I think so too. If you’re going for a regular Switch it probably better to spend the extra $50 to get the OLED. You get a much improved screen, kickstand, and better speakers.
Before steam deck and onexplayer2 then yes. Now those are out, NO. NO Bull crap about primary vs secondary accounts, no classic games behind a subscription service paywall. Horrible eShop lag, joycon issues, can swap SD card to other devices , SD card tied to the console you last used for switch. No formatting everything going from switch lite to switch OLED....like what im going through now. Online mp is free. I No longer care for switch a successor when the competition for me is doing it better and how I WANT it too be done.
Honestly, I hated it even when i didnt want to. I get tired sitting at the desk pc gaming. I generally play pretty intense games and I wanted something I could just lie in bed with and play something more chilled out. I had never owned a switch before or even played one so i just went out and brough one that night. I brought the OLED version with a 500gb SD card. I returned it the morning the store opened. I hated how cheep, clunky and uncomfortable it was. Joy cons are disgusting to use while playing hand held and they are just not accurate. The interface was slow, choppy and painful to use. Ninendo online was a waste of money and didnt have half of what i was expecting ( subscription refund denied even i tried to refund it less than 24 hours after purchasing ). Nintendo online libary of games isnt great and i really hated the NES, SNES and N64 games only used half a screen to maintain the original aspect ratio. The screen isnt that bright, Understantably it is oled but it still seems very dark in some areas. I also struggle to accept a 720p screen in 2023. Its extremely pixelated. General features are lacking, settings are just as basic as do you want left or right. bright or dark. loud or silent. Games i think are way to expensive considering there are many that play at 30fps with terrible draw distances and evident popping. Again im a pc player i dont often experience this. An $80 dollar game on pc gets you 10 times more than a switch game will. I know alot of people love them but i honestly hated the damn thing and i really wanted to love it. Its just old tech which they need to move on from, But they still sell like hot cakes so why would they rush something with new tech. When they release something with more balls I will absolutely get it . I know a lot will probably winge and moan regarding the above but there needs to be some truth here to new buyers as i was also tricked into reading how great it was on comments . Its far from great if im honest. Like i said its just completely outdated now and they are sucking every little cent out the damn thing before releasing something new. Kinda the same way GTA V has been the past few years. For those who love it, great im glad you do. Those who hate it, Will understand the above. Those who havent brought one, Keep the above in mind. Just wait for something new and save your money. Great video though my friend, a great insite and detailed information to those looking to purchase. I didnt like it, but many others absolutely will love it.
my point of view or my opinion at least, i say no not if you own a switch but never take it out and always use it as console instead of a handheld. oled would be a waste of money. i live in the city and nyc is the last place where i wanna take my stuff out in front of the public lol i dont even like showing off my phone so you can imagine my paranoia. i tried like taking my psp or vita out to play in public but do to paranoia i cant play a session. and i am sure there are lots like me. the only reason a new switch would had made sense is if it offered more power like how the ps4 pro did it. that to me is a justification.
Totally understandable, I also think if you have a regular Switch upgrading to an OLED is harder to justify. For someone like me who never owned a Switch before the OLED made more sense to get as it was only $50 more. Also I think paranoia resonates with a lot of people I think depending what area you are in or live. Stay safe out there.

My switch is messing up, I’m going to buy a new one. I’m thinking this is the best bet! 😕😳
I think so too. If you’re going for a regular Switch it probably better to spend the extra $50 to get the OLED. You get a much improved screen, kickstand, and better speakers.
I am gonna get one on in 3 days
Excited for you, hope you enjoy it!
@@faristriesgamingtech I will lol !
Was just playing Zelda Breath of the Wild!
One of my favorite games, there's so much to discover.
I love the switch. The OLED is definitely worth it.
Good video, well presented. i love the switch oled 👍👍
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Why do people keep describing games as "crispy"? It's not deep fried food.
That's so weird, I had some deep fried this morning for breakfast and they didn't taste crispy at all, I want my money back.
They become more powerful when you jailbreak it with a mod chip
Crazy how these will be nostalgic to us millennials like the game boy color is to collectors
So what about the Steam Deck? Why is he pretending that device doesn't exist?
I have both and I can't argue for a Switch over the Deck.
Different strokes for different folks if you enjoy the deck more good for you not everyone is an enthusiast
Damn it's 450$ here in Canada lol probably 500$ after taxes lol
Loved it!
Thank you!
Yes
my point of view or my opinion at least, i say no not if you own a switch but never take it out and always use it as console instead of a handheld. oled would be a waste of money. i live in the city and nyc is the last place where i wanna take my stuff out in front of the public lol i dont even like showing off my phone so you can imagine my paranoia. i tried like taking my psp or vita out to play in public but do to paranoia i cant play a session. and i am sure there are lots like me. the only reason a new switch would had made sense is if it offered more power like how the ps4 pro did it. that to me is a justification.
Nobody take their swtich out on public. LOL you're just asking to get robbed. Only time is at home bathroom or on plane.
The sad thing is you cant mod it
Edit: i have a modded not oled switch but the oled is still a good console 🫡
*Laughs in Steamdeck*
Oof.... I paid a total of $517 CAD for mine...
Dang that’s PS5 or Series X price points
@@faristriesgamingtech Actually PS5 and Series X in CAD is close to $800. I paid $711 CAD for my PS5 back in 2020, but I know the price went up recently so it's probably more now.
if only the switch lite had oled screen with no bezels, it will be the best switch version.
It already has the smallest bezels out of all normals Switch consoles.
@@godmodes yep but an OLED screen would make it better
It needs to be Super AMOLED it has better resolution than OLED and the screen is morr clear and powerful picture a Super AMOLED Nintendo Switch they can call it Nintendo Switch Super or Ultimate....
Also it will be a lot cheaper and energy efficient.....
One thing for sure, Nintendo will milk the Switch for at least a couple more years before they unveil their new gen console...
Keep making videos bro nice content done sub 👍🏻
Oh yeah the Switch will definitely get milked. It sells like hot cakes every month in terms of console sales despite its age. But I can't wait to see what the next Switch system has in store. Thanks for the feedback and Sub!
which is nice, I wouldn't mind a switch lite oled before we move on.
For me i think its not.. just wait for Nintendo switch 2 i made the same mistake by buying Oled Switch this 2023 even tho i have a V2 switch .. so if u are planning to buy an Oled and if u have v1 or v2 dont Just wait for Switch 2. it will be worth to wait..
but Good Review!!
Def Subscribing!
💚
TL:DR sorry. Just wanted to say that every single godamn console ever made is still worth buying today. The switch will be a collector's item in 3023.
switch2 is 2024~2026 :)
I say get a emulation handheld that can play more games than this
Just get the steam deck.
Steam deck isn't all that the odin is def the way to go and OLED over a steam deck.....odin emulates games and it's for the go also.....saw a steam for 400 I'm passing it's really not that great of a system I don't see why people act like it is 😂 people are already selling it I see....easy pass
@@zorenine I guess you couldn't handle the fact that I'm being truthful I'm not wasting money on a steam deck that has no use and an outdated screen I play alotta great ports on OLED even re0 looks fantastic on it even exclusives I get what I pay for no I PAY FOR WHAT I DESERVE BUddy and work hard in my life and earned it I'm happy with what I have in life 😁 not coming at you or anything but there's a difference between being real and ignorant....you really have to mature to that level to understand but I guess it takes time for people like you to understand that your just not at that level well have a good day sir 😊 I'll continue to enjoy what I earned and deserve and will continue to be thankful for what I earned!!!! Good luck take care BU bye then 😁😁😁😁😁
@@williamk7517 "plays in 30 fps"
In my opinion, only a jailbroken one is worth it
Yes ffs
I dont want to watch the whole vid, is it a yes or no
no get a steam deck
I don’t need to watch the video to know it is not worth buying Nintendo Switch as my iPhone is more powerful than this rubbish “console”
I play resident evil 2 original on my blue view 2 it works great gotta mess with the settings that and I have an OLED both are great iPhones are nice too but doesn't mean iPhones dont have problems and watching my stuff on an hd screen on my phone is so nice 😁 I think your thinking rubbish my sweet cute bald headed looking maaaaannn 😋
this is the most stupid thing ive ever seen , not even apple to apple
That oled screen man so nice
Yeah, the colors on it is like eye candy lol
I'll take the version 1 switch. It's jus but differently
