    One question: How did you set up the mirror in the layers of the plate object? Or am I missing something?

    • @YouAndMeAcademy
      @YouAndMeAcademy  4 месяца назад

      If I am understanding your question correctly, I simply have the mirror on its own layer and then I just turned on the render visibility in the layer panel.

    This was so awesome and super helpful. Thanks for sharing this! Any guesses as to why Redshift is unbearably slow on my machine? I have a 2080 and 8700k, both enabled, hybrid render disabled, but very simple scenes (1 light, 1 object, 1 material) slow C4D down to a crawl. Other render engines like Keyshot or Cycles or Octane don't present these issues.

      Yes, I am still having the same issues here. I recently spoke with Maxon and they told me to try to update all my drivers. Video card and pc. I have not done it yet because I am in the middle of jobs, but I will let you know how it works out. If you have any luck please let us know.
      Thanks for the support! 🤜🤛

      I saw a senior redshift developer mention this issue in one of the redshift forums..It’s due to a gpu driver issue causing memory leak. I can’t remember the version number off the top of my head but nvidia hasn’t solved it yet, therefore the short-term solution is rolling back the drivers.
      Note: this issue occurs only when using other intensive applications in the background while working in c4d.

      Yeah that is pretty lame, I had major problems with my machine and just said F it and upgraded to a new computer and now all is well, but should not be necessary. Thank you for you insight!

    Thanks for this. 17:50 How can one turn off the visibility of the HDRI image so it doesn't show in the bg/render?

    • @YouAndMeAcademy
      @YouAndMeAcademy  Год назад

      Hi Jay. Sure this is how you do it.
      1. Select your Dome Light
      2. Select the Object Tab
      3. Under Environment Uncheck Background
      You do have options to adjust finer controls in the Details Tab, but these steps are the most direct way. Thank you for your support!

    14:18 paste what into the path ?

    • @YouAndMeAcademy
      @YouAndMeAcademy  Год назад +1

      This is the path to a texture that I had already copied to save time. It’s nothing more than just the path to where the texture is located.

    How can i make the mirror in redshift ? , like how u added it to ur scene

    • @YouAndMeAcademy
      @YouAndMeAcademy  2 года назад +1

      The easiest way is under the Redshift material select the preset Aluminum. Then turn the roughness to 0 under Reflection. Thank you for your support 🖤

    I’m coming from the shader graph…Do you know if there’s still limitations with the c4d one with RS? Everyone was still using shader graph for a long time as apparently some nodes were missing? Also, is clicking the little plus at the top the fastest way to add nodes? Seems a shortcut search would be much more fluid but can’t seem to find a way? Shift+C doesn’t work…😓

    • @glacies1356
      @glacies1356 2 года назад +2

      I do not think there are any limitations to the new Shadergraph. Some nodes have been renamed though. To access it quickly try just "C" on your keyboard ;)

      @@glacies1356 wow thanks! I was doing shift-C thinking that would be it! It’s a much nicer interface than shadergraph but just haven’t used the native one at all!
      You’re a legend thanks! 🙏

      Hey Maw, to answer your questions...
      1. Yeah C is the new Shift+C for some reason. Go figure.
      2.There are still some limitations to the nodes vs xpresso though.
      C4DShader won't work in the new node system yet.
      3. previews (which you can turn off) slows down your render.
      4. Panels - which you have to manually change yourself.
      5. no more presets in the material itself (because nodes dont support presets).
      6. With nodes can't connect your geo into it (with xpresso you can link parameters from geo/nulls into your shader graph).
      7. Right now a bug they need to fix, you cant do the C pick a node and press enter, have to double click to select it.

    What about seeing the object in the dome light??????

    • @YouAndMeAcademy

      Hi Rick, can you please explain a little more what your question is?

    • @MORTONRICK
      @MORTONRICK 2 года назад +1

      @@YouAndMeAcademy When I use a sky object with an hdri, I want the hdri to light the scene. I don't want to see the hdri. I would use a composite tag to eliminate the actual hdri image. I thought you would explain how that works in redshift.

    • @YouAndMeAcademy
      @YouAndMeAcademy  2 года назад

      @@MORTONRICK Hi Rick, sure thing that is no problem. Under your Dome Light click the General Tab. Then go to the Environment drop down and Uncheck Enable Background. That will turn off the HDIRs visibility to camera.
