      It is looking more like a vehicle each week - though Ive just been a striped a load of parts of the doner disco - so the garden looks like a scrap yard again...

    Jeez that was a rollercoaster of emotions with up's and down's, I do feel for you Matt.
    Your lad is a star, either of my 2 would have not been family friendly broadcastable telling me where to go 😂😂😂

      Nats been a legend, in spite of my occasional Micky taking. I think he’s going to be handy when he gets older, which I hope one day he will be thankful for. The same goes for Amèlie, she gets a lot of stick from me and Nat (left handed hammers etc), takes it in her stride .

    Another good video mat
    I’ve been repairing the underside of my rear tub until rain interrupted play this afternoon!
    You’re certainly getting there with it!

      We have not been blessed with ideal spray painting weather ! June too hot, paint was dry before it hit the surface, July rain all month every day, August .. howling wind, rain and occassional dry sunny interval... Just glad the remaining parts can be done with relative ease in the shed. Still to finish the engine bay, electric, brake and cooling systems :-)

    Happy to support the channel by taking a spoon, if I can... been meaning to get one for a while now. I'm really impressed with what you achieved on those wings! They looked pretty far gone on film so I guess much worse in real life!

      Thanks very much, hopefully next upload the wings will be finished and ready to paint (if not part way through), I will get the spoons pollished up and ready to post and include details of price/postage etc. Thanks for your support, it is much appreciated. All the best Mat

    Looking good Mat, I seem to remember on my 11A there were shims (washers) between the bulkhead and the chassis outrigger, but that would have moved the bulkhead in the wrong direction! they are a law unto themselves! on the job problem solving skills are greatly underrated!

      I think the out rigger on each side had been replaced in the past, may have been sat a bit high and forward from original. I know there was distortion on the rebuilt bulkhead 😬, combination of small bits all added up. Apparently it’s not unusual to find upto 1/2” shims between the footwell and the brackets - so maybe the footwells are a bit short as well? Will have to see how the steering column etc align next

    Great progress. It starts coming together quickly at this point. I managed to get my seatbox in and out with the handbrake in place, but it's fiddly. Tough job to do alone.

      I figured it must have come out with the brake in place- that being said, paintwork wasn’t really a thing back then 😃

    Hi Matt, Having watched the trials and tribulations in this episode, and I promise I didn't smirk!! I am only a mile or two from you, and I have a good selection of taps, dies, and just about any thread of nut and bolt going. The added bonus is that being retired, I'm about most of the time, should you need something in a hurry. If I can help out, please let me know. Keep up the good work .

    Hello Mat,
    Hat's off to you on getting the alignment issues resolved... I guess if all three doors fit well then the remaining tweaking will be as you fit the wings, grill, and bonnet... See you next time.
    Take care.

      Thats my view, bonnet n wings, rad panel - possibly bumper as its a new front end on the chassis. Guess we will find out soon enough. All the best. Mat

    Absolutely brilliant work as always, you are an inspiration, I have to say. It must be about a year since I was staying at "Number 4". Remember being in your shed and seeing the engine. Things have come on leaps and bounds since that time. It is great to see your son helping out. Such a pain that the screen fittings sheared off. Keep at it Mat, you will overcome all of these obstacles. Was the bat alright? Looking forward to your next film, thanks my friend.

      Hi Carl, thanks for your kind words. Sadly the Bat didnt make it - I am wondering if it got struck on the road or in fact it was just its time. Years since Ive seen one close up and I dont see anywhere near the numbers around my home as I used to - same goes for moths. I might have a look at making and putting up some bat boxes and see what plants I can grow to support moths and bees. Hope all is well Carl. Mat

      @@lookcreations All is well with me thanks. I'm currently heading into Kristiansund in Norway. I have a couple of friends with bat knowledge. One is a conservation volunteer and the other has a female roost in his loft. We get pipistrelles up our way mainly as they only eat midges (they don't eat enough of them in my view!) Usually if you find a bat on the ground, it's had it's time. There not being food for them sounds likely because if you see a bat in the day it's because it's hungry. Maybe the weather we've had has affected their food source. I remember when you first started Clanger it was often chucking down. Seems to be a part of our summers now. Take care mate.

    I think the remnants of metal bolted to the inner wing were the remains of the ‘P’ clips that held the wiring for the front lights.

    Couldn't you have welded the holes in the bottom end of brackets shut and then redrill 3 new holes? That way you don't need those packings and it would look a bit tidier. (meant in a positive way, not criticising)

    • @lookcreations
      @lookcreations  Год назад

      The chassis to bulkhead brackets ? Not sure I follow.

    • @robertvanderzaan9681
      @robertvanderzaan9681 Год назад

      I meant those black brackets that screw on to the bulkhead. On the topside couldn't you just screw them on and on the bottom side weld the holes shut an redrill to fit?
