not fast enough and I guess the default was 35 minutes. But guess what it was done in 35 minutes. Go figure. Might be because I halved the recipe as I have the smaller instant pot. I think it’s about 3 quarts? So I had 1.5 pound chuck roast.
Your Mississippi Pot Roast recipe has become a favorite at my house, so I'm now trying this variation on company coming this week. Also subscribing. Serving fork-tender pot roast over mashed potatoes really is the way to go.
I tell you what. If you only make this beef stew and also use the instant pot for a rice cooker… It is still totally worth it to buy a small instant pot. Just so you can make this beef stew. It is awesome and on the table in about an hour altogether. That is if you get the smaller 3qt instant pot and just use 1.5 pounds of Chuck.
We do farina noodles instead of mashed potatoes. Cook up some egg noodles, drain. Then brown about 1/2 stick butter and about 1/2-3/4 cup farina (uncooked- dry!!!). Brown that add salt/pepper to taste. Then add about 1/2 cup water to soften the farina. Add the noodles and mix. BAM!!!!!
Why I don't have this pot yet lol.. I'll get one soon. She made this so easy to make. I been wanting pot roast for months now. I will make sure I make this ASAP.
Your recipe is similar to my recipe. I sometimes forget to pick up fresh thyme, so I use dried thyme. Dry thyme is better than none. I also use fresh onions and fresh garlic. But I do have the powdered garlic and onions in case of emergency.
For the mashed potatoes on the bottom, did you make that separately, or did you just use the whole potatoes you put in the pressure cooker and just mashed it afterwards?
Hey Tierra! I actually made them separately and I have the recipe for it in another video. If you click this link: ruclips.net/video/CmmgHRKw3_Y/видео.html , it will start on the part with the mashed potatoes recipe!
Your great with cooking I love it but my qoute Hey Y'all you said correct but my other qoute is Don't play wit it love your cooking and you saying my qoutes go girl.
Can’t adjust sauté feature on the 6 qt. Lux. It was the first one I bought. Later I bought the IP Duo Plus 6 qt and you can adjust the sauté feature the way you said.
searing really isn't optional. it provides such an intense boost in flavor it really needs to be done, its the same reason a BBQ steak tastes better than a sous vide steak,
Looks good! Brought my FIRST EVER Instant Pot, from Walmart, today; I got the 7qt one, and honestly, I'm REALLY intimidated to use it😢. That southern accent is cute😂, where in the South are you from? I'm from Harlem in NYC.
Now im OBSSEDED with cilantro does that have any place in this recipe and for someone on a budget where can i get an affordable instant cooker and is it machine washable? Also is it ok to freeze this in to portions for later because im only cooking for 2.
Hunny yes, yes, and YES. LOL. I would keep the cilantro fresh and sprinkle it on top prior to serving it; As for the pressure cooker, I purchased mine in Target for $79.99. Sometimes they even drop to $69.99. I have the Instant Pot Duo and it's a 6 or 7 quart so it's much smaller than their bigger one and much cheaper. I would suggest that you watch the prices as they are always on sale there! I'd check amazon too! As for the freezer suggestion, I would just buy a smaller roast, like a little over 1 to 2 Pounds. If you prefer to buy the larger one and cook it first, remove the veggies and place the roast in a sealable plastic container like rubbermaid or a freezer gallon bag. The veggies will get mushy if you try to warm them up again, but the roast will freeze for up to 3 months and can be warmed up in a small pot with a little bit of beed broth or water to loosen it up! Hope this helps!
Absolutely, but it is not posted! However, You can do the exact same method up until the slow cooker part. Just add it to a dutch oven or a roaster pan with the potatoes, onions, and other veggies and roast at 325DF for 1 hour and 30 minutes covered, and then uncovered for another 2 hours or until tender. You can take the drippings and add them to a sauce pan with 1 Tbsp of cornstarch or flour to thicken it into a gravy. If you try it out, let me know how it goes!
This was good however and a biiiiig however, the cooking time was waaay too long. I had 3 lbs chuck roast and left in 40 min on high pressure and 10 min NR and the meat was almost liquified but still edible. If the roast was cut up into smaller pieces, the cooking time can be reduced by half. Mine was left whole. Also, love the commentary.

100% would not recommend the red wine vinegar.
Lol ok. Thank you.
