With the ignition, I assume Jod is simply winging this whole thing, thinking on his feet. He doesn't know what these people are going to do, and when they say "THANKS FOR COMING!" he changes his tact on the spot to a more charming one, going along with the whole idea he is the Emissary from the Republic.
I agree with Major Dad. It's a sweet ending. Reminds me of the kids movie endings in the 80s that just end with the kid(s) triumphant with little to no epilogue. Quick happy endings. Like Goonies, Neverending Story, E.T., Flight of The Navigator, The Last Starfighter etc. I really enjoyed this entire series. And it's the first Star Wars series since The Mandalorian that my little nephew (7) excitedly watched every episode with me, jumping up and down and loving every moment of it.
Jod had no problem killing, or trying to kill pirates, but everyone else he tried to avoid. He didn't actively try to kill Kh'ymm, or the kids & their parents. The one time he supposedly shot at Kh'ymm it was in the opposite direction of their flight, and the other times at their puter.
Nice reaction Sonny & Major Dad! 😊I really enjoy the positivity you always have about Stars Wars in general and I agree with you...let's just enjoy the ride and see where the new Star Wars shows & movies take us. 🥰
This show was so good! Thanks for the great reactions all seasons long, always a pleasure to see Major Dad along for the ride as well. Loved how well they payed off all the little stuff back from the earlier episodes. I'm glad we got enough of Jod's backstory to be satisfied while still leaving plenty to chew on. I think Jod saw at the end that his hopelessness was maybe not quite justified, and that sometimes the good guys do come to the rescue when the kids need them. I hope we get more of him.
Watching this I realized only just now that when the pirate ship starts to fire after they arrived, they weren't randomly shooting around but intentionally destroying all the vehicles. Of course, those weren't working anymore but they didn't know that.
Great to have watched this with you 2. Yes, there is a feeling of, WE NEED MORE. Jon Watts, Chris Ford, and Jude Law said that We'd be asking, "What's next?" Plus, originally, Skeleton Crew was proposed years ago as a motion picture. They didn't know how elaborate The Mandoverse was going to become, at the time. It was always meant to take place after Return Of The Jedi, so, it easily fits in to the action, intrigue, and drama of Favreau and Filoni's pocket universe. Jon Favreau loved these kids and their home planet so much, he wrote them in to Season 4 of The Mandalorian. Now that Season 4 seems unlikely, We may see them appear in, The Mandalorian & Grogu motion picture. Jod Na Nawood has become one of the best antiheroes in Star Wars. It has been confirmed that there was a flashback sequence, showing a Jedi Master who was instructing Jod, before The Empire showed up. Those scenes may be being saved for future storytelling. Knowing Jod's tragic, precarious, rather hopeless past, seeing him situated in an era featuring The New Republic and the return of The Jedi, Force-users, and The Church Of The Force, I would LOVE to see him encounter Luke, Ahsoka, Ezra, Grogu, and Sabine, and battle members of The Acolytes Of The Beyond, who would be quite a disordered adversary for him. May The Force Be With You, Sonny and Major Dad. P. S. How SWEET were those New Republic fighters in action?! Getting the job done. 😊
I'd be ok with them going either way on renewing this show too. I loved the story and the kids did a good job. Looking forward to seeing marjor dad back with andor season 2 as well
Love this show so much. I hope word of mouth improves the ratings so we get more of these characters. If only this show had premiered before Acolyte. Acolyte turned a lot of people off on Disney plus Star Wars. Skeleton Crew deserves better.
Unfortunately, though, Skeleton Crew was finished first and scheduled to release in late Fall 2023, due to the consecutive Writers and Actors Strikes, its release got pushed back to December 2024...leaving the dreadful, The Acolyte to release Summer 2024. I understand Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are rather ticked off/perturbed by these developments. Jon Favreau wrote these characters in to Season 4 of The Mandalorian...maybe some of that material will figure in, The Mandalorian & Grogu movie.
I really liked the show. Sadly no praise of the show gets my friends who are Star Wars fans to ever watch something Star Wars again if it comes from Disney. And I can see why. It did not feel good to me consuming a Disney product. Feels like turning to the dark side 😅
@IronAussie1 You're ruining your own enjoyment because of a couple of unfortunate stumbles, which certainly aren't exclusive to Disney. They have also produced some of the best Star Wars we've ever seen, which means you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
@@RealBLAlley I know that. That's why I watched it even while having a bad feeling about watching it. As I said I really liked the show. Still leaves a bad aftertaste.
There was a flashback scene filmed with an actress who trained hard to do lightsabre fighting. But they cut it. She was Jod's Master, Her name was Narnarwood so seems like he didn't have a name
With the positive reception of the show, we could get another season. The show creator has said there definitely is more of the story to tell after the big ending. And they'd be on board to doing it.
Even if it takes 5 years to get around to it. I think a follow up with the kids being college age would be great and could serve as a companion to the Heir to the Empire theatrical release.
@ I don't think there is need for a time jump. There are a ton of repercussions coming with a planet full of credits now revealed to the galaxy. Tentatively under control of the Republic, but with a bunch of factions that would love to take it. For all we know this is how the first order gets financed. Not saying series with the kids older would be bad. I love the actors and actress portraying them, it would be fun to see them continue as they are older in the Star Wars Universe.
I heard that the viewership for Skeleton crew has gone up so anyway by the end more folks would have watch it.WE will know more from the nielsen ratings for the other episodes when they come out.
We don't know if it bombed yet since other episodes are coming out and I heard that the viewership for Skeleton crew has gone up like agatha, so anyway by the end more folks would have watch it.WE will know more from the nielsen ratings for the other episodes when they come out.
Nevarro in Mando Season 3 - Sorry, but the obvious Imperial Remnant mole said you're not a member world, so sorry, but we can't help you with your pirate problem. At Attin here - You're an Old Republic mint world that has been out-of-touch with the rest of the galaxy for centuries, to the point that most regard you as a pirate myth, but we're gonna send 8 X-Wings, 2 B-Wings, and a CR90 Corvette. That being said, it's nice to see the New Republic actually do something for once.
I personally would like to see a second season, since this ending was sort of open ended. I think the low viewership can be placed on fans who got turned off by a series that had children as the protagonists… which is their loss. This was a well done show, well acted especially by the kids, and good storytelling. I’m looking for word of mouth to get those fans to at least give this series a chance.

It was a great season. Loved the new characters. Just a very good star wars story.

Don't believe everything you hear or read. The hate channels love to fabricate poor viewership numbers to validate their hate.

Yeah I think Disney will make a decision based more on the good reception, rather than the supposed lack of viewership.

@@cliveklg7739 I'm sure the time jump would be small, just enough to cover the kids' growth.
@ again I doubt it will be necessary given they are likely to get the go ahead right away. They kids aren't going to grow that much.
I’m sure hoping for a season 2.
Great show. Season 2 or no, these kids need to show up in more Star Wars. They killed it!
Loved this series, but like you, I'm fairly easy to please. Looking forward to your Andor reactions--I've missed a certain EMO droid.

beyond a pirate myth. No doubt, confirming the location of the last mint of actually valuable credits would make it a top priority to secure.
sure, it's a good thing At Attin got opened during the New Republic era, but Thrawn's forces might invade the planet
Kidcam2104 quote-
The ratings were only low for the FIRST TWO episodes and then they went up.
Season 2 could be them all grown up.
We prob won’t get that till after mando raps up

Can you two PLEASE do Agatha? I started following you during/because of WandaVision ❤
Ah dang, we already watched it and absolutely loved it!
Anyone notice that the droids severing The Emissary sound a lot like Crosshair from the Bad Batch .. 🤣
Good droids follow orders...
