Just to be clear: That information is only specific to the US American Porsche market. In Europe, the only 718 you can configure to order are GT4 RS and Spyder RS. Everything else is gone. So there is no sign that the EV Cayman/Boxster is going to be delayed.

The 2025 MY updates are really lame. Make some changes on the website and charge $1000s more. With the 2025 911 they gave the base 911 the 2024 GTS turbos to boost the HP a little - with the 718 they couldn’t even be bothered to do something similar. I guess the 718 is the red headed step child of Porsche.

Fewer people want the all-electric variant. With the dawn of an all-electric 718, the passion of the road and driving pleasure takes a dramatic downward spiral. It's not gone ....it's just a shitty step "forward".
With the EV’s reaching a saturation point, Porsche’s decision to go all electric with the Boxster/Cayman and the dumbest move the Macan. These moves are not smart!?!

Fewer? I think there were never that many to begin with.. Car enthousiasts who drive cars like a Porsche Cayman/Boxster are not gonna buy a electric veriant.. There's reasons why even Tesla keeps delaying a new roadster.. There's just no real market for it.. Porsche only does this because EU regulations force them to.. They make their real money on the 911 and SUV's etc, so it makes sense to "sacrifice" their cheapest model..
Interesting. I'm holding OFF my purchase because I want the electric variant. ICE cars will be a PITA to own in just a few years. More and more gas stations will close down or convert to electric, making it difficult to fill your tank. At least here in Europe. ICE cars is dying. For better or worse. Buying one now is not really a great future proof purchase.

In Canada, I ordered in March 2022 and I'm getting my 718 next month (July 2024) so I wonder who in Canada is going to get the 2025...does who ordered late 2022 or early 2023 ?

Yes Guards red is still a standard color but will transition at some point to the PTS list so it still will be available!
I’m guessing there will be 718 PTS colors.
Sales tanked with the 718 already going to 4-cilinders, so it's not hard to imagine how low the sales of a 100% electric Boxster/Cayman are gonna be.. There's not that many people wanting to buy and drive a socalled environmental consious sportscar I think.. Who's gonna buy a sportscar with zero sound and feel?!? It will probably be crazy fast in a straight line but also be much heavier and full of tech like fake sound etc to fool us into some "experience".. Just enjoy what we have now for as long as we can I guess, forget about the "future"..
Yup nobody wants the electric junk. They're not even more "environmentally friendly" lmao. Their sales will plummet big and they'll be back to ICE in no time

Not against EV sports car. But they should just axe the EV Cayman, no sane people will buy a porsche EV after the Taycan.
I have had 24 cars in my family so far and the Taycan is the best or 2nd best (E92 M3) car I ever had. I would definitely buy the Taycan again. Have had it 4 years, dont care about depreciation as I will keep it for at least 4 more years.
@@peterhammer6915 So you're the 1% of people in US who doesn't care about money or working at Porsche. My next door neighbor has a taycan and his car spend time in the dealer than his garage in the time of his owner ship. you can look it up on Porsche's forum to see how many unhappy customers, no one should just take my word for it.
@@jase298hkhk I live in Finland. 3 friends of mine also have a Taycan, only one of us had the heater issue. No other issues apart from some software bugs, which are very rare and always go away when you restart the car.
You have wrong information, some trolls in the internet spread wrong data.
Another good example is the B58/S58 engine platform. On youtube say Bmw engines are shit when this platform is the most reliable in the car market.
I follow Taycanforum daily and also make posts.
