At first I was all "does she have pants on?" and then I saw the shorts. Thanks to you, I pulled out the sewing machine, took some scrap material and made a top to see if I could with your hints. I did, so I'm going to make it with real material!! I've never used binding for a neckline before and it was SO EASY! Please do more construction videos!!!
All marvelous, but my favorite is the last outfit; it looks especially great on you. It's nice to have a family that appreciates your work. It tickled me that Collin had it all planned exactly how he would accessorize the shorts.
Hello. I've never ever written a comment, but you have Inspired me so much I just want you to know. I have binge watched most of your videos and I wish there were more. I started sewing for the first time just 2 months ago and I can't wait until I can sew as well as you. Please don't go anywhere, keep these amazing videos coming.
Who would make comments about the noise of your shoes? Some people have nothing better to do than complain about the minutia! Loved all your makes and I could see the stitching on that last skirt! Darling and creative! Kudos to your family for being such willing models!
Love your videos. Don't let comments change you too much. There are so many opinions out there and what one likes another one won't so keep being your sweet self.
Love the kimono outfit, and love the tie die shirt... Well, I love all of them. Collins shorts are dynamite... So great that he loves them. Brad is the new star of the fashion show. Love his shirt, and his modelling. Oh, gosh. So many great makes. Inspiring.
Love the May makes! My youngest is just a few years older (23 this Sept.) and is Colin also. 😊 handsome young man there Mom! He was so sweet being involved with the sewing. My Colin is also really sweet and supportive. Our children are such a blessing. I miss the homeschooling days. They grow up so, so fast. I can hardly believe it. God bless and keep your precious family.
I called my husband over to see Brad's shirt ...we both liked it on him so much. Also liked everything you wore...kudos on your belt! Thanks Colin for modeling those cool shorts.
Saving the best for last! The color block dress is a stunner, I'm glad you gave detail with the leaf embroidery stitch, nice touch! Always enjoy your videos and I actually like the sound of your shoes, wish others didn't mind.
Thank you for showing tell! And for sharing your handsome men with us! I'm so happy to see you have such a beautiful and wonderful family! I also really appreciate when you show us how to set in sleeves flat! Thank you so much!
Just when I think you have outdone yourself on the videos, you surpass that thought with another outstanding video! The kwik sew black dress is killer, that is one chic dress! The tunic with leggings is totally my style, as an older woman I'm all for comfort. The kimono is perfect for church.
I love the belted waist on you- it highlights your waist. Sometimes the drape of some fabrics over a fuller bust makes it look like the person has a thicker waist. You have a very small waist so the cinching in looks beautiful. You also have the perfect legs for shorter lengths but all lengths look great on you.
Thank you Viv for inspiring me yet again. Your makes are wonderful and I always look forward to your videos. I was rolling my eyes that someone has commented about you clip clopping on your floor. If I were you, I would whip that rug away and tap dance through your next video !😂❤
The shirt you made for your husband looks so classy on him and fit his body great. Also your son looks really cool in his shorts. My favorite on you is the NL dress in the fancy ITY knit with white trim. The fabric, print and cut are great! Looking forward to your next months makes. :)
Love your makes, tips and comments. Yes, yes, yes to the belted S1810 dress! It looks great on you and shows your shape. Might look mumu-ish without the belt. The guys are great models.
Love watching your channel and thanks bunches for spending the time sewing and giving us great advise. It’s also a huge benefit to see how they actually look after sewn. After seeing all your knit projects I want to try sewing with it, just intimidating. 😬 Again thanks bunches❤️❤️❤️
You can do it, GG! Knit projects are fun because...they’re usually quick, they have a forgiving fit, you can insert the sleeves flat, you’ll build your confidence! The trick is finding a good weight knit - at least for starting out - so that you maintain control over it. Call on me if you need help!👍
So I have become addicted to sewing videos on RUclips - mostly thanks to you and I have to say, you need to have your own DIY channel because your natural freshness is so fun to watch. You are such a natural in front of your home made phone videos that I think you can charm an audience nationwide. Keep posting so we can enjoy your life..
Darling outfits! Thanks for working so hard on them. I really appreciate your vids. You are so blessed to have those 2 handsome men helping you also lol. I'm always amazed how you take simple patterns and hit it out of the park with your fabulous choice of fabrics! Feel free to keep doing sewing tutorials, too😊
No wonder you seem such a happy person with two men like that in your life :) Beautiful makes, thanks for sharing! Not a huge fan of Simplicity 8310, but the rest are beautiful!
Another winner! I love your family and the support they give you. I loved all your projects, but the last one with the skirt is wonderful. Very creative, lady. you are talented. Thanks again for a great video.
Great makes! Your guys are very sweet and supportive. Loved the last outfit the best. Sewing in the sleeves flat is a great tip, I do that as well. I also find that constructing that way means less pulling on the underarm seam...the long seam takes the stress. I primarily sew athletic items in Lycra/spandex.
Love this video. It does gives us lots of ideas and I love to see you talk lightly about your makes. I don’t want my sewing to take over my life and I think you are a great example of how to enjoy it, even when it doesn’t go our way.
Love all the May made makes. Love hearing the changes you made to make the patterns fit your tastes and that of your husband and children, and they worked.
Thanks for another great video. I have to say the last three outfits were so so flattering on you. Especially the last one, the brown skirt with the little jacket. Wow! You looked A-amazing!!!
Awesome job this lazy month! You are the best Viv, so happy and bubbly all the time. Thank you for sharing your talent and family with us. I had never seen Colin what a handsome young man. I see a lot of you and Brad in him. Both personalities for sure.
You are delightful :-) I think the fit on all of your outfits are perfect. My fave is the black dress and the block skirt and kimono at the end. I can't believe you put the throw rug down for the grumpys lol. Thank you for sharing your makes xx
Love Brad's shirt the fabric is lovely and really suits him. I think it great that your family support you with your channel. Love all your makes. So kind of you for sharing your patterns, makes and sewing tips. You are a lovely kind lady, thank you :)
Hi Vivmom. Love all your looks but the last one, I love especially. You inspire me. Shout out to your family for supporting you by modeling your makes.
Thank you for you and your family modeling the items you make. It gives me encouragement and thoughts about what i'd like to make. So much easier when you see what someone has made and is wearing it. You are so great!!! And i think the sound of your floors when you walk on them is cool, it reminds me of an old house. Love creaking floors. 👍😊
I love how your family supports you! What troopers! Love Colin's fashion ideas to complete his look. He's adorable! The black dress looks so good on you! It may have been a PIA but it looks great. I think it was my favorite in this video.
I love the last outfit. Wish I could wear that skirt but I am “blessed” with saddle bags which means full skirts or a-lines. I know you can color block on a full skirt but it just wouldn’t have the same clean look. To bad the black dress was such a bogger. It was so cute. Always enjoy your videos. Enjoy the weather.
I love all of your makes! I will be making that tye dye top also the tank and kimono for sure. Thank you for letting us follow your creative makes, please keep them coming.
You are so inspiring💝💕 keep up the great work. Btw you and your whole family are gorgeous! Like the Ken and Barbie with kids in normal life. I love that they support your sewing too. My family has always supported mine as well but I've never really tried to sew for the grown men so I've watched you with your husband now several times and now I've decided to show my husband what there is to offer men real manly men not just PJ's and such.
debrakwilliams48 I totally agree... and Vivmom worked that runway! LOL... Haters are always going to hate, no matter what and I would not give them power to dictate my plate-form. They can always go to another channel. 👏🏼🙏🏽💪🏼👍🏽
I don't know if I'm the only one, but I did suggest a little rug for her show and tells, and hate had nothing to do with it. I am subscribed to this channel, and have posted Vivmom's link to my facebook for all my friends because I love her videos! I am 68, and maybe it's partly my age, but I found the extra noise to be a distraction from hearing what Vivmom was saying. I was very happy to see she took up the suggestion, whether from me or someone else, and added the little rug. I know it's a little more effort for her, but I GREATLY appreciated it! Thanks, Vivmom! I want to share a photo with you, but can't find your facebook to do that, but I thought I wrote to you on a facebook page previously?
Everything you made is fantastic. Of course, I love Your Son's shorts because they look great. I knew they would in that fabric! It possibly helps that I live approximately 30 minutes from Del Mar. (I lived all my life (57 yrs.) in same area & I have never been to the races.) Oh, my favorite on you is the black dress. I always like the trims on the bottom of your dresses. Well, I just like everything as usual! God Bless.
Your husband is a crack up! LOVE THE TIE DYE! also you look fantastic in the color block skirt and kimono. Your channel is becoming my fast favorite. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your sewing for us!
I never made comment on the sound of your shoes in the video but I want u 2 know I so appreciate your moving carpet in when you do your lovely "show and tells". FYI A good audio isn't easy to achieve so I don't expect it. You see, your shoes, the acoustics of the room and the audio quality of your equipment all come into play. The more advanced and expensive equipment will have a better balance between highs and lows. The equiptment for nonprofessionals picks up and amplifies the low end, thats why your shoes sound much louder I the recording than in person.
I love so many of the things you made in this video. Your special littles touches are so good. And your videos are sooo entertaining. I always look for them on you tube. I am not sure how I came across you videos but I sure am glad I did. Keep up the good sewing. Sharon
You have been sewing like crazy! Your two wonderful men are looking GREAT thanks to you! Love the shirts!🤗..Loved your talented extras you do with the outfits ..so beautiful! Loved everything and you should be proud for working so hard having the fun of making them. I'm working on a nightgown using searsucker fabric for a nice summer gown.... It's the pattern that you love so much too... Simplicity 3 5 7 3... I'm having fun doing the sleeveless one without the ruffle View A ....( Didn't have enough fabric for ruffle😱)...I'm making my own bias tape and everything is turning out great.🤗 What a joy to see you on here today...thanks!👏❤️😺
Hi Viv, Love the tye dye top, And the black dress, the last out fit with the kimono really smart:) And don’t forget the men’s outfits very cool😀 Thank you for sharing Can’t wait for the next fashion show🌸 KimX
I’m always impressed with the amount of items you complete in a month....it’s amazing!! Loved all the makes but, my favorite was the very last outfit.....so very chic and it’s darling on you💜! You are such a sweetheart Viv and always a joy to watch!!
I think it's great that your cute and handsome family supports you and models for you!! Love your makes! There for a moment I thought kwik sew was not doing well with the pattern but redeemed themselves with the cute tie dye and the last outfit. They look very expensive and not homemade at all! Bravo!!💃 So exciting and rewarding!! Great job, and you are amazing for all you do. ❤
Love your May makes, Brads shirt and Colons shorts are really nice and fit them perfect. , I think your little blue knit dress with flower pocket, tye dyed out fit and Kimono outfit are my favorites on you. Thanks for the tips and inspiration.
Love those makes!! We've had our Grand kids at our house for a week, so tonight I'm back behind my sewing machine. Your video gives me ALL kinds of inspiration. Thanks
I ma a new sewist, and watching your Makes and Construction videos is like attending a Master Class. I appreciate your enthusiasm, your free-thought narrative, your real life modeling of the pieces and fabrics, and you frank discussion of how the patterns. I gives me hope to know that sometimes the pattern is just bad, and it's not necessarily my fault! It's like I'm chilling and chatting in line for the cutting table at Joann's, with someone who really knows her stuff, but is still willing to coach a newbie. I super appreciate you! Thank you!
Love your new "runway" rug, it softens the sound of your footsteps so we can hear what you have to say better! Thanks for that. What can I say - everything you do is great.
Shoes doesn't or shouldn't bother anyone..People are always looking for something to gripe about! Finding fault isn't the answer..Doing a good job, keep it up
Oh my, each month keeps getting better and better. Loved last look. Kimono is my style of dressing. Two genius things you did that I liked: 1) dark band around bottom of skirt (unexpected) and 2) top of skirt same material as tank (gives the look of a dress rather than two pieces under there.) Fyi I am now finally caught up with ALL of your videos. Enjoyed going through them all. Especially fun to see fabric from earlier video show up in a later video as a completed garment. Btw Collin is quite adorable. And the party dress on beautiful daughter is stunning.
I will echo what Nancy said below. Kudos to your hubby and son. Those makes were great! And that fabric for the shorts looked perfect.☀️ Hahaha! Whoever made comments on the shoes on wood floor I’m absolutely sure they don’t have or like wood floors...🤔😆 I will just comment personally here about the long dress with the long front tie. I was noticing as you untied it to show different tying options... I think the longer tie ‘tails’ blend in more with the longer dress, so that (to me) it looked like it all flowed together better, than perhaps it would with a short tie, since it’s a long dress. Just my thoughts. And whether or not you end up liking the dress, I think it’s beautiful and love the fabric. And that last 3-piece outfit with the color block skirt... A W E S O M E! Wow! Did I love that? I did!🤩 I could see the same pattern made from more holiday-ish fabric for a beautiful Christmas outfit! I’m afraid I no longer do skirts, but I’d definitely do that with some pants. Everything was an A+. Loved it all, and the video! Thanks! And thank you, LORD, for the beautiful sunshine!☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🌷
I don't usually thing this - but I really love them all this month! Especially that tie-dyed knit top. The LBD is so cute and flattering - I just ran across a similar pattern about half an hour ago - planning things out, etc. I didn't think I'd like it but yours looks so good that I might try it! You have so many great tips - cutting at the lengthen/shorten line, adding trim at the hem, using an embroidery stitch at the hem! Who among us ever actually uses those stitches? Well done. Beautiful.
Your enthusiasm for sewing is contagious! I'm starting to tinker with my sewing machine again lol. Love all your outfits but that last one looks amazing on you! 💜
Love your new sews. I especially like the leaf motif bolero, beige tank, and the two-tone skirt. If I were to make the bolero, I would extend the length to where it meets the dark brown of the skirt. That way, when seen from behind, it would appear more stream-lined. I do like my tops a little longer. However, you look smashing in this outfit. I just love your videos. You exceed many of the women who have been on the sewing front for years. I enjoy your fresh, honest approach to sewing. And I do appreciate your encouragement.
Hi Viv! Another fun video. I'm so glad you got your inspiration back. Love the color blocked skirt and tops. That tank with wide straps looks like a good one to hide bra straps. I'll have to check it out. You look great with a belt. Great makes as usual as well as the sleeve lengthening tip. Enjoy the summer weather!
Oh my goodness, you just make my day! (I don’t understand about the shoes and the whiners.). You’ve made some lovely things this month again - will definitely be trying some of these patterns. You are such an inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing. Plus, your tutorials are great! I love it that your handsome fellas participate. Thanks again!
What a great video! You are so inspiring. Love you attitude, it’s awesome! Wow, your men’s wear is terrific as well! Congrats on all your May Makes . I’m looking forward to your next post. Keep them coming. Joyce, from Canada
I live in Del Mar less than 10 minutes to the racetrack. I was Mayor here in 2016 and still serve on the city council. This small coastal village is cool so I hope Collin comes for a visit sometime.
It's so cute that your family joins you in your videos 💚 You didn't sew for half the month and you still have 11 makes?! You're an inspiration! Great makes, Viv!!
WOW! Nice "matching" shirts for both of you!! Those are really nice shorts for Colin. I like all of your makes. The Simplicity 1810 does have such a long tie! But, I do like the dress. I think it works perfectly for those hot stuffy days!!
I hear you with lengthening your hubby's shirt. Mine is 195cm (6'5"?) I love how you have your family modeling for you. Well done, very nice outfits! xxx Cilou
I recently discovered your channel and I love it! You are such fun and really inspire me to get back to sewing. I can’t wait to make myself some clothes! I’ve been binge-watching your channel and it makes me smile! Thank you! 😊
Love, love your looks! You are so cute and fun to watch. I love how your family supports you in your hobby. Thanks for the inspiration!

Could not wait until your May makes came out! Made my day! Everything is so lovey and yes, you do inspire so many of us!
Who would make comments about the noise of your shoes? Some people have nothing better to do than complain about the minutia!
Loved all your makes and I could see the stitching on that last skirt! Darling and creative!
Kudos to your family for being such willing models!

You have a very small waist so the cinching in looks beautiful. You also have the perfect legs for shorter lengths but all lengths look great on you.
VivMom, please, could you put your life on hold and just post videos to watch for all of us who hang on your every word? Thanks, a devoted fan. 🤪🤪
Thank you Viv for inspiring me yet again. Your makes are wonderful and I always look forward to your videos. I was rolling my eyes that someone has commented about you clip clopping on your floor. If I were you, I would whip that rug away and tap dance through your next video !😂❤

Love your makes, tips and comments. Yes, yes, yes to the belted S1810 dress! It looks great on you and shows your shape. Might look mumu-ish without the belt. The guys are great models.
Last garment was just awesome, custom made for sure.

Wow! She's a pro👏
Hi Viv! You are awesome! I love how you did a rolled hem using your serger! Would you do a quick tutorial to show us that? Thanks for everything 💕
This is the tutorial I used. I wrote down the steps and keep them by my machine.😃

That little black dress looks so elegant on you. You may have started May slow, but you clearly finished strong!
So many cute things. My favorite was the ruffled tunic. Using the fabric for the neck binding made it look beautifully finished. Thanks for the video.
That kimono and color blocked outfit is fantastic looking. Great fabric/ style matching. The black dress looked awesome as well!
Love this video. It does gives us lots of ideas and I love to see you talk lightly about your makes. I don’t want my sewing to take over my life and I think you are a great example of how to enjoy it, even when it doesn’t go our way.

I like how your husband “works it” for the camera, he’s a hoot! I like the shorts that you made for your son, I love the fabric that you used.

You broke through some design barriers with the kimono top outfit....awesome. I am a big fan of the 3 thread narrow!
Love Brad's shirt the fabric is lovely and really suits him. I think it great that your family support you with your channel. Love all your makes. So kind of you for sharing your patterns, makes and sewing tips. You are a lovely kind lady, thank you :)
Loving your outfits Viv 💕💕 The PIA black dress particularly is so cute! Thank you. X
Sara G, Hi I agree, the black dress was really cute!

so many lovely makes! The last outfit was a standout :)
Wow!!! You did a lot of sewing in two weeks!!! I loved all the makes and it’s so nice you sew for the whole family.
Loved the dress with big red roses and white trim at hem, and also loved blocked skirt outfit. Both were really nice and looked great on you
I LOVE IT ALL! Including the beautiful rug...perfect! Much better! You are AWESOME!

I'm having fun doing the sleeveless one without the ruffle View A ....( Didn't have enough fabric for ruffle😱)...I'm making my own bias tape and everything is turning out great.🤗
What a joy to see you on here today...thanks!👏❤️😺
Hi Viv,
Love the tye dye top,
And the black dress, the last out fit with the kimono really smart:)
And don’t forget the men’s outfits very cool😀
Thank you for sharing
Can’t wait for the next fashion show🌸

Thanks
Love the black dress, worth the pain 😊👍🏻
I honestly think having time out done you good .
You had more enthusiasm to make and enjoy 😉, your little details are fantastic.
Go enjoy the sun ☀️
I ma a new sewist, and watching your Makes and Construction videos is like attending a Master Class. I appreciate your enthusiasm, your free-thought narrative, your real life modeling of the pieces and fabrics, and you frank discussion of how the patterns. I gives me hope to know that sometimes the pattern is just bad, and it's not necessarily my fault! It's like I'm chilling and chatting in line for the cutting table at Joann's, with someone who really knows her stuff, but is still willing to coach a newbie.
I super appreciate you! Thank you!
Love all the outfits, especially the last one. Great sewing....Viv!
Love your new "runway" rug, it softens the sound of your footsteps so we can hear what you have to say better! Thanks for that. What can I say - everything you do is great.
I love doing a rolled serged hem as well. 😀 love your videos! Keep me coming!
Lol, I enjoy your clomping shoe sound. Great makes as usual.
Loved everything you made and the last look was my favorite.
I will echo what Nancy said below. Kudos to your hubby and son. Those makes were great! And that fabric for the shorts looked perfect.☀️
Hahaha! Whoever made comments on the shoes on wood floor I’m absolutely sure they don’t have or like wood floors...🤔😆
I will just comment personally here about the long dress with the long front tie.
The little black dress works well as a day or evening wear. Love it!
I love the last outfit, the perfect length and fit for you...
You are too generous 💝💜❤️💕💜💝
Hi Vivmom, I love your videos but most of all, I love the support you get from your beautiful looking family! Keep up the good work!
Loved everything!
What a great video! You are so inspiring. Love you attitude, it’s awesome! Wow, your men’s wear is terrific as well! Congrats on all your May Makes . I’m looking forward to your next post. Keep them coming.

Really great pieces and I especially love the 2 tone dress and the kimono O beautiful work
Loved the kimono outfit. X
Your sewing skills, personality, and legs are stellar. rock on Vivvie!
I think it works perfectly for those hot stuffy days!!
facing PIA dress was fab looking on you!
I hear you with lengthening your hubby's shirt. Mine is 195cm (6'5"?)
I love how you have your family modeling for you.
Well done, very nice outfits!

conservativetothecor: I agree. That one was exquisite; I loved everything about it.
I recently discovered your channel and I love it! You are such fun and really inspire me to get back to sewing. I can’t wait to make myself some clothes! I’ve been binge-watching your channel and it makes me smile! Thank you! 😊
