I have a launch model regular Switch, and a Lite. I only use the original model in docked mode, and the Lite for all my handheld gaming, which I do much more often. I love the size and feel of the Lite. I've been thinking about upgrading to the OLED at some point, especially with Zelda coming very soon, but I just can't justify it. I guess I'll wait for whenever the Switch 2 comes out.
Honestly, the only problem for me is the price, so I'll just be switchless and save for the OLED, and will also play on my cousin's OLED when we're together (which is like 2-3 times a year since we live far away from each other)
I have a switch lite I bought last year . I’ve wanted a OLED but I like the smaller all in one build of the lite. I only use my switch occasionally and it’s before bed or traveling . So I guess I can’t justify actually replacing with OLED . I wish Nintendo made a Lite with OLED and slightly larger screen 🤔
I chose the lite because for me i really not missed the OLED features and i think im the person who needs a lite, im a casual gamer and no time to play sometimes because busy at work, no time for dock mode just want to play while resting on my bed. Hello brother im from the PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭
I think they both great systems with their own pros and cons and at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference. I do particularly like the fact that Nintendo have brought out a budget friendly version being the lite so that even people that are strapped for cash can still get to experience all these great games.
I have the switch lite and the oled and I use them both pretty regularly. They both are pretty nice to play on. Idk which one I would choose if I could only have one 😅
Good review thanks. I actually sold my OLED because I never ever used it docked on the TV but I miss the console generally so might just grab a lite as I only ever used my Switch in handheld mode anyway.
Thanks, the Lite is a good console. Mine has held up well since I’ve gotten it, I think it’s a pretty nice handheld. Just try and take care of the joysticks and put in a carrying case when not in use to try and prevent thumb-stick drift.
Since I have the original switch I bought a switch lite for travelling just feels like the better handheld. The OLED is a great system and if you don’t own a switch I highly recommend it.
Nice review, I was planning to buy the Switch lite, but now the OLED is much worth it, since we can replace the joy-con incase the joy-con drift starts acting.
I had a lite and i did really love it but the screen was something that i didn't like as some text i couldn't make out and had to use magnifying glass to make out some of the words. I do wish the switch had options for enlarging text with games on it. Personally i would love to see a new switch combines best aspects of both systems together. Though if get a thumbstick/joycon drift you can easily replace them with lite you have turn it it to get repaired but they just end up giving you a new switch instead. I do look forward see what the next switch be like.
I do love the screen on the OLED, the colors, the brightness, and overall screen is just way better. The OLED also has much better battery life, in case you decide to play a little longer and you can play in docked mode. But the Lite beats it in overall comfort and the buttons feel better on the Lite in my opinion. If I had a Lite only, I would upgrade to OLED but I'm a huge gamer lol. Since you only play casually and in handheld the only upgrades, you'll get really is the screen, which is huge upgrade and the better battery life. So, you would have to look at the pros and cons of the OLED and see if you actually need them. Hope this helps!
Stick drift can happen on the Switch Lite. Since the joy-cons are integrated, you can try to repair it yourself or you'll have to send the whole thing in for repair. Which is probable one of the biggest downsides of the Lite. As of now I haven't had any issues with the joy-cons on my Lite. Hope you found this useful!
My biggest fear in getting a switch lite would be that the screen size seems a bit too small Like my phone is above 6 inches and is nearly all screen so if that one feels almost too small for me i worry that the 5.5 inch is going to be too little aswell
Hi I’ve been having a bit of a struggle with this lately. Been using my new OLED Zelda switch and I love it a lot. But I love Lite so much as in how it feels in the hands, the buttons and how well build it is. I don’t game a lot whenever I am gaming so battery life shouldn’t be a problem for me. Any advice? Do you think I should keep the switch and sell the OLED? I love both but I do like my lite. And the OLED
Hey, the Lite feels really good in the hands and I love how the buttons feel on it, at its price point it's a bargain. Since you have both consoles your able to see firsthand of what you like and don't like about the Lite and OLED which is good. I think keeping the OLED is the safest bet because you get the full-fledged switch experience like the nice display, docked mode, and the ability to play in handheld mode. Plus, you have the new Zelda Switch which I wish I had lol. Hope this helps!
@@faristriesgamingtech thanks for coming back to me. Yes I suppose you get the best of both worlds with the OLED. Going to start my library this weekend as I have 96 games and not all of them completed
I really don't have many complaints about the lite so far. I could fuss about the pretty much useless internal storage. It's way too small and almost insulting. The battery life is pretty bad in my opinion. When playing something like Diablo 3 it's just not great. A couple of hours and I have to charge. It's a week old so it's not degraded. It's a really good device though. It's well worth 200 dollars. I'm very satisfied because I'm a pc gamer. I just don't use a tv to play anything really. I don't really use a tv at all other than background noise. That's why I'm still trying to convince myself to upgrade to a OLED Switch. I'm thinking about taking the Lite back and paying the extra 150
Well with the OLED even if you don't plan to dock it, you do get much more like the bigger screen with better colors and a better battery life for longer play sessions. Also, you can get 3rd party Joy-Cons for it if you want, which is cool. The Lite is a good device like you said but it does have its compromises. If there's a retail store that has a demo OLED Switch, I would check it out and see it in person to see if you really like it. Hopefully this helps!
I hear you, the screen on the Lite is much smaller and less bright. I would go to a retail store and see the demo versions and see how they look in person to make a decision. Hopefully, this helps.
@@faristriesgamingtech i did as you told me and the lite is really light and sturdy, but the screen is way small for me, I'll think will go with the oled soon
I have a question. If I have a lite and my friend has an oled, can we still play games together but from our respective switch. For example, for psp as long as we both have the psp then we both can play the game together either for battle mode or as a team. So is it the same as switch? I hope you understand my question and thank you in advance 🙏🏼
@@faristriesgamingtechokay thank you!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m actually considering either to get a nintendo switch or not bcs I wanna play with my friend but according to my budget I can only get a Lite. So I was worried that if I get a different type of Switch as opposed to my friend (who gets an OLED) I can’t play game with them.
You can't go wrong with either if you're only going to play in handheld mode. I will say the Lite is more comfortable in the hands and the buttons feel better in my opinion and with the OLED you can buy 3rd party joy cons like the Split Pad Compact which feel better than original joy cons. Hope this helps!
lmaoo there is no competition or question that OLED Switch is the way to go... Switch Lite is obsolete and doesn't dock to TV, and buttons are mushy AF.
I dont know what to choose. I wont be gaming a lot and i think i want to play only handheld. I really like the oled screen and it would be so good for zelda and other games. Im afraid it wont be comfortable for me to hold. The lite surely will be more comfortable but i dont like the screen. That's Saints Row The Third and runs well on the Switch.
Can you link to where you got your lite case?
Of course, it should be in the description.
