Upon reflection I'd want to add to my review that I do feel the episode was far too short, it ended fairly abruptly without much of a wrap up for the characters and the aftermath of the events of the episode. Outside of that I still feel this is an outstanding show!
I felt like they should have had an OT character walking down the ramp of the Blockade Runner once it landed. Not sure that it would be Luke since he and Jod would obviously have felt each other's presence, but maybe Leia or Mothma.
It ends abruptly, but all the character arcs were wrapped up. Wim and Wendle, Fern and Farah, KB, and Neel all grew and they all contributed to the “win” in the end. Jod’s story is still ongoing. Do we really need to know what happens next in this episode? Leave it for future stories
I was a little disappointed with the sudden end like at the very least make the credit artwork what happened after with the new Republic knowing about at attin I hope to see it in a future project
Seeing the republic come in with the B wings aswell was a good scene. Amazing acting from Jude law and all the parents kids. Breathe of fresh air after watching the skeleton crew all the way through solid 8-10 for what it is.
I believe the creators have ideas for a 2nd season; where the kids are 3-5 years older from when they first filmed the show. So I would like to see a story line where Wim gets a msg that his mom is alive and is seeking help. So he steals the ship along with his friends and meet up with Jod( who escaped the new republic xwing from season 1)
Jod’s would-be Jedi mentor could’ve been a character who, until a few weeks ago was included on the cast list on IMDB and Google, who was named Jedi Ninaa Nawood, supposedly to be played by Haley Webb, before they took it down. I wonder if it was legit but maybe her scenes got cut. 🤷🏻♀️
I enjoyed that ending. It was not grand scale, but it was enough, and it was truly a satisfying ending. I think Jude Law really helped carry this series, very good acting all around. On the one hand, yes, he was charismatic, and you fell for him. You can't help it. But on the other, very devious, very untrustworthy, scheming. But at the same time, you kind of feel for him. I like how the series doesn't delve too deep into his character, but enough to carry the story along, and why he's acting the way he does. And yeah, you do feel some sort of sympathy for him. It's understandable why he does not see the world in rose-colored glasses, which works well with the children, who, in general, are full of optimism, fun, adventure, excitement. To see the dynamics between Jod and the kids works really well in this series. The visual effects were generally fantastic. Great story arcs, and the kids were also stars of the show. They were likable, fun, relatable to when we ourselves were kids, and the show really delves deep into 1980s tropes from movies like Goonies, ET, and even parts of Encounters of the Third Kind. Thanks for sharing your reaction, review, and analysis of this episode, Simon! I can't wait to see your review of the series as a whole!
I’d love to see a at least a little bit of story with these characters in the future. I’d love to see the parents doing working class jobs, and loving it! It seemed there was underlying knock at capitalism throughout this series. I bet Disney loves that.😂
I think Jod truly isn't a bad guy. He's hurt. I mean look how many times he could have killed someone and he didn't. He only killed Brutus because he flat out told him he was murdering him regardless of what happened. Jod had so many opportunities to hurt those kids or their parents and he didn't. He also looked incredibly upset when KB was crashing and he was watching that pirate ship go down. To me it seems like he truly understands what he did and how horrible it is and its probably not what his master would have wanted. He needs to meet Ezra. Their stories are the same except that Kannan had years with Ezra and there was the whole Ghost crew and his other friends to stand with him when Kannan fell.
Absolutely love this show. Best since Mandalorian season 2. Love the characters. I think it's ratings were hurt by the Acolyte controversy and people got turned off to Disney Star Wars. If Skeleton Crew aired before Acolyte I'm sure it's ratings would have been higher. I hope word of mouth gets this show it's due. My only criticism is that the episodes needed to be longer or there needed to be 12 episodes instead of 8.
Hey Simon, I'm unfortunately going to bring the mood down a bit but I put off thinking about this all show and now that it's over, I just need to get my thoughts out of my head. Does it actually matter that Skeleton Crew is good? I absolutely love this show, I think it's characters are great, the genre they picked is amazing, the acting and directing is all fantastic and the show looks gorgeous. But does any of this actually matter when *this* is the show they choose to get right? Not the show about Obi-wan Kenobi, not the show about Boba Fett, not the show about Ahsoka Tano (tho I don't think that one's as bad as they say) and not the show about The Sith. The show about Pirates. Instead of getting those shows right, they've only gotten right the aforementioned pirate show, a show about a Mandalorian (not even Boba Fett lol a new one) and a spy show featuring the Co-Lead of a Disney original spinoff movie. Whilst I'm absolutely for making new shows in new genres with new characters, what is the point of getting them right when they can't get right the ones that feature the main characters of star wars? The shows that people turn up to see are subpar quality, which subsequently turns them away from the shows of actual good quality, because why should they watch a show about completely new characters when they couldn't get the ones with the OG characters right in the first place? I'm going to cut this hear because mu rants long enough already, but I just want to reiterate I love Skeleton Crew, its fantastic, and it's my love of this show thats making me feel this. As because Disney allowed The Acolyte to be made, its basically killed all hope of a Season 2 for this fantastic show.
Well you can look at it this way, Star Wars won't survive purely on OG characters, it sucks that some shows have been disappointing but getting any show right is a good thing. New characters need to lead the way, just like when Star Trek evolved with TNG. Celebrate them doing something right because it shows it can be done and there is hope for the future.

They wanted to leave it open for a season 2. The show was great.

@@DragonGamingDB You don't need another cameo. It's good as it is.
